I'm going October 9th to start my journey (my 1st apt) for the Gastric Sleeve, and was wondering how others experience/journey went? I'm going to Palmetto Health Weight Management Center.

How do you rate him? Having surgery with him on Oct. 17th

I've done a little research on the Fobi Ring. Its purpose is to help you later not to gain weight back. Has anyone had their Dr suggest it or does anyone sleeved have it? Inquiring minds want to know.

I had a gastric sleeve operation on 1/23/2017 done by Dr. Buzdon at Portsmouth Reg. Hospital in NH. Very impressed with Dr. Buzdon. Spent lots of time pre op and post op with me. Excellent bedside manner, very supportive. Scars (5) are very small and healing rapidly. If I didn't have the scars and didn't seee that I can no longer eat as much food, I wouldn't know I had an operation. No pain, no nausea. No nothing! Excellent job. Only downside was she wouldn't give me a slice of the removed stomach, but did give me internal pictures showing my original stomach, liver and cut open stomach. Very cool!! I highly recommend her. I have finally decided after 5 mostly uneventful years with the band to have revision to sleeve. My band was done with Dr Fox through True Results. Now True Results is closed and they are referring to Dr Nicholson which I was going to make an appointment with but now I'm seen there was an indictment for sone reason so I'm not doing that. I had no problems with Dr Fox but his bedside manner left me feeling a bit judged. I need some recommendations in the DFW area please. ASAP!! I'm ready to get this done. I don't want to go to someone who is going to require me to do a bunch of pre opt counseling or dieting.

Dear all.. I'd like your help with something and please try to keep your responses to constructive criticism. I have been having problems with the way my surgeon's office is dealing with responding to questions. They seem to be practicing something called "selective responding" meaning sometimes I get a response to a relatively irrelevant question immediately and fully but oftentimes I will have to ask again even if it's something important. Sometimes I will get the whole answer but oftentimes I will get only a partial answer and I will have to ask again or even find another person at that office who is more responsive. Just want to put an FYI out on this wonderful website that Dr. Fritz Jean-Pierre is a great WLS surgeon that practices at Wellstar Comprehensive right across from Kennestone Hospital in Marietta Georgia. I'm new here, hope I am doing this right! I'm Canadian and have been researching surgeons do to a sleeve for me (possibly a bypass but I'm leaning towards the sleeve). Researching this is overwhelming. I don't know which acredititations are important, etc. I seem to have landed on Dr. Louisiana Valenzuela who works out of the Mi Doctor hospital in Tijuana. Can anyone speak to their experience here at this hospital and with this surgeon? I have heard this hospital is not as large or "nice" as the Angeles hospital and others, but I'm not sure if that matters. It is a smaller facility and am told it is a full service hospital. Dr. Lahmann performed the Realize band surgery on me just over a year ago, and has been a wonderful doctor and surgeon. I was referred to him by my regular doctor, and I couldn't have asked for a better professional to work with. Not only has he been wonderful from the medical standpoint, I feel he's been very thorough and has done a great job making sure that I'm staying healthy and taking care of my body. But his bedside manner can't be beat! He's always very friendly and genuinely cares about his patients and their success with this procedure. I would gladly recommend him to anyone who is considering bariatric surgery!

So my insurance through my job doesn't cover any bariatric procedures due to my job excluding it from our program. It's really expensive so self pay isn't an option for me. What other route could I take?? I'm so bummed about this

Has anyone previously used Dr Q at Pompeii Surgical? I was approved for the surgery and their In-House financing program and it seems like my only option due to low credit history and No gastric coverage on my insurance. But I'd like to find some reviews that's aren't on their website first.

Hey All, I'm starting my search for Doctors/Facilities in Mexico for VSG and came across a hospital, Green and Health Hospital. They have a crazy array of procedures they perform and that intrigues me as some of them seem quite complex(they even offer sex reassignment!) I was just wondering if anyone has had any experiences with this facility or their surgeons, specifically for VSG. I'm extremely impressed with what I'm seeing in some reviews and the pictures of their facility(Yeah, I know pictures can be manipulated, but it truly looks top notch.) Anyway, any thoughts about this place? Thanks!

I had my surgery done by Dr. Cameron Askew. She is fantastic! I'm an RN at the same hospital so, I knew about her before hand. Minimal pain and what pain I do have, is manageable. She's funny and sociable. Anyone looking to have either Gastric sleeve or Bypass and is looking for a surgeon, either out of your state or within the state she's it.

Just checking to see who has had their surgery performed by Dr. Patterson. I chose her because of her experience and the fact that her practice is a Center of Excellence. I liked her when we met. However, her front office doesn't communicate well at all. For my labs, I specifically asked if I could come in any time to get the blood work and EKG done and was told that no, to come in on a prescheduked appointment day and they'd walk me through it all. Not true. My appointment with them was at 11. I found out after the appointment that I could have had the blood work and EKG done before I got there, which would have saved me a couple of hours. I'm 6 months postop RNY and I no longer get itching and hives in/around my mouth from eating apples or pears. Has anyone else noticed this kind of mysterious change to your body's response to certain foods?
