We are so pleased with our experience with Dr. Sanchez!!! As someone else stated about their Dr.; after dealing with some U.S. Dr's it was so refreshing and confidence building to be treated with such care. We were never made to feel that we were wasting, or taking too much of his time or that our questions were not important. He is surrounded by a wonderful team of Dr's and health care experts. I am very pleased to see so many others are happy with the Dr. they chose.

Well after getting back from surgery in MX I have found out that the doc that I had lined up to do my fills is no longer taking Mexican band patients. Anybody have any recommendations for a fill doc in N. TX or Southern OK? I am north of Ft. Worth. Thanks, ~Lea 11/8 Dr. Sanchez 253/249/219 mini goal (less then my hubby)

I'm considering self-pay. One of the reasons I'm hesitant about going to Mexico is the follow-up care (fills, etc.). I live in Minnesota so Mexico is a trip. I'd feel much more secure local, but finances are limited. Any suggestions, advice, etc.?

I have been thinking about having the Lap Band done for about a year now and I am ready to start looking at some doctors. I have been researching The Lap Band Center of Michigan at Port Huron. Anyone who has been to this hospital or has any opinions please let me know. I live about three hours from Port Huron so I want to be as informed as possible before I go to one one the seminars they have. The biggest hurdle is to first see if my insurance provider will cover the cost. My employer (Pfizer) is changing providers next year and I will find out who that will be next week. Keeping my fingers crossed! Thanks in advance for your help. This board has been a great resource …

Hi All, I'm new to this site, I was wondering if anyone Knows or has has experience with any surgeons in Rochester MN, specifically Mayo Clinic. I have a long history there and have a bleeding disorder that would make it almost imperative that I would have my Lap-Band done either there or in Iowa City...So if Anyone has any "Hands on Experience with Lap band Surgeons in either city? Please e-mail me. My next consult with family doctor is in 1 week...and I need to have a Surgeon or two picked out before then. Any help appreciated! Thanks ~ Bill C. wjonck@yahoo.com

Hi, I am thinking of going to dr. E. seminar and seeing what they have to say. I talked to the nurse and she rattled off a lot of costs as to basic or what if charges. I can afford 10,000 to 12,000 but not 30,000. Have you gone to the seminar yet. Thanks

I am a patient of Dr. Douglas Nespory in Joplin MO. He is just starting to do the Lap Band. I have had previous surgeries by him and he is an excellant Dr. I would highly reccomend him to anyone. Unfortunately my insurance does not cover any weight loss surgery and I do not have the money right now to pay both the Dr. and the Hospital (Dr. Nespory does not accept insurance but his office does help you get your approval and helps you file your insurance for your own reimbursement). I have been to some of his seminars to learn about the procedure they were very imformative, and there is not a long wait to get into see him his office will work people in, instead of makin…

Dr. Rodriquez in Louisville KY, has been a terrific Dr.. I had my lap band surgery On Aug. 21 (last Thursday), and he has been wonderful starting at my first appointment 3 months ago to present time. He is one of those doctors that wants a real answer when he asks you how you are feeling. He doesnt want you to just say "OK", or "FIne". So if there is anyone in Louisville Ky that wants to know the name of a wonderful Surgeon He is the one. He also did my sisters surgery in Feb. and she is doing wonderful also and feels the same way as I do...

While most people would not think of Monterey, Mexico as the first place to choose for lap band surgery, I can tell you that I am certainly glad that I did. Even though I was a little nervous and slightly apprehensive about going to Mexico to have my surgery performed all of my fears were laid to rest when I arrived at the clinic. grupo endo bariatrico had a state of the art facility that would rival (and in some cases surpass) entire clinic was outfitted with state of the art equipment and was blended into the most comfortable of surroundings. I would like to share with anyone considering becoming a client of Dr Arturo Rodriguez In a day and age when most profession…

Hi everyone. I was banded 11/20/02 by Dr. Roger de la Torre of Midwest Bariatrics at Crossroads Regional Hospital in Wentzville, Missouri. Since that time, the practice has started doing their bariatric surgeries at DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, MO and St. Alexius in St. Louis, MO. I don't have any experience with either of those hospitals personally, but I've heard good things about both of them. Dr. de la Torre is a very experienced laparascopic surgeon and I had a wonderful experience with my surgery. I do have to say that the practice is very pro-RNY and the follow-up for the lap band leaves something to be desired, but all fills are done under fluorscopy by Dr. …

My surgeon was Dr. Michael Johnell in Greeley, Colorado. I was directed to him by my insurance (Pacificare HMO) and have found him to be smart and thorough. He and his staff have answered a million of my questions before and after the surgery, the surgery was a breeze, and his aftercare has been great. Getting a fill was easy and actually kind of fun and educational. I've heard people say that he doesn't have much bedside manner but I found him to be a perfectionist kind of guy more than a gushy, huggy guy and I can live with that, given I wanted him as my surgeon, not my best pal. His wife Patrice is a nurse in the office and she is really warm hearted, in addition …

If anyone is interested in finding a doctor in the New Orleans Louisiana area I can recomend The Surgical Specialists of Louisiana. Dr. Thomas Lavin leads a great group of doctors and staff in Covington and New Orleans. Dr. Lavin is not only an excellent surgeon, he is a super guy.
