Seeing my surgeon again tomorrow hopefully get a surgery date!!!

Has anybody had the gastric sleeve surgery done in the Chicago land area? If so, can someone give me some recommendations? I'm going to a seminar at the University of Illinois medical center next week, but might wanna look into other hospitals for this procedure.

Just wanted to finally post my experience with Dr. Borland in Louisiana. I chose him because his self-pay price was only 9800 (my hubby wasn't comfortable with Mexico!) and he does the surgery outpatient (I had no desire to stay in the hospital) His receptionist isn't the friendliest woman in the world, but she does answer all questions you have. You get your pre-op testing done at home with your own doc. From the time I inquired about surgery to the date of my surgery was less than 1 month. You choose and pay for the hotel you stay at. I flew into New Orleans, and the drive to New Iberia was a few hours. You can also fly into Lafayette but its much more expensive.…

I'm pretty excited, I'm going to a seminar tomorrow in Austin hosted by Dr. Sashidhar Ganta. I also have an appointment with Dr. Kim in Dallas soon. Anyone have experience with either of these doctors? I will be self pay, and hope to have surgery in July.

I called the office before my surgery to arrange my post op care as I was having surgery out of the country. I had inquired about having surgery with the doctor but was told that I 'was not even close to qualifying'. I learned from the doctor post op that he would have accepted me and done my surgery here. Dr. Pennings is wonderful, unfortunately the staff that surrounds him is not. From every interaction, most especially with their scheduler, there has been a problem either with the information that I was given, or not given. Going to my "informational session" at Centegra in a couple of days. I'm an OR nurse, have done a lot of research, and have decided to have gastric sleeve surgery. If I can get insurance approval, that is. Anybody here with experience at this facility and/or with this surgeon? Thanks!

My surgeon will be Dr. Alex Gandsas he is from NJ and is now in Maryland. The hospital will be Anne Arundel Medical Center. He's a GREAT doctor! Has any one used him?

Dr Krahn and his partner Dr. Channing Chin are excellent in The Inland Empire Southern California. I had lots of previous scar tissue on my stomach with a chance they could not do the surgery. First thing I asked hubby when I woke up.Dr. Krahn explained the surgery, talked to me again before the surgery, Dr. Chin has done most of my post op appointments. Would like to connect with others in Georgia on this WLS journey. I have UHC and they require the hospital be a 5 star center of excellence and in my area that's only 2 hospitals. I absolutely love my surgeon thank goodness but the hospital in my opinion can use a major face lift. Credential wise I have no concern about the hospital just wish it was more pleasing to the eye with a bariatric floor. Several fellow Sleevers hospital of choice had a bariatric floor which I thought was awesome! At my hospital no bariatric floor and no complimentary Bari Bear LOL but I'm ordering mines on line.
