Good Morning Everyone, the day is nearing (November 7th). Has anyone had surgery @ the CC in Weston how was your stay? I am told I will be in for 24hrs (were you). This is hospital is a 2hr drive from home so my wonderful husband is staying with me (will they accommodate him as well?). Does anyone have any information on Dr. Abbas with University Hospitals in Cleveland? I have spent the last 7 months working with Dr. Khaitan from UH. I have been approved for the sleeve and was toldthat Nov. 15 would be my surgery date. Today I learned there has been a scheduling error and I would have to postpone my surgery a significant amount of time, which isn't really a possibility with my job, or switch to another UH bariatric surgeon, Dr. Abbas. I am kind of in panic mode trying to find out anything about Dr. Abbas and hoping to hear from some of his patients before I commit to switching suregons. I'm scheduled for surgery on 8/29/16 with Dr. Wegner at St. Francis. Has anyone else used him and what are your thoughts about him and this hospital? My insurance company BCBS FEP recommended it since it is a Blue Distinction Center. I would love to hear your thoughts.

I was diagnosed in March 2011. Had chemo and now I've been in remission for 2 years. I'm wondering if there are any other cancer patients or anyone else in remission having or have already had vsg after diagnosis? I read 1 post where the surgeon would not do the surgery until the 5 year mark.

So I scheduled a total of 3 consultations. I had my first one sept. 6th with dr. Tiesenga in Elmwood park,IL. Everything went smoothly, nice clean environment and I was seen ON TIME for my appointment. They gave me my referrals for nutritionist,etc,consulted about the procedure and I left. I have one of..if not the BEST Dr/surgeon there is in the st louis mo tri-state area..Dr Jay Snow. He works out of mercy hospital in Festus Missouri. If you're in our area and are thinking about any one of the surgeries, he's your guy. Has anyone recently gone through the options classes in OC or LA. I am in OC< but will have my surgery in LA so I am closer to my cardio's at sunset. They don't do any bariatric surgery at sunset, so next best choice in West LA. I have only had heart surgeries, and the cardiac ward is awful. How is the recovery rooms at West LA, the surgery/recovery doesn't worry me. My biggest concern is the rooms at West LA. My cardio's always get me the best rooms, for being a cardiac patient. I'm on Medicaid (apple Health) my insurance is with Amerigroup. I have been approved for stage 2 with them. I have been going to the NUT twice monthly on my 6mo. medical diet plan, and meeting with my referring doc once a month. I'm having my surgery with Dr Garcia in TJ and I'm flying from New Zealand to San Diego and getting picked up to cross the border.
