So... It's all happening! I booked about 3 weeks ago, I'm going to TJ Mexico for Dr. Ramos Kelly. I'm excited but a little nervous. Dr. Rezvani is in the same practice as Dr. Halmi at Blue Point Medical Associates but I cannot find any information about him on the boards here. Has anyone had Dr. Rezvani as their bariatric surgeon? My consult with him is scheduled for Thursday, but without any referrals or reviews, I am second guessing and may want to wait for Dr. Halmi. I had gastric bypass and gallbladder removal. I had my surgery on June 25,2015 in NC . The day of my surgery the doctor told my husband that he had a very hard time getting my gallbladder out and that I had many gallstones. Day 1 i felt pretty good . Day 2 I was suppose to go home. Day 2 in the afternoon I began vomiting up black blood and bile .I vomited about 15 to 20 times probably 3 t0 4 oz a time.I also was stooling blood as well . The gave everything they could for nausea . The hospital doc came in to see and told that my kidney function was compromised and that my white blood count was off. Then a GI doctor came to look at . But no one would tell me what was wrong…

Hello everyone I have been researching lately on which clinic/hospital for my sleeve surgery. I prefer one that's in the UK, however, they're very expensive here (around 8-10K) so I'm willing to go anywhere in Europe with a price less than that. If anyone had their sleeve surgery in the UK or Europe could you please tell us where did you have it and around how much did it cost. Hello fellow Sleeve-es and Sleeved I am starting this process to get my WLS VGS at Baptist Medical with Dr. Hodgett. Has anyone used him or his partner? I am done with my six month doctor directed diet and going for my psychological evaluation and then to my nutritional evaluation. Is there anything I should know before going to either of these? I do have high cholesterol and hypothyroidism but I'm taking medication for both. I'm just wondering how long the process takes once I finish these to do list that I got. Hello everyone! Does anyone know anything about Dr. Steven Thomas in Houston, TX? I have looked online and found positive reviews, but there are only a few reviews out there. I know he has both a practice of his own and works with True Results, and I am going the True Results route. He is the doctor assigned to me through the program. hey guys, so i started a program with portsmouth regional hospital. and they require you to lose a ton of weight prior, and take a bunch of stupid classes on top of seeing a therapist? and i get the reason why they do it they want to make sure you will be sucessful. has anyone come across any place that doesnt make you lose like 30+ pounds? figured i would ask.

I am terrified of the idea of going to Mexico. As most of you know, it is so much cheaper there. So, I am looking for Dr in Dallas/Plano area that does the sleeve for a good price. So far I have been quoted everything from $12,200 (no post opp meds etc) to $16,000 with 2 years post up care etc. I have NO insurance. So I am cash pay. I don't have good credit, so I don't qualify for some of the medical financing groups. So, someone who does in house financing with proof of income is what I'm looking for. PLEASE let me know if you know anyone.

Who has gone to UC Weight Loss and used Dr. Thompson? I wanted to go with Dr. Watkins but with his wait list there was a chance I wouldn't have the surgery until after the beginning of the year. I was trying to get the surgery before the beginning of the year since I have already reached my deductible. Please let me know your thoughts on Dr. Thompson if you have used him. Living in the DFW area I have too many choices for a surgeon! I am hoping to have the gastric sleeve and will be paying cash (insurance covers it but don't want to wait 6 months to get things going). Dr. DeBarros and his staff is amazing. I would highly recommend him. I've been a patient of his for over 3 years and I am completly satisfied with my treatment. They explain everything throughly and strive to have the highest customer service. They are very concerned if you do not feel well and do their best to get you into the office ASAP.

Hi everyone, I just had my first consultation with my surgeon after completing the pre-op requirements for my insurance. During our consultation, he decided to require that I have three months of therapy to work through a possibility of alcohol addiction after the surgery. I'm an occasional social drinker who hasn't drank socially in over four months and I don't have any alcoholism in my family. Is this kind of decision normal for a surgeon to make? Because of this extension, I may not be able to have the surgery because my insurance plan expires within the timeline that the surgeon gave me. Now I am totally lost at what to do next. Help!

Hey guys, Those of you who had to fly home 3 days post op... how did it go? Any advice on what to wear on the plane? I am going to a small island and there are stairs to get off the plane onto the tarmac... should I have them take me up in the disabled lift instead? Any advice is appreciated!

I cannot say enough good things about Memorial Health in Savannah Georgia, particularly the Bariatrics department. My surgeon was Dr. Oliver Whipple, (surgery date December 28, 2015), and he is a great doctor. He is attentive, and thorough, and is a very kind person as well. The staff at the Bariatrics department was wonderful. I was discharged today. I would highly recommend Dr. Whipple, and Memorial Health. Hands down, the best hospital care that I have ever received.

Hi! Is there anyone here familiar with Dr. Pompa at the International Bariatric Centre of Excellence? I book in for surgery on Feb 9th. I have been very impressed with my support at WFL Medical out of Saskatchewan (Canada). I have had a lot of information to go through and feeling very confident in my decision.
