  2. Yes Isopure makes a Protein powder. I mix 1 scoop with 8oz of milk and it gives me a total of 33g of protein. I agree with everyone the clear isopure drinks taste awful, but the chocolate powder mixed with milk tastes like chocolate milk. There is no bad aftertaste.
  3. I had a awful time with Protein shakes until I tried Isopure chocolate. I would mix it with milk and it tastes just like chocolate milk. Also, try some hummus, refried Beans, and cheese.
  4. I understand your concern. I also have a child with a weight issue and I myself was heavy since kindergarten. I just wanted to let you know, that since my surgery I am always hungry. It takes all the will power I have to stick to eating 4 oz per meal and not snacking in between. I was just sleeved Jan. 8 2014. Maybe over time it will change, but right now that is one of the issues I am dealing with having my sleeve. So, if your daughter is hungry now, she still might have to deal with being hungry later. Everyone's body is different with the sleeve. I wish you and her the best.
  5. I know you started this in 2012, but I am going through the same thing. What ended up happening? Did the hunger go away once you started eating real food again?

  7. I had my surgery on 1/8/14 and I have been hungry from day 3 and on. I do find that if I drink something it takes it away for a while. But sometimes it is still there. That is when I drink a Protein drink. I'm sorry you are going through this also. But know you are not alone.
  8. I was sleeved a 1 1/2 weeks ago. I had that same problem. It only happened 3-4 times over a two day period and then it stopped. Hopefully, the same will happen for you.
  9. I had the same thing. Lots of Water and sudefed. Just no advil or asprin. My doctor told me as long as I have no fever or yellow/green mucus, surgery will go as planned.
  10. Thank you BestYet2Come! I will have to try a few of these out.
  11. Can anyone suggest what else I can do to get my Protein? I am 4 days out. I have tried Slim Fast Protein shake, Bariatric Advantage Protein powder, skim milk with 1/3c of powder milk. It all tastes awful to me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  12. I'm happy to have come across you post here. I am scheduled with Dr. Ing in 3 days (Jan. 8th 2014). You just eased my mind a bit about him. I realized I didn't do too much research on him, but I knew he had a Center of Excellence award. I thought my first meeting with him was very informative and thorough.
  13. I feel your pain. I am on day 11 on a three week pre-op liquid diet. My family just made awesome looking, while I got to eat Jello..... yum. I just keep reminding myself that at some point I will be able to chew food again. Happy New Year! 2014 is a great year for change.
  14. I am having the same feelings. I am schedule for Jan. 8th. I keep second guessing my decision, but I truly believe it is just nerves. Its not like I just made the decision to have the surgery. I started this back in Feb 2013. I had a 6 month waiting period where I had to attend meetings. I think the only thing getting me through this is constantly reminding myself why I wanted to get the GSV. My pros really out weighed the cons when I made my list. Good Luck and keep your eyes on the prize!

  19. So, this is my first post. I have been doing the pre-op liquid diet for the past 6 days. My surgery is scheduled for Jan. 8th. I just want to know if it is normal to feel cold and tired? I just can't seem to get warm and I am napping everyday.
  20. I am in the same boat. I am on day 2 of my three week pre-op. This is the hardest thing I have ever done. I hope it will get easier as the days go on.
