Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals

I'm looking for information on low cost Texas surgeons. My insurance does not cover bariatric surgery. I've done enough research on Mexico surgeons to become completely confused and deterred. While I don't expect Mexico pricing in Texas, I'm sure that there are some Texas surgeons out there that are under 10K for the sleeve procedure. Please reply with suggestions. Thanks.

I'm scheduled for my first 3 hour appointment there mid feb. Haven't heard about insurance yet but I have anthem bcbs so fingers crossed. I hope someone else has had good experiences at OHSU, I'm really nervous to start the journey!

Hello all. I am in Las Vegas and am trying to do research on Dr. Tom Umbach here in LV. He is one of the newer (a few years) bariatric docs here in town. Background on me: banded in 2005, leak in band 2008, band removed (hoping to revise to sleeve at same time) March 2009, was not able to revise. Looking at getting the sleeve at this point. I was supposed to be in a 2 weeks liquid diet.. I terribly failed.. I was told a day of eating wouldnt kill me on thu.. But i have been eating once on fri and today.. How do you do it??!! I recently (8/17/16) had Gastric bypass surgery at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. I had the best nurses and doctors anyone could ask for. My surgeon was Dr.David Chengelis. He was absolutely amazing and made sure I was completely aware of everything before surgery. My anesthesiologist team were fantastic and answered my many questions ( I had not been under before). Overall I would recommend Beaumont if you're looking in Michigan! ❤️8/17/16

Where do I check to see if a Dr is board certified and legit?

I was looking into getting the Lap-Band at first but now I am leaning towards the sleeve. I originally was going to us another doctor just wondering if anyone can give me their thoughts on this surgery center.

I have Aetna Choice POS II as my insurance and I was recently informed by them that it's only a 3 month supervised weight loss requirement, not the 6 months I was dreading. Was my surgeon who did the gastric sleeve would HIGHLY recommend Dr Balette and his staff. CHI ST.Luke's in the woodlands TX was GREAT! Hello everyone. Has anyone had surgery at Barix Clinics?? I'm switching dr's and have an appoitment on Friday. Can anyone tell me how long it took from begining the proces to finally having surgery.. I have the following completed: 2 nut, 2 psych, 2 sleep studies (1 with & 1 without c-pap), colonoscopy, physical, lab worrk, chest xray all completed. Will be doing pulmonary function next week. If anyone can think of anything else please let me know. I have been working on this surgery since April and had to change surgeons due to his staff.. Has anyone had any experience with St. Vincent Charity Medical Centers in Cleveland, Oh for either the Bypass or Sleeve surgery? In Feb 2016, I had initially met with a Dr & Patient Advocate regarding the sleeve surgery. I used Dr. Julie Kilgore @ the Baylor Plano hospital in Plano, Tx. The care I received & the process of getting everything done was fantastic. I highly recommend Dr. Kilgore. I had very little pain & no issues. I had to have a hiatel hernia fixed at the same time. Dr. Kilgore also has an office in Rockwall, Tx.

I am going to have to have my gallbladder out and wanted to know if anyone knew any surgeons or if any of you have experience with getting gallbladder removed amd by pass done at same time. The gallbladder would be through insurance and the bypass cash. But there has to be someone who will do the bypass as an extra charge since they are already there. You know?
