I just made a new treat I thought I would share. I used 1/4 cup of 0% Fage and 1 tsp of sugar free Fat Free Jello Cheesecake pudding (mix only) and 1 tsp of Torani Sugar Free Raspberry Syrup. It was pretty good and 6g of Protein. It came out really thick, so I might use a little less of the pudding mix next time. Just thought I would share

I had an acorn squash that I did not get to make before surgery so today I roasted it, scooped out a little and threw it in my nutribullet with a little sugar free almond milk, 2 tsp of fake butter, 1 tsp of Truvia's brown sugar blend (stevia and molasses 10 calories per tsp.) mixed it up and its delish! I may sautee some onions and try making a soup with chicken broth and nutmeg, cinnamon type of deal.

This is my favorite guilt free snack that is loaded with protein. Mix 1 package of sugar free chocolate pudding (or any flavor) with 2 cups Fairlife milk (it has double the protein of regular milk) until smooth. Then add 5 scoops of Unjury plain protein powder and mix again. Pour into Popsicle molds and freeze. Each pop has about 13 grams of protein And they taste better than a fudgsicle in my opinion. I use these Popsicle molds that I bought on Amazon and the recipe is perfect for 6 servings. Sunsella Mighty Pops - Silicone Popsicle Molds - 6 Pack

I found this recipe online, and I LOVE both chick peas and avocados. I blended it really well, and replaced the green onion with roasted garlic (which is what I had in the house), and it was DELICIOUS! I highly recommend it. Enjoy! http://www.twopeasandtheirpod.com/smashed-chickpea-avocado-salad-sandwich/#_a5y_p=1409813

Made some chicken and pureed it tonight. It's hard to get down so I could only eat about a tablespoon of it, but this is my first try with chicken. Anyway, it tasted good so I thought I'd share. Sorry about the lack of actual measurements, I usually wing it in the kitchen. 2 chicken breasts (boneless/skinless) in a baking dish Salt and pepper to taste Garlic and onion powder to taste Cover with dried cilantro (I just sprinkled until there was a lot of green on the chicken) Add juice from 2 limes I didn't add additional water, but wish I would've added a little more to make more juice for blending. Probably 1/4 cup would have been good Cover tightly with foi…

This is a favorite of mine from my low-carbing days - years ago. I still enjoy it. 4oz. Cream cheese or Low Fat Cream Cheese (whatever you like) 4 small boxes or 2 large boxes of sugar free Jell-O (you want enough to make 8 cups of Jell-O) My favorites are Cherry and strawberry. Put 4 cups of hot Water in a bowl big enough to hold at least 8 cups (plus room to stir) Add the cream cheese and mix till well blended. Sometimes I have to put it in the microwave for a few seconds to keep the temp up. Be sure to blend it thoroughly as any cream cheese pieces will want to float to the top of the Jell-O and separate. Add the Jell-O to the hot water and blend or whisk tho…

Prepare instant mashed potatoes as directed on package, substituting milk for water. Dissolve unflavored protein powder (I like unjury) in milk- add mixture to the mashed potatoes to thin them. For flavor, add a little garlic salt, fresh ground black pepper, and a dash of spicy mustard.

Score! I bought a tube of dill paste from the fridge section near the vegetables. I squeezed some into greek yogurt, added 1 ounce of soy milk, and it made an incredible side to go with my dinner! Will work for fish, tuna, hard boiled eggs, etc. Makes a great helper for chewing. Today I ate Shwarma (chicken thighs) 3 oz @ 16g Greek Yogurt with Dill 1 oz @ 3g Vegetarian Moussaka. -- Although I am in the purees stage, I can no longer eat that texture. I will gag and starve. So I sad for an hour and chewed responsibly, and I got this meal in. Hurray.

I'm playing around with ideas for post-op & thought I would share what I tried today. I hate the texture of cottage cheese, but have learned that it's much better when run through the food processor until smooth. I eyeballed the amounts, so the amounts I listed are just my best guess of what I used & may need to be adjusted. It has a smooth, rich texture that made me think of cheesecake. 1 chopped medium apple 3/4-1 cup cottage cheese 1 Tbsp apple pie spice 1 tsp vanilla 3 heaping Tbsp unflavored Protein powder 1 Tbsp honey Process until smooth. Makes about 2 cups, so there are several servings. I did a second version with about 4 Tbsp pumpkin puree,…

Before RNY, I prepared portions of tuna blended with pickle juice and greek yogurt. It totaled to 10g of protein per 2 oz portion. Today, I used one portion to make an 'omelette' by mixing it up in a pot with 1 tablespoon of shredded cheese and one ounce eggbeaters. The results: A yummy pureed meal with 16.5 grams of protein!

