Let's TALK HUNGER! The HUNGER DEMON HAS ARRIVED!

Wow, honeymoon over I will be two years postop sleeve in April and I dreaded this day the day where the hunger Demon 😈 would come back... obesity is the cruelest disease of all and wouldn't wish this disease on my worst enemy. If I had a camera in my kitchen, it would be sad as many times as I went and opened the fridge and my cabinets .....I could not find or satiate my hunger, so I'll have to onboard my GLP1 soon. I've been off of my GLP1 one for two years, but I have to start back on it next week because that's the issue with the disease of obesity, It's a complex disease lthe type of hunger that us who deal with obesity has is not a normal hunger sometimes it's a hunger that can never be satisfied and that's the sad part about this disease.

The hunger can't really be described. It's so it's an obesity type of hunger. I call it obesity hunger

I’ve been thinking about the GLP-1 because the food noise has been really rough lately. Since my lowest weight- before the boobs and before my “muscle mommy” era (LOL)- I’m up about 15 lbs. The weird

GLP1 medication is a life saver for me. It completely changes how I feel and think about food. It turns off so much food noise and constant thoughts about what I want to eat. I truly believe GLP1 medi

My hunger never left. I'm a year and a half post op and can't stop eating. I'm gaining again. The hunger never left and the behaviours haven't changed and I can't get any mental health help. I was so happy six months ago when I was finally below 30 BMI and now I'm back up to 31 BMI

I hate to hear that Neonraven! The first thing to getting back on track is realizing what's going on!! Do you have access to GLP1's in your country! If so look into it or if you can pay out of pocket for a compound definitely give it a try! Hunger sucks @ the 2 year mark it came back for me now it has settled down from getting back on my GLP1 I will be checking in you soon

I would love to try GLP-1s, but I can't afford it. I've had so many life changes in the last few months. Losing a friend to cancer, losing a job due to the loss, months of unemployment, losing a temp job, finally finding a new one. Shopping for things I can't afford and eating stuff I don't actually really want is taking it's toll.

I'm still absolutely thrilled that I've gone from UK size 24 to UK size 14, but I'm disappointed that I'm not at my ideal weight and am trending upwards again.

Wow Raven you have definitely had a lot of curve balls thrown at you so sorry to hear that but sometimes you have to hear the hard things being a UK size 14 is great but definitely definitely try to get a hold of your cravings and get back on track. We all know to well how a size 14 can be a size 26 in no time! That's how the disease of obesity works it's always waiting for you to let your guard down but you can't let the disease win! 🏅 I'm rooting for you

My treatment has been on the NHS here in the UK. I need to just admit to my GP I need help. Maybe they will be able to get me back on track.

so how is everyone doing? @AmberFL @NeonRaven8919 how are you coming along. So an update on my GLP1 usage since my hunger and food noise returned in April 2026. I am down about 12 pounds, since onboarding treatment. GLP1 and other weight management drugs should be an included in everyone's insurance plans it's such a great tool and everyone should have access. When you onboard treatment it really brings this disease full circle and shows how our brains are just wired differently than those with no metabolic disorders. It is truly a disease. The drug truly targets the pleasure centers of the brain turning off that need!

This sounds so hard, and I really feel for you. People who haven’t dealt with that kind of hunger don’t always understand that it’s not just “wanting a snack” — it can feel constant and exhausting, like your brain/body won’t shut it off.

Starting back on a GLP-1 might make sense if your doctor agrees, especially if it helped quiet that food noise before. I’d just make sure you onboard slowly, watch side effects, keep protein and fluids up, and stay connected with your bariatric team since you’re post-sleeve.

You’re not failing because the hunger came back. Obesity is complicated, and needing more support doesn’t mean you did anything wrong.
