  2. Hey team, i just graduated the options program a week ago today and i have my surgical consult with Dr. Um on 2/1/2016 and i can't find much about him. Everything i have found is awesome, but there just isn't a whole lot, it has me kind of underwhelmed. my roommate had a consult with him before and she said he was nice and knowledgeable, but he turned her down as she had too low of a BMI with no co-morbidity so she doesn't have much nice to say about him haha. Anyways, i guess what i am asking is this: Have you had any experience with Dr. Um? How did your surgery turn out? Are you happy with your level of care provided? Any complications? Any words of wisdom going in? d…

Hello, I wanted to see if there are any patients who have gone with Sacramento Bariatric Associates with Dr. Machado? Her program is very specific and not really like any other that I have seen. I would like some support or have another that I can share what I am going through. I had GB RNY done 10/24/19

Hi All, Im new to this forum and used to maintain band-support contact via a dear banded friend who passed away in 2014. I am now taking legal action against Slimband and wondering if anyone is still seeking action against the clinic. I understand that regardless of the Feb 2014 articles, Dr Yau never left the clinic. He was there performing surgery the entire time. My surgery was performed in 2011 by Dr Kundal and 3 Upper GI's over 2.5 years showed it was never in place and the clinic has ignored me this entire time. Im now finding I have to sleep sitting up and spend most of every night choking. If anyone has had any success or is in the process of taking action agai…

I’m from Jacksonville FL and no one in Jax accepts Staywell Medicaid for the surgery. I was told that the closest place that accepts it is Gainesville. Has anyone had WLS and Medicaid with a Gainesville surgeon? If so, I’d like to know so I can get a new referral sent out!

Dr. Michel of the Coastal Carolina Bariatric Center in Summerville, SC is an amazing doctor. He's nice, patient, extremely knowledgeable and best of all, direct! He was the perfect surgeon for this somewhat shy introvert. He prepared me for the pre-surgery process, the surgery itself and gave me an idea of what to expect afterwards altho it's different for everyone. I couldn't have asked for a better doctor!

Making this review because I didn't see my doctor listed in the group of surgeons and I don't see a lot of other Oklahoma people around here. I actually started my journey with another medical group, not affiliated with a hospital. I wouldn't call them fly by night but close. Did a lot of self pay type patients. Anyways, I did their seminar to see what I qualified for, if anything, insurance wise. Turns out I qualified for nothing at that time (due to poor coverage, not my weight or co-morbidities). I did their non-surgical weight loss and it was fine, nothing special. I saw my GP (part of the OU system) and he recommended I look into WLS and recommende…

I don't see many people posting from or about the programs in Hawai'i, but we have a few. My experience is with Queens Medical Center's Comprehensive Weight Management Program. I have been amazed by the level of care that I have experienced here. It says a lot about a program when the non-medical portion of care goes so smoothly. They walked me through every step of the process for last several months and made very easy to navigate, what can sometimes be a nightmare. My surgeon Dr. Cedric Lorenzo and his team were equally wonderful in explaining everything as well as laying his expectations for me. The aftercare was compassionate and informative. I just had the surgery tw…

I recently had surgery, done by Dr. Bagshahi of Bagshahi Bariatrics in Fort Worth, Texas. My surgery was done in Plano, Texas. Dr. Bagshahi and his staff are outstanding. They're very polite and answer every single question you could ever have. Dr. B is very knowledgeable and professional and I've never felt rushed. Plano surgical center is also amazing. The nurses there have great bedside manner and make you feel comfortable on your big day!

Sorry if this question is in the wrong forum. I am from central Illinois, but I'd be willing to drive a few hours to a MTF that will do the sleeve. I have been researching the band and got the referral, but now I'm having second thoughts about it. I can't figure out which military hospitals actually do VSG because I know it's not all of them. My spouse is active duty.

I would like to make this post to recommend a wonderful surgeon in Huntington, WV! Dr. Blaine Nease is an AMAZING surgeon. He did my sleeve 7 weeks ago & I am a changed woman!! I’ve lost 40 pounds since. He is very thorough with everything. Kelly and Marsha are GREAT! They, as a team, would receive 100 stars if I could! I can’t recommend them enough. Dr. Nease is incredibly smart & knows what he is doing. He did my dad’s surgery 15 years ago & has saved his life 2 times already. I literally cannot express how amazing these people are!

