  5. Almost a year and a half after surgery I am finally in green. I've been feeling so great, band doing exactly what it's supposed to. I'm afraid its going to go away or something. 6. I know this is old but consider making the drive an hour south to CHRIAS in DE. They are wonderful.
  7. I joined one at my work and had similar reservations. I won the first round and didn't place (1st, 2nd, 3rd) in the second round! I think it would be fine to participate!

  9. I love my ninja with the personal sized cups.
  10. I use this one. Very happy with it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003MSZBSI/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?qid=1399296093&sr=8-7π=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70
  11. I can't tolerate them either. Nor stevia. It's definitely hard. One thing I love is unjury unflavored. It's one of the only unflavored protein powders that doesn't taste terrible. I sometimes blend it with plain Greek yogurt, maybe 1/2 banana, powdered PB and maybe unsweetened cocoa. Makes a decent shake that's really high protein and pretty low cal.
  12. I love black beans with garlic and cayanne, topped with roasted chicken breast, hot sauce and a 2 Tbsp of guacamole. On days when I need more "mositure" I do a tbsp or two of light sour cream (20-40 cals) I basically took my formerly beloved chipotle burrito bowls and took out the high calorie food I didn't "need" it's been working well. It's satisfying for me. Also almost anything you used to eat in a tortilla can be eaten in a Bibb or butter lettuce wrap.
  13. Definitely consult your doctor to see if there's a bigger problem/ deficiency. You should have been doing multi vitamin all along. I take prenatal vitamins and extra biotin and it's done wonders for my nails and hair.
  14. We have this one. Very happy with it. Thin and sleek and easy to use. It blends right in so we keep it out for frequent use. I definitely wish I had gotten one sooner. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003MSZBSI/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?qid=1399263149&sr=8-3π=SX200_QL40

  16. Bumping an old thread. I LOVE bentos! My lap band blog is slowly evolving into a bento showcase. Anyone else have a blog/ pinterest full of bento ideas? I find that many regular bento blogs include a bunch of food I can't eat (bread, tortilla, rice). thefatgirlthin.blogspot.com

  19. Please seek someone you can talk to without judgment. It's not normal to feel that way. This is an exciting journey to a healthy new you. There are some frustrating bumps but it's not good to feel that way. A therapist, friend, clergy? Maybe your family doctor? Are you getting your Vitamins? B complex and D make me feel much better in the mood/ energy dept.
  20. It officially has to do with amount you can eat, how quickly you eat, any pain/discomfort/vomiting and how often/when you're hungry. After a while I started to be able to tell when I needed a fill and I often suggest how much. My surgeon has always agreed so far. I fill out a checklist at the surgeons when I go for a fill that is supposed to help gauge. You sound like you're at a good level right now. I have 6.75 cc in an 11cc band.
  21. Does anyone else have a lap band related blog? I find it to be great for accountability and would love to follow new band bloggers! I've been on a real bento kick lately so a lot of my blogging has been around bento meals but I've been kicking around some other thoughts for future posts. I'd love to read your band journey blog! thefatgirlthin.blogspot.com
  22. I was banded in Oct 2012. I've lost 64 lbs so far. I'd love to have an experienced mentor or buddy. Email support preferred. I also have a blog thefatgirlthin.blogspot.com
  23. My surgeon does my fills and he always gets it on the first shot, and always gives lido. My wife has been having some port pain and he said they may have to take a look at it. Did you have a lot of problems with your other port placement?
