Hi, friends! I had the traditional duodenal switch on 04/24/2024 with Dr. Joshua Roller in Fayetteville, Arkansas. My surgery experience was fabulous and I have had zero complications following surgery. I haven't even so much as vomited since surgery. I am 5 weeks post-op and feel great! I wanted to let folks know, though, that it is their "company policy" to only provide FMLA/short term disability coverage for 2 weeks. I had done a lot of research on this surgery prior to having it and was expecting 4-6 weeks for recovery. Hi, lovely folks. My first consultation with Dr. Peter Einersen is right around the corner and I just want to know if anyone has any experience with this hospital + this surgeon. Long story short - had gastric bypass in July of 2019. Highest weight 400. Current weight 167 to 173. I still feel some restriction to this day. Meals are small and I don't eat high fat, high sugar food. 2 yrs ago, I started having right sided pain. It felt like ovarian pain so saw OB & had 2 ultrasounds nothing showed up there. Pain worsened & had gall bladder removed 1.5 yrs ago. Adjusted diet again to deal with gal bladder being gone and things seemed ok. A few months after the right sided pain returned. Hi. My brother is seriously considering to do the mini gastric bypass. He will be the third member in our family to do it. First it was my sister and me in Egypt and now it is his turn. He is currently working in Bangladesh and travelling to Egypt for the surgery is not a viable option for him. Anyone over here who had their MGB or WLS in India? Hi! I tried the search and couldn’t find anything for my question. Has anyone had surgery through Northwestern in Illinois? I think I’m being referred to Geneva, Il. I usually go through UW Madison, as I like in rural N. Illinois and the local healthcare system is them. After wading through insurance crud, I looked into self-paying and doing it thru Blossom Bariatric's Fast Track program in Las Vegas. My cost would be $6300 all-inclusive, including hotel and transport between hotel and facility for the five days. Hi. I have an appointment with a surgeon affiliated with NYU Langone (Dr. Geroge Ferzli) on Monday afternoon and I wanted to know your guys' experience with them. What was the process with them like, did they require the 6 month supervised diet? (my insurance is NY HealthFirst Medicaid managed care and I dont think they require that). I had my surgery 10/4/2022 and my surgeon is amazing! The whole team at the office is great and very helpful. Dr. Semeret Munie was my surgeon and now I mostly see the nurse practitioner, Kelly Columbus-Kline who is amazing as well. Dr. Munie made all the right calls when it came to my care and helping me select the right surgery for me. I was approved for gastric bypass until my pre-op day the week before I was scheduled. At that appointment we chose to change my procedure to gastric sleeve because my iron levels were so low she was afraid I may become infusion dependent on iron. I was all the way to approval process with the dr I wanted and due to the dropping of the contract between the physicians/hospital group and insurance it has put my entire 15 month journey on hold. I love my dr and dont want to change but i never thought they would still be fighting out contract negotiations this long. I need to start looking in to another dr and my insurance recommended Daniel Evan Swartz, MD. Has anyone used him? What was your experience?

If I could give it less stars I would. I had surgery at OCC in Mexico over ten years ago (lap band) and the surgery center was state of the art, clean and everyone spoke english. The care was impeccable. This time, after reading many positive reviews, I chose Mexico Bariatric Ctr. Unfortunately, my experience there was the opposite. They were extremely fraudulent in their advertising and the entire was nothing less than DANGEROUS! Here is a list of things that were fraudulent: 1. Only one nurse out of about 20 spoke English. So, my surgery original date was scheduled for September 15th, 2022 for bypass. But unbeknownst to me found out i have condition called Situs Inversus, which is basically all my organ are on the opposite side of my body. So to make a very long story short, I paid 16,000 dollars to the SLIMMBAND CLINIC IN TORONTO, TO INSERT BY LAPOROROCOPY AND GENERAL ANESTHETIC A DEVICE WHICH WAS TO CONTROL MY APPETITE AND HELP ME TO LOSE AND MAINTAIN MY WEIGHT, FOR MY HEALTH. I was blind sighted, I should have done my homework, this very clinic and doctor had jumped ship on hundreds of other innocent unsuspecting, patients. I went through the courts and won the case against the clinic, big deal they shut their doors one week prior to my court date. I just had my sleeve done today by Dr. Sekhar with New York Bariatric Group. I cannot say enough wonderful things about him, his staff, and the practice. He made me feel at ease right away and having a personal concierge to guide me through the requirements and track all of the documents for me made the process a lot easier. The concierge also handled all referrals for me and found providers in my area. I’m in Connecticut so i recommend the Farmington, CT location if you’re in mid state or around the Hartford area. Wonderful practice, wonderful doctor and overall a really smooth experience.

I love my coordinator Grace and the dietician Hilary there, and even though I only saw Dr Weaver once he was really nice and patient and went over everything with me. After years of consideration I am going to gave gastric bypass surgery. I have a great doctor and will discuss this with her in a few weeks. Hi. I’m new here. Finally decided I’m ready to get the sleeve. I don’t want to jump through insurance hoops. I’m 39 bmi and no health issues so it’s very doubtful insurance would even cover it. Regarding self pay where have people gone that have great self pay surgeries? I was ready to schedule in Tijuana with Dr Altamiranos then I came across some info saying to steer clear so I’m back at square one. Any Mexico or Vegas places you have used that are great?