Well, I mean, apart from your surgeon, your nutritionist, and anyone who knows that most sleevers should stay away from that fat and sugar bomb? Well I tell you what. This tastes as close to ice cream as you will get, while still giving you Protein. Yes, you heard that right. High-protein ice-cream. The recipe is simplicity itself. Make the high-protein pudding recipe I've shared before, and put it into your ice-cream maker. We've tried just freezing it, and it doesn't really have the right texture. It's yummy, but it tastes like...well, frozen pudding. Once you let the ice cream maker beat some air into it and get it all light and fluffy, the results are exactly lik…

I made easy-peasy greek yogurt popsicles today. High Protein and great for warmer days. My popsicle mold (Ikea) has 6 compartments, and holds a total of 1 1/2 cups. For best results, measure how much yours holds. Mix together: 1 cup plain greek yogurt (nonfat or whole, as you prefer) 1/2 cup fruit (i used strawberries, but if you are early out stick with cooked fruit and no seeds) Splenda or other sweetener to taste (I used 3 packets) Blend together and pour into mold and freeze for a few hours. If you can't have fruit yet use 1 1/2 cups yogurt with sugar free flavored syrup like Torani. My next version is going to be coconut flavored with coconut extract and…

Today wasn't a good day for me and proteins so tonight I tried something different. I used 1/2 packet of sf banana pudding, 8oz ff milk, 2 oz of cream cheese Greek and 1/2 banana. I mixed it all up in my ninja then topped with whip topping and it was wonderful! I'm on purée but am still getting that yucky feeling after taking about 3-4 tiny bites of anything. Tried cream of asparagus soup today and it was very good but I couldn't stomach it. Any other suggestions of purée would be great. Tuna salad didn't work either

So I don't want to brag, instead I thought I'd share some of the Puree ideas that have been working for me. I know everyone gets specific instructions from their doctors, and it seems like everyone gets different instructions from each other, but I thought I'd share: Comment and share if you like, and comment if you dislike. Remember, after you're done processing whatever you're making to weigh it out to the appropriate serving sizes. 1) Rotisserie chicken I find that buying a fresh rotisserie chicken was helpful in saving time and some energy. I debone it and rip the meat off the carcass into a bowl. Then I chop it roughly on a board or a plate so it purees eas…

Hello fellow sleevers, I made my first green smoothie today in my vitamix blender. It consisted of kale, ginger, apple, carrot, and almond milk. Well, lets just say my green monster tasted just as nasty as it looked! I really, really, really, really, did I say really??? I really want to like and enjoy green smoothies!!! Anyone have great recipes to share? I don't eat a lot of vegetables because I still barely have room for my Protein. I want to get some greens in there and I know what great benefits green smoothie drinks have raved about. Will my taste buds adapt to the green smoothie taste? Or maybe I am doing something wrong? Help!

I started the mushy food stage today, mostly mashed potatoes, applesauce, pureed meats (no red meat) cottage cheese. But the food still needs to me really mushy. Stage 3 is when I get to have Beans and all the other goodies (1/2 cup max). Can anyone tell me what they are doing for the mushy phase that won't get me chewed out by my nut. I know she is trying to protect me but 4 to 6 weeks of mushy food is going to really suck without some variety. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mark

I compiled a list of Protein shake hacks to doctor up Protein powder. Most are for vanilla since that is so versatile. Also are puree recipes and some high protein recipes for puree/soft/regular food phases. I've tried some of these before surgery and can tell you that the fake cheesecake, buffalo dip, and egg salad are wonderful! DLCoggin also has the file to complement his data base of restaurant foods and grocery store items. There has been lots of talk on the boards about puree lately so thought I would go ahead and share. Enjoy! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1B7jc1unYKXmxAUX7amV-ezfP8gu9ptcSH4tZkuD7LCI/edit
