Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals

I have decided to go with Sharp Hospital in San Diego, CA and have been to the preliminary seminar they require. I haven't decided on the surgeon who I want to do my procedure. Does anyone have any good or bad experiences with Bariatric Surgery at Sharp Hospital, and who was your sugeon? Thanks.

Has anyone had their surgery in Omaha? If so with which doctor? What facility? How did it go?

They have a great staff and always ready to answer any and all of my questions. Very friendly and courtesy as well, they do a super job. They know how to make you feel right at home and comfortable. His office is Tempe Arizona but has several other sub-offices throughout the valley to assist you at as well. I do recommend him and his staff if you are looking into the lap band procedure.

Hello! I am interested in hearing about various weight loss clinics and specific surgeons in Dallas, TX. I am looking into gastric sleeve. I am not looking outside of Dallas, just in Dallas proper. I have an appt today with Dr. Davidson at Presbyterian Hospital. I have another appt scheduled with Nicholson Clinic. I am sure any surgeon can do the surgery ... It looks like I am going to have to self pay for my gastric sleeve. I live in the San Diego area and have been quoted a price of $22,000 from my doctor. I don't mind traveling a little bit. Possibly Arizona. Anyway was hoping I could get some ideas of prices from other areas for good reputable doctors. Really appreciate any help and advice you can give. Thank you

I'm going through the process of switching surgeons. I haven't had surgery yet, but want Dr Michael Schwartz to do my surgery. He has a program through St Joes and also through Abbott. Can anyone offer an opinion on either program or hospital? How long are the wait times to get in? How was your hospital stay? Any comments would be appreciated. Thank you.

I've had the best doctor and his team of nurses. I was wanting to get them something but I'm not sure what to do. I'd say buy them lunch, take them muffins or something like that but I'm pretty sure they're all bariatric patients themselves. What do you suggest?

In what stage do you usually get your surgery date? After all tests and procedures, exercise class and all? Or after 6th month visit?

I have a consult with Dr. Kim on Wednesday and there is also an info meeting that night for Bailey Bariatrics in Muskogee. I am thinking about going to both. I want to choose the right Dr but there are so many options out there. My insurance covers bariatric surgery but my BMI is only 36 so there is a possibility that I will be self pay. This is what makes me also consider Mexico. I guess what I am looking for is for experiences with these two places. Anything negative? How long from first appointment until surgery? Thanks

I'm looking into VSG Surgeons in the Houston TX area and was hoping to find some forum users who can recommend a good surgeon as well has provide information on cost... I have Blue Cross / Blue Shield of TX insurance and it does cover the VSG. However the one office I called came back with an out of pocket cost that damn near the cash-pay cost!!! Hi has anyone else had Dr Chengalis? I will go see him for the first time this coming Thursday. I started this process in Aug and I have BCN of MI. I went to a seminar with him and liked his personality.

I have chosen Dr. john Marsden through the True Results clinic in Ft. Worth. I have been super impressed with the staff but have not yet seen Dr. Marsden. Has anyone else used him? Everything I have found on him is positive but I would love to know from people who have actually used him.

I am currently looking for a great surgeon in the So Jersey area. I am close to Princeton, Philly, but that really is about it. I had a good doctor here but his office staff sucks..Can't deal with all that nonsense and he always seems to be way to busy .. Has anyone had their sleeve at Einstein Bariatric outside of Phila Pa? I went to their seminar and I was very happy with the information provided and the doctor who did the seminar was very knowledgeable and answered all questions.....this facility has a wonderful reputation from all that I have read.

Hi Everyone, I'm glad I found this forum about VSG. I live in Brisbane, Queensland and have just had my first appointment with my surgeon on Friday. I am booked for a sleeve on 30/05/12 with Dr Justin Greenslade. It is very interesting to read the difference between the US system and ours. In Australia if you have a good level of private health insurance all you need is a referral from your general practitioner to see a surgeon, visit the surgeon and have any test etc that he/she recommends and book your surgery. We don't have to do a diet program since most of us have been through the whole weight loss industry by this stage. It's great to be on here and read all…