I had my surgery performed in 2015. The surgeons of Advent Health were superb. The surgery was performed with precision and speed. I was up walking after my leak test and home the very next day. I was given medications to endure my stomach muscles did not try to work while they were healing (no squeezing and pushing food along). The staff sent me home with packets of information on what to eat for each stage of recovery as well as recipes and portion guidelines. I was also given a journal/calendar to track food/exercise and appointments along my new lifestyle/ weight loss journey. I felt like I had this huge support team in my corner the whole time. We ca to the agreement that a full gastric bypass would be best for the results I was looking for. Once the surgery was scheduled, Dr. Shebani’s staff were kind, efficient, and seemed just as excited as I in explaining to me what would happen at each new juncture. Once I had jumped through all the hoops and was cleared for surgery, things moved very quickly. Dr. Shebani himself performed my upper go on prep for my surgery so he knew if there was anything he had to worry about during the actu…

I had surgery January 14, 2019. I chose Dimitri Baranov because he was, without question, the best possible surgeon. His bedside manner, demeanor, compassion and personality, were just a few of the reasons I would never go to anyone else. He 100% goes above and beyond for his patients and there is no doubt his patients are his top priority. His staff are amazing as well. From the receptionist to the nutritionist, you will not find a better candidate.

Choosing a surgeon for Bariatric Surgery was a process for me and my husband. We wanted to be absolutely positive that he/she was not only brilliant and a great surgeon but also had an understanding of obesity and everything that comes with it. We wanted to be sure that the surgeon as trained, educated and had empathy for the morbidly obese while also understanding I would need him/her and their practice in my life to help me with this struggle. I was NOT looking for a one and done. Surgeon, Support and Education was my criteria for choosing a practice. We found it all. It takes time to vet the surgeon and also find exactly who and where it have the surgery.…

I wanted to see if anyone else has had similar issues with CHI Franciscan in Federal Way, WA. Google reviews indicate this might be a common issue. First everyone there has been incredibly nice and they were very helpful in getting my pre op requirements scheduled and completed. That part was a breeze. I completed everything March 15th. 4 weeks ago today. I was told they would submit as soon as they got the psych eval which was done 3/15. 3/20 which was the next Wednesday I was told they had everything and would submit to insurance 3/21 and that I should have an approval and a date in 2 weeks or a denial but I would know either way. I looked into Dr Curry at Journey Lite Physicians in Cincinnati, OH, as he is the most affordable locally, but I still cannot pull $15000. I have started looking into WLS in Mexico and came across OCC and Dr. Ortiz. Hi there, I'm thinking of booking my gastric bypass with Dr. Simon Chow, who is basically a protege of Dr. Nicholas Christou in Montreal, Quebec Canada. Their offices are at the Physimed centre, but they operate in a private hospital. So far they seem very transparent and helpful, I've already had a consultation with Dr. Chow and he seems encouraging and supportive. I guess I was just looking to see if anyone else had experience with Dr. Chow or even Dr. Christou in terms of how their surgery went, and what they experienced after in terms of support. Thanks!

From the initial educational seminar last May, through the nutritional visits, pre requisites, and insurance coordination, Dr. Tishler and all his staff were fantastic. For the surgery, he gave me a cocktail of meds including one for nerve pain, and another for nausea, which the nurses in the hospital said made my experience easier. While in the hospital he visited me every day (I was there 2 nights). I was on round the clock anti nausea meds, as well as pain meds, which kept me comfortable. I've never worked with a physician who is so kind and caring, and he will stay and answer your questions, no matter how many or how long. He genuinely seems to care about his patients. The pre-op diet was fantastic; instead of quitting everything immediately and trying to eat healthy, he had me change one substantial thing a month. I can't tell you how much that really helped. The first month was to eat a pound of veggies a day, the second was to eliminate sugars and artifici…
