Are there any support group in the Milwaukee Wisconsin area? I'm trying to find out if there are any. Just recently moved here and looking for a doctor for yearly check ups as well.

Are you able to gain muscle while on the low calories? I wanna be toned but not thin. Have any of you done this? Or is the caloric intake too low? I'm taking in about 70 grams of Protein daily. My scale says I've lost about 7% of muscle. I really really really want to keep my curves. Is gaining muscle possible?

Hey all! i just wanted to get review about surgeons at Kaiser in Northern California. anyone had their surgery here? how did it go?

If you're a member of Kaiser Permanente in So Cal, they have a great Bariatric Dept in West LA. They cover the surgery, also! Dr. Jorge Zelada was my surgeon; he was FANTASTIC!

Any opinions? good or bad?

Hi! Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with Dr. Michael Nusbaum in Morristown/Livingston NJ? He is who I plan on using and so far his entire office staff and Dr. Nusbaum have been very nice, patient and accommodating. He hasn't rushed me out of his office to see someone else and they take the time to talk and answer your questions and concerns. Has anyone had their surgery done by Dr. Nusbaum? I'm looking to just gain some other insight and perspectives from folks who have had him perform their surgeries. Any problems before, during or after? Thanks! Karen

Had my LAP BAND done on 11-26-2007 in Buffalo, NY at Buffalo General Hospital by Dr. Aaron Hoffman. I've have had no problems what-so-ever and the support from Dr. Hoffman has been FANTASTIC. He is the BEST doctor ever! I would recommend anybody from the Buffalo, Rochester, NY area to have Dr. Hoffman perform the BAND! GREAT DOC!:eek:

I just found out that my insurance plan, Aetna does allow bariatric surgery. So now I'm searching for any Doctors in my area that perform the Gastric Sleeve. So far I haven't found any. I guess I will call my insurance tomorrow. But has anyone from the Durango area had the Gastric Sleeve? And if so, who did it and how did it go?

Hey, is there anybody still around that was banded by Dr. Hadar Spivak in Houston. I was banded by him in May '06. In early '10, I decided to find a fill doc closer to home as I live in central Arkansas. I told myself if I ever had any concerns I would follow up with Dr. Spivak (he was good with this decision.) Well I'm concerned I may have some slippage. The fill doc I'm using doesn't do fluoroscopy, so it's been a couple years, I think it's time. I called Dr. Spivak's office and he has gone back to Israel and gave his patients to a couple other docs. Just wondering if anybody has any info on the what's, why's and when? Are there any sleevers out there that had their surgery done at McLaren Bariatric Center in Flint, MI? I am just starting the 6 month intitial stage and am researching hospitals. Any other references and success stories of good doctors and hospitals in the South Eastern Michigan area are greatly appreciated.

Has anyone else had trouble with communications at Hopkins Bayview recently? They were really responsive early on, but I've been trying to get a simple (but relevant) question answered since April. Rotating emails and phone calls a couple times per week, no one ever answers and none of my messages have been returned. It's definitely making me wonder if I'm going to be able to get the surgery before I have to start all over again. It also makes me really apprehensive about having surgery here now. Just wondering if anyone can share their experiences with being banded at NYU - my surgeon is Dr. Fielding - but I would not mind hearing about anyone or any aspect of the practice. Also, info about care on the day of surgery. I am in early stages of the process and have talked to Dr. Fielding about specifics i.e. does he prefer Lapband or Realize, should I expect same day procedure or overnight...those sorts of things.

Hello everyone my questions are...... Who was your gastric sleeve surgeon and how much stomach did he removed? I ask because i fear having too much of my stomach removed and won't be able to hold down enough food or fluids including Protein to keep my weight leveled and me from losing alot of hair. Is it hard to keep your weight at a curtain level once you are at your idea weight? Do you have to take multi Vitamins daily and how often. Thank you everyone

I am lying in the hospital bed waiting to go in for my revision surgery. I am so anxious to get it done so I can move along with my life. Anyone else booked for today ??

Can anyone give me insight on how a sleep study goes. My blood oxygen levels are low. I snore loud according to my other half so my doctor ordered a sleep study. Hopefully this is why my levels are down. My HCO3 level is high at 29. My O2 saturation is 94 . My pO2 is 70. Everything else is within normal range.

Has anyone here had Dr. Prachard and team from the university of Chicago hospitals perform their sleeve?
