Okay, was sleeved May 28 so almost 4 weeks. Husband bought me this kickass blender and said I should have more fun with coming up with new shake ideas.... So, here's what I did; 1/2 cup egg white (5p/100cal) 1 scoop New Whey Vanilla (30p/100cal) 2 scoop Ensira Chocolate (24p/200cal) 1 cup Greek yogurt plain (23p/120cal) 1 cup Almond milk Unsweetned Vanilla (1p/30 cal) 1 Tsp Chocolate SF pudding mix and 1/2 tsp vanilla 1/2 banana I figure this is 83 to 85 Protein and 550 cal. Since I'm only 4 weeks out and still liquid/soft food only and I thought this was a sure thing. Thoughts please..... need to know if this is good idea. I plan on using the SF pudding a…

  8. I had a slightly modified version of this recipe tonight at a local WLS support group. The differences were 2 scoops of Vanilla unjury and Fat Free/Sugar Free Cool Whip. They left out the cracker crumbs. You could also do unsweetened Almond Milk instead of the skim milk. It tastes good enough to serve to anyone. http://www.somethingswanky.com/red-velevet-cheesecake-pudding-mousse/

  9. Hey Everyone, This is my first post. I am 26 years old and will be sleeved on July 8th, 2013. I am 5'5" and currently weigh 274. Anyways. I love cooking and have started experimenting with ways to make high Protein puree options. I love Breakfast and this one tastes really good. 6 eggs 4 Jimmy Dean fully cooked turkey sausage patties 1 cup fat free cottage cheese 1 cup Water Add a pinch of sea salt and pepper, water blands it down a little. Blend on high for 2 minutes Yields 1.25cups - with a little left over 20g protein per 4oz (1/2cup) In going to try and freeze and see how it does. I will update with other nutritional facts soon. Hope you enjoy!

I don't know about you, but I was intimidated by the thought of pureeing chicken. Here is how I did it. It turned out great. Ingredients: 4 chicken breasts, boneless skinless 2 cans or one carton chicken broth Use a wide pan with a flat bottom and a lid, like a sauté pan. Place the chicken breasts in the pan. It's ok if it is a tight fit. Use enough broth to just cover the meat. Put the lid on and cook on the lowest heat that will produce a slow boil. Once you get to the slow boil, set your timer for 20 minutes. If the broth gets too low, add a bit more. After 20 minutes the meat should be so tender it is falling apart. Put one breast in the food proces…

I love a fresh fruit smoothie in the morning! Every weekend I'll hit up my local Sam's Club or Cosco and purchase an array of fruits: pinapples, strawberries, berries, bananas, etc. when I get home I chop them up and place the chopped pieces in freezer bags. In the A. M. I'll take the frozen fruits of my choice, add a splash of NON CONCENTRATED apple juice or orange juice and water, a tasteless protein powder, and a green superfood powder (like Amazing Green Grass Superfood) and blend. No ice needed due to frozen fruit! And viola! A GREAT tasting fresh fruit smoothie! Some people recommend adding spinach leaves or other greens. I've heard celery is a nice compliment as wel…

Ingredients 1 fresh pineapple, peeled, cored and chopped 1 cup almond milk 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for authentic sweetness) Instructions To get started, you’ll want to freeze the pineapple chunks. I chopped mine a day ahead of time, and froze the chunks overnight. You could also purchase frozen pineapple, if you prefer. As you can see from the picture below, the frozen pineapple reached the 6.5 – 7 cup mark on my blender pitcher. This recipe works best in a high-speed blender, like the Vitamix, because you’ll need to be able to pulverize the frozen pineapple into an ice-cream-like co…

I just made me a delicious veggie purée last night that I'm really enjoying. I bought 2 zucchini, 2 squash, fresh green beans, 2 tomatoes, an onion and some garlic. I sautéed them in a small amount of olive oil, chicken broth and seasoned with cayenne pepper. When they were nice and soft I put in the blender and puréed. It has consistency of apple sauce but lots of flavor. It may not be for everyone but play around in the kitchen.

Im in stage 3 because I'm one month out but i don't like heavy breakfast. so, Today i wanted a smoothie so i decided to try something out. I drink the pure protein ready to drink so i took 2 oz of that put it in the blender with 2 oz of greek yogurt (chobani) and one medium strawberry. I bended it and then added 3 cubs of ice, a pack of Splenda, vanilla extract and a pinch of cinnamon and blended it again. It was so delicious and backed with protein. It took me an hour to finish it all but it was so good. If u wanna make it in smaller amount just reduce the amounts.

Once everything is browned to your liking, add 2-3 TBS of the Greek Vinaigrette, let it cook down a little (but not too much, you want your food moist!). And 1-2 TBS feta cheese. Turn off the heat and let the feta melt for a minute. Throw on 1/2 a diced avocado at the end. This was so good and yields 4-6…

There aren't enough recipes for those of us still in the puréed phase. I thought I would share my favorite: Lentil Soup purée 1 cup of red lentils 4 cups of Water or ff chicken broth 2 stalks of celery (cut in pieces) 2 medium sized carrots ( cut in pieces) 1 tomato 1 onion 5 gloves of minced garlic Salt and pepper to taste Combine all ingredients and cook for about 20-25 minutes in a pot big enough to hold all the ingredients. Scoop a cupful at a time and purée in your blender. If your in the purée stage, purée well. If you're on soft foods, leave slightly lumpy. Delicious! Enjoy!

Yeah, I know you can add protein powder to sf pudding mix, but I try to keep my carbs really low, so between the milk and the carbs in the mix, that's a no-no for me. I've been ordering an instant protein pudding mix that works with almond milk, but it's expensive, and kind of a hassle to make. So.... necessity is the mother of invention, right? Here's my recipe. You may need to tweak a bit depending on your protein powder and how it behaves. I found I needed more corn starch to get Click to thicken than Unjury. 1 scoop (or one serving) protein powder - flavor of choice 1/2 cup almond milk (I'd expect any milk would work) - blend together really well.
