Has anyone had surgery with Peachtree Bariatrics in Atlanta? Please tell me the surgery went more smoothly than the pre-surgery stuff. The office staff has lost my psych evaluation 4 times, a patient advocate left and didn’t record a bunch of my stuff so I had to re-do, the tech told me there was no record of the stress testing that I did in their office, and currently I’m having to have my PCM re-fax all my labs and clearances because they can’t find those either (and then when I called to follow up, the office had closed 2+ hours early) I’m extremely frustrated, but this is who TriCare referred me to, so I’m not sure if starting over with a new office is an …

Hi All, I am a good deal of the way through my journey to get surgery (hopefully the sleeve). I meet with my surgeon on Wednesday, the 22nd. I was just wondering if there was anyone on here who has had experience with the UPMC Altoona Bariatric Center. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I'm 4 months and 4 days post op. I've lost 86 lbs. I can hardly eat. I literally take two or three bites, chew very well but still have a little discomfort when the food goes down. I also feel full when i take my vitamins. I can eat a small garden salad with a few pieces of chicken breast small cubes. I can't do dairy any more. I'm usually not hungry unless I'm emotional but then i just clean something because eating isn't an option for me anymore. I eat a little less than a half sandwich and half of a street taco. Please tell me how much u eat.

Hello Everyone!! I was informed 2 was ago that I was approved for Stage 2 for the BariatricPal program through Molina. I have a BMI of 39.5 weigh 224, 5’3” and possibly have Sleep apnea. My problem is I’ve tried weight loss on my own, I’ve diet, killed my self at the gym and just couldn’t loose weight. I have started my PT classes and Mental Health but still waiting on my Nutrition classes. Does anyone know if we can get approved for the surgery without having to complete all the classes. I just recently found out I might have to move to California in mid year and it bums me out because I don’t believe I can complete all these classes by then, then they told me I’d have …

Hello! I was wondering if anybody is familiar with Dr. Eric Pinnar here in Jax, Fl? I have heard some wonderful things about him and his team in Virgina/D.C but I was wondering specifically for his team in Jax. I recently attended one of his seminars and was very impressed. I have not yet met his staff and am curious what the general opinion is! Thanks!

Hey All, I finally had my appointment with the nutritionist at Kaiser Permanente Sunnyside in Oregon. When I mentioned ways I had learned to add extra protein after surgery, she acted very confused and asked why I would need more after surgery. I was startled by the questions as this seems to be a huge factor for life after surgery. She simply replied that most Americans get more protein than is needed already. Does anybody have any insight on this? I have searched the internet and haven't found much that applies. Thanks in advance.

Hi All, I have 2 weeks left before my last PCP visit and my patient advocate will send in my paperwork to insurance for approval. I know my surgeon will be Dr Wagner. How is he? How was your hospital stay? Did they make you walk after surgery? When I first met him, he wasn't as sociable. I asked his opinion on which surgery he thought was best for me based on my weight and he really didn't give an opinion. I understand its my decision but it wouldn't hurt to give a suggestion. Other than that, he seems like a cool guy.

Hi, I am meeting with Hopkins regarding the endoscopic sleeve procedure in Baltimore but also wanted to look into a regular gastric sleeve. I am self pay and looking for recommendations for surgeons in my area. York, Harrisburg, Lancaster. I could go as far as Philly but it there are a lot of trips for nutritionists, having the meetings on line would be preferred. Thanks!

Did your doctor allow you to make payments or were you strictly cash pay up front? Insurance is covering part of my surgery, and I have to pay the other $5000 in cash. They had pamphlets for prosper so I’m assuming it’s paid upfront or financed, but just curious about everyone’s situation.

I'm pretty confident about my decision to go with this surgeon, but it would help me feel even better to hear how someone else's surgery and postop care went. I've read numerous positive reviews on OH, but I'd love to hear from someone on this forum. Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post here. Thanks

Hi everyone! I attended the surgeon seminar with Dr. O'Malley on 12/29 to have surgery with him at the bariatric center at Highland Hospital in Rochester,NY. Has anyone else gone through this program? I have the nutrition seminar tomorrow, my psych eval and physical (at the surgery center) next week, and my 1:1 nutrition appointment already scheduled for Feb 2. I am surprised (but very happy!) how quickly getting the appointments has happened. Can anyone give me some insight on their experience? How long from beginning to surgery for you? Thanks!! So I'm still in the beginning of my process. I attended the seminar in June, took the summer to REALLY think about it and then the last week in august I started the journey officially. I had the nutrition seminar on September 11th, the physical on the 19th, Ultrasound yesterday, psych eval is scheduled for late October, nutrition 1:1 is scheduled on October 10th, Sleep study in early November. I'm only required to have 2 1:1 nutrition appointments, and I need to lose 5% of my body weight which I've already accomplished. So far everyone I've met at my appointments have been amazing, not a single person has treated me how I expected, I had this fear in the back of my m…

I'm sorry - I need to vent. I've enlisted NJ Bariatric Center (NJbariatriccenter.com) for treatment because it was recommended to me. I feel like I am being given the run around. This place is an hour away from me and every step along the way has been exhausting and stressful. My BMI is 40. Which qualifies me for insurance coverage without any additional issues. Because I answered apparently incorrectly on a stupid online questionnaire, they wanted me to take a sleep apnea test....over an hour away. Thankfully, I convinced the sleep doctor to send me the at home test. Took the test, apparently failed - and now NJBariatric Center (only after me reaching o…
