  1. Thank you so much Dee! I may start looking at a different hospital. That office is hard to reach and no one knows any answers to my questions. They keep directing me to other people. What happens if I truly need someone post-op and cant reach anyone? Thats a bad feeling. Thanks again, Dee. Good luck with your journey.
  2. Hello Dee! I am actually seeing the same doctor. My first consult was monday, I left with more unanswered questions and concerns. It may be that Im anxious about everything, so we'll see how it goes. How do you like the overall process with University of Maryland? Do you feel supported?
  3. Thanks for the responses. I truly do appreciate the replies. I asked because my surgeon office was not sure and decided to plan for 6 months. I called today and spoken to my navigator, my plans have been changed to 3 months. My friend with the same insurance is going for a band and her wait ia 3 months also.
  4. Thats a amazing! I can only hope to have the same results. How do you feel?
  5. Anyone has aetna? There are two different criteria for surgery requirements, either 6 months of a medically supervised diet or 3 months of preoperative teaching for RNY. Anyone has any experience with this? Please share.
  6. It is a requirement from my surgeon that I start birth control 3 months before the RNY through 2 years post op. I have no problem with this and I have PCOS, the pills helps with the symptoms. Anyone else had to do this?
  7. Hello, Anyone here had or are planning to have their surgery here? I am, but I am having mixed feelings. Please, feel free to share any experiences, news....

  11. Wow Don, congratulations! I only hope that I will have the same results. Im just so nervous, but I know I need this surgery. Keep up the great work.
  12. Hello Everyone, I am new to this forum. All of my life I have been fighting with my weight. After losing 70 lbs on my own and regaining 80 lbs, I realized I need help. I cannot do this alone! I went for my first consult yesterday, weighed in at 301.4 lbs. That was actually hard for me to type... I was expecting to have a lap band, but my doc is pushing for the RNY. I am so nervous and anxious, but excited at the same time. I have to come out of my shell and open up to others (I always have been a private person and fighting this battle alone). I welcome all the suuport I can get with open arms. If you have any questions, please dont hesitate to ask. Im glad to be here.
