If anyone is from the San Diego or surrounding areas Pacific Bariatric is a phenomenal place to go for your surgery. I had Dr. Eugene Rumsey as my surgeon and so far he has been very kind and is very knowledgeable.

Hi, I am nearing surgery, have just completed all medical clearance. I went to a seminar at Dr Atkinsons office, but its a ways out to get an appt to meet with him. I was also told by my pcp to look into Dr Umach. I have an appt with Dr Umbach on Monday. I would love to hear anybodies experience with either of these Dr's, or a rec to another Dr in the Area. this is harrrdddd. I am 3 days post op and dealing with the loss of my grandfather. (It happened the night of my surgery) I sit here while everyone else is being comforted by food knowing for the 1st time in my life...I can't. I have to own and feel these feelings. I'll be honest. It sucks. It hurts and all I want to go is grab a pizza and feel better for even a min...but I won't. I can't. And ...I know better. I am disappointed...that I feel hunger. I was really hoping I wouldn't. I pray it gets better. On the plus side..I have been very blessed so far to be able to handle my liquids well and even some of the protein drink. So I got horrible news today, my insurance will cover the surgeon and surgery but not the hospital stay. I called the hospital and they said they will not make payment arrangements because the surgery is elective. I had to stretch my budget to be able to pay my portion of the surgeons fee and don't think I can pay the hospital upfront. Does anyone know how much the hospital stay runs? the lady on the phone would not tell me. I'm so depressed, I've worked so hard to get this surgery, made all the lifestyle changes and did everything I was told, and now I might lose the surgery!

Have you had the surgery? Are you glad you had it? Anyone regret having it? What surgeon do you recommend in the Plano/Frisco TX area? I am in the very early stages of considering this surgery. I am a firefighter and as everyone knows the number one reason for firefighter death is cardiac arrest. I do not want to be part of that statistic. This doesn't seem to be broken down by geographic location, so hopefully someone knows something about Colorado doctors. I was thinking about Dr. Timothy Brown (Canon City, CO), but came across Michael Snyder (Denver, CO: http://denverbariatrics.com/default/our-practice/dr-snyder), and his prices seemed much better while offering the same services. Does anyone know about either one of these guys, or where I should post this question? Thanks

I met with a very nice person from Slimband last week, but I'm concerned about some of the stuff I've heard and read about that place. I can't say enough good stuff about Chrias and all the support. When I read some of the Gastric Bypass groups on Facebook and all of the online social groups and BBs, I feel much better informed and much better taken care of. Has anyone been sleeved by Dr Enochs in the Raleigh NC area ?

I went through the Beaumont weight control center for my surgery. They offer medically supervised weight loss programs, as well as getting you ready for wls. My surgeon was Dr Kevin Krause. I highly reccommend both Dr. Krause and the awesome dr's and practicioners at the weight control center.

I wanted to write a review about my hospital experience. I had my surgery October 24, 2013 by Dr. Charles Huddleston. Every appointment I had with him, before surgery, was informative, helpful, and considerate. He was extremely willing to talk about the different surgical procedures with both my mum and I. Has anyone out there used Dr. Smith in Park Rapids, MN? I had my consult in Feb, but because of my insurance, it's been kind of a drawn out process. I have my psych consult next week, then hopefully find out about approval and surgery date 1-2 weeks after I've already quit drinking pop and smoking almost 8 weeks ago, I'm pretty proud of myself because I've had a friend and a grandma pass away since then. Just wanted to know if anyone has been sleeved at BMI of Texas in San Antonio, the doctors listed there are Dr. Terive Duperier and Dr. Mickey Seger & what your experience was w/them or perhaps another San Antonio facility?? Best Ever... All pre-qualification appointments (during the Christmas Holidays) within 2 weeks including an extra MRI for a recheck of my Gall Bladder, then 25 days to approval... Elizabeth is the best and they know what they need to do to get approval..

I am looking into going with him but would like your experience with him, good or bad. I am self-pay. Also, did you have drain, how long stay in hospital, aftercare? I would be flying from out-of-state so need to get as much information as possible. Does he has a specific coofinator who works out of his office and NOT the recruiting type places? Live in Tallahassee, FL and I just got banded 5 days ago but my experience so far with him and his office staff has been great! The girls in the office are so sweet and worked very quickly to get my approval. I will update as time goes on but so far I am very pleased!

Used Pioneer Valley Surgical! Dr Haag is amazing! I had Band 4 years ago then issues. It was take. Out two years ago and I was just able to get Bypass on 1/23/14. He has a great team!

I am researching doctors in the DFW area and I have to use a doctor on my insurance plan (Humana Medicare Advantage-HMO). I am 65 years old and have been overweight for many years. I filled out the paperwork for one bariatric doctor and had an appointment with him until his office called and said he was not on my insurance. The doctors on my insurance are: Philip Swanson M.D.(Southlake, Texas) Craig Ferrara D.O. (Ft. Worth, Texas) and I think Frank Venniga (Carrolton, Texas). Does anyone know about these doctors or have a recommendation. I see my PCP next week to start the process. Thanks.

Hi I'm 18 months post-op. Had surgery in Mexico. Decided to have the surgery and 2 weeks later, was under the knife. Had a minor complication during surgery and no follow up care whatsoever. I was recently blessed with a great place to work and now have PPO insurance with Cigna. I was wondering if there are any VSG doctors you've worked with and would recommend? My two biggest concerns are (1) curing my acid reflux (recently on OTC lansoprazole 15mg once and sometimes twice a day) and (2) losing more weight (20-25 pounds). Would greatly appreciate your recommendations!
