Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals

I'm from Alberta and found a surgeon in Quebec, paid the consultation fee for a telephone conference two weeks time. We'll today was the day and he didn't call! Booked time off work for this call to be private. Does this happen a lot? For appointments to be juggle around a lot? I'm a self paying Canadian that wants a sleeve in Canada

I've had my hopes completely dashed that I could perhaps get the Sleeve done by my civilian doctor (thank you tri-care), so are there any MTFs that are nearby that someone can recommend that perform the VSG surgery? I live around the Redondo Beach area if that makes it easier for anyone.

I have been going back and forth on which doctor to go with...one thing I have noticed is that Dr Curry insurance lady knows her stuff and the people that I knew that went to him had to problem getting approved...but I know someone who went to Dr Watkins and said he is really nice person but that the people who did his insurance wasn't as up to date on how long to do the supervised diet because she found out from people at our job that she didn't have to do a 6 month supv diet.......I don't know what to do...Help.....

Anyone know of lap band dr in the US Virgin Islands? Thinking of moving there and was wondering if i would have to plan to go back to the main land if i needed something. I have been banded a long time so i don't go often, but I would like to plan contingencies if needed.

Hey ya'll, I'm kind of new to the forum & only a month into my 3 month supervised diet. I was wondering if anyone had any insight on Dr. Woodman with Midsouth Bariatric? I've only been able to find reviews from 2 years or older & mostly just gastric bypass (which he doesn't perform anymore) & Lapband... nothing on the Sleeve! Any info you may have regarding this surgeon would be greatly appreciated!

I need opinions on Felix spiegel. Has anyone been sleeved by him? I have read several reviews on his bed side manner and lap band but I'm concerned about how accurate he is as a surgeon as my surgery is scheduled with him on Jan 31 and I am considering canceling because of so many bad reviews about the lapband has ANYONE had the sleeve done by him

I should get my call this week to set my date and my final class. I admit I am actually getting some nerves, more impatience to start my journey than anything but still a Lil nervous that I will have a date and its just becoming real to me. Anyone out there who has has a gastric sleeve with Dr Turnquest?

As anyone used Dr Timothy Custer or had their surgery performed at FMC? I do know Dr Custer is a gifted surgeon. When I was 8 mos preg he operated on me and took out my gall bladder when it had a duct blocked. He was fantastic with that and the compassion he had with my unborn baby was just amazing! I'm just not sure what to expect with WLS and how he does it, or what FMC is like after surgery? I have a ton of questions to ask one of his former patients! Lol

Hi all. If all goes according to plan, I will be getting my sleeve in January by Dr. Peter Kwon. 1. During my endoscopy, they found a hiatal hernia, which they said could be fixed during the bariatric surgery. Has this happened to anyone else, and didn't cause additional problems after surgery? 2. I have a pretty bad panic disorder and I have depression. Does anyone else here have these and how did it affect you post-op? 3. sleep Apnea - did it completely go away?

I am located in Bowling Green, KY. At the time I had my LapBand Surgery, I was unaware of any WLS in my area. So I had mine done in Louisville, KY (about 2 hours away). I'm pre op and was wondering if Dr Rajan Sudan did anyone's sleeve. I've only met him once briefly and was wondering how your experience was with him or with Duke weightloss center in general. I'm nervous so please let me know.

For a few weeks now I have been having the shakes in my hands and arms. I told my PCP and he said he didn't think it was anything but to go see a neurologist. I asked the NUT and she said check your blood sugar, which I did and is normal. I then asked my Psych about meds since I have lost weight maybe it had something to do with it and he said no. My next step is to ask my chiropractor. It doesn't happen all the time. It feels like I have had a huge jolt of caffeine but haven't. Anyone else have this problem? Maybe dehydration?

I was supposed to be using Dr. Basa in Cedar Park for my lap band to sleeve revision and then at the last minute found out that I couldn't anymore and had to switch. So the only one that I could find that could get me in this late in the year was Dr. Michael Morris. He seems wonderful but has anyone used him or this hospital before?

Any surgeon ideas? After 7 months of testing diets and wating u just got a letter from my surgeons office that he is leaving the bariatric group of wich he is the director!! Help Help Help.... I have been on here trying to figure out a Dr. I should use in the Ft. Lauderdale area... I have a surgery date set for Dec. 4th but the more I have read about what other people have self paid I think I am being taken advantage of ... At first the price 20 grand, now its up to 23. And they are saying it is 16,000. just for one night in the hospital. I am ready to bail out... But I really want surgery. Seems most people are paying around 12 grand ...Please give me some names of GOOD doctors in the Ft. lauderdale area....PLEASE!!! HELP HELP HELP!

I had Dr.Stade in scottsbluff ne and she is awesome. She is kind, compassionate and a meticulous surgeon. She requires close follow up to ensure success. My incisions look great. She feel that this a team effort between her and her patients. I would recommend her to anyone.

Each time i find one im happy with i do more research into them and the surgeon seems to get good reviews, but the aftercare always gets slated.
