Let's TALK HUNGER! The HUNGER DEMON HAS ARRIVED!

Wow, honeymoon over I will be two years postop sleeve in April and I dreaded this day the day where the hunger Demon 😈 would come back... obesity is the cruelest disease of all and wouldn't wish this disease on my worst enemy. If I had a camera in my kitchen, it would be sad as many times as I went and opened the fridge and my cabinets .....I could not find or satiate my hunger, so I'll have to onboard my GLP1 soon. I've been off of my GLP1 one for two years, but I have to start back on it next week because that's the issue with the disease of obesity, It's a complex disease lthe type of hunger that us who deal with obesity has is not a normal hunger sometimes it's a hunger that can never be satisfied and that's the sad part about this disease.

The hunger can't really be described. It's so it's an obesity type of hunger. I call it obesity hunger

GLP1 medication is a life saver for me. It completely changes how I feel and think about food. It turns off so much food noise and constant thoughts about what I want to eat. I truly believe GLP1 medications should go hand in hand with bariatric surgery after a certain point if the patient needs it. I hear so many stories of people who slowly gain it all back and I truly believe in this medication. It helps with so many of my PCOS symptoms and even helps with things like shopping addiction for me.

You know what flower child you bring up a good point because shopping is also known as as a transfer addiction. It has the same addictive qualities so the GLP1 combats your GLP1 receptors and maybe it's targeting another addictive receptor in the brain wow that's interesting. I never thought about it like that. I am glad to hear that you took the necessary steps to tackle that food noise. I knew what it was instantly lol! I was rummaging around for food like a drug addict. I worked so hard to lose this weight and I refuse to gain it back due to this obesity genetics, and this metabolic disorder. I will let you all know how it goes as I will start my first shot maybe tomorrow thanks for your feedback.

I’ve been thinking about the GLP-1 because the food noise has been really rough lately. Since my lowest weight- before the boobs and before my “muscle mommy” era (LOL)- I’m up about 15 lbs. The weird part is I’m still roughly the same size, except for tops because of the new additions.

But mentally, things feel different. I find myself binging at night sometimes just because I want something sweet. I don’t know where my control and discipline went. I used to be so hyper-focused, and now that I’m more in a maintenance phase it feels like I get in my own head. Then I end up sabotaging myself or almost punishing myself for it.

During the week I do great. I meal prep, I eat 140g+ of protein, I do about 30 minutes of cardio and get 10–12k steps, and I weight train 4–5 days a week. But Saturdays can turn into a free-for-all sometimes. And when I allow myself to have cocktails, I have a hard time stopping at just one. Then Sundays I feel like sh** and then get back on track. I know that the muscles are shaping me and I look different at this weight then someone who never weight lifted. I look in the mirror and be like "ok baddie" but then I step on the scale and I am pissed.

This is honestly the first time I’ve said it out loud, but the last few months have been really hard for me.

Amber, I feel you 100% if you are able to get on a GLP1 definitely give it a try. It was life-changing for me when I first got on it before my gastric sleeve surgery 2 years ago. It reduced all the fooD noise. After my surgery, I stopped it because the food noise was gone and my stomach is much smaller but here recently about a month or two ago all of the food noise came back (the disease of obesity😡) and similar to you i was rummaging around for food at night.... also similar to you my measurements are the same, but I'm heavier on the scale which I really don't like. I understand that muscles weighs more than fat but to me this weight that I'm at is really not a healthy weight for me. Don't get me wrong, I look f**king hot. I should post some before and after photos, but I personally don't want to be at this weight, It's too close to a danger weight for me! I want to lean out! I'm very very muscular. I'm going to start ramping back up my running, running has always made me leaner. I have been slacking on running. Yes the struggle is real. I will give you all the update on how my GLP1 does I will start it today.

OK, so an update you guys I started my GLP1 last Tuesday and I want to talk about something that I thought about in regards to my hunger. My smaller gastric sleeve pouch was NO MATCH for the obesity hunger I experienced! The hunger that I had even the smaller stomach couldn't even stop that type of hunger! That my lovely people is the OBESITY DISEASE.... everyone should have access to different tools and to me GLP1s shouldn't even be an issue for insurance companies to approve. I'm trying to think how I would manage this disease without it because that is not a type of hunger that can be satiated.

how is the GLP-1 going? I went to my doctor and he said no to me. He said that it would be more hard than good. That my "fat" I am seeing is my loose skin. He told me to go get a dexa scan done to see the percent of muscle I have in comparison to fat, that he wanted me to keep doing what Im doing and if the scale goes up after 40 (in 3yrs) we can talk bout hormone balance and a GLP-1...boooooo

Hey girlie, I thought I had came back to this thread and updated everybody so it's been almost a month and a half now and it has been like a miracle to be back on my GLP1 I have already lost about 10 pounds! As soon as I gave myself the first dose the food noise went away and I want to talk about GLP1 on a psychological level because it's greater than having it for just weight loss! Studies and-research shows that GLP1's fire in the pleasure and reward center of the brain. I have food noise and an addictive binge disordered eating behavior as soon as the GLP 1 releases it goes to that part of my brain and it quiets the noise so for me it's bigger than just weight loss. I understand what your Dr is saying but it's bigger than what he is seeing with a human eye. It calms the pleasure pathways. So if the food noise gets too loud, you might have to Dr shop because this drug is heaven sent and we can't afford to go backward. It's bigger than just weight loss obesity fights you every chance that it gets, you can do the same exercise, you could eat the same meals, and the weight will still creep on. We have to have all of our tools and I would be pissed if a doctor didn't really understand what I needed. Are you currently experiencing weight regain or reoccurrence? Is the food noise back with a vengeance?

I agree and I was thinking of doing it through Ro or something like that. I have gained about 12lbs from my lowest and before the new additions of boobs. I do have a lot more muscle on my body but I do catch myself binge. He did tell me that if the weight continues to creep up then we would revisit. He told me its not a no its a not right now.

Ideally I would love to lose about 10-15 more pounds. Just to stay in my safe zone.

OK, I understand. Definitely keep me posted chic on what happens! We know our body the best and I personally before getting back on my GLP1 that danger zone was like right there like I couldn't get close to it. It was just too dangerous. Obesity is a beast to fight I have to always be two steps ahead!

Good for you taking care of what you need to be comfortable with your body, it is what we all deserve.

I'm a couple of months away from my three year anniversary and for me I find I am able to eat more over the last few months and it makes me feel anxious. My problem is more from boredom so I pick at food, not big portions or binges like years gone by but I still know I shouldn't be doing it as I am not hungry but at times I can't stop myself. I try to distract myself by going out to gym, doing housework or browing online (costing me a fortune in online shopping 😄) but they only work sometimes.

I have only gained a couple of kg and still around my original goal weight but there have been weeks when I bounce up again and it takes a few weeks of strict eating to get back. I don't want to go down the GLP1 route and also don't think I would even qualify due to my BMI so I am trying to do my own mental reset at the moment and take more pauses before reaching for something to eat to see if I really need it.

We most definitely deserve it! I don't know about you all but obesity took the majority of my life, I lived most of my years in a larger body! So I be damned if ANYTHING brings me back to that lol! So I have to be my own biggest advocate hence the GLP1! Well girlie it seems you know what your triggers are, and awareness is key! I knew I needed assistance when I rose like a mummy from the dead at 2am from the bed scavenging through the cabinets for food it was then I KNEW I WASENT SAFE. 😂 Dr. Now from 600 pounds stays in my camera roll to keep me on the right path!
