Nutrition & Nails

I'm nearly 2 1/2 years out. I've noticed my nails are 'cracking & splitting' - both finger & toes. It's bad. They are tearing way down in the quick. Almost (accidentally) ripped a toe nail right off a short while ago. Anyone else have this kind of trouble? What am I deficient in? I don't take any multivitamins or supplements but I obviously need to start. Any suggestions?

Check with your nutritionist? It's always a good idea to meet with the nut once every year or two anyway.

Nails will reflect any nutrition/medical issues. You need vitamins. And don't expect it to be corrected overnight. Nails take 6 months to a year to recover from stuff. (I'm a nail tech). Take a multi and one for hair, skin and nails.

Definitely consult your doctor to see if there's a bigger problem/ deficiency. You should have been doing multi vitamin all along. I take prenatal vitamins and extra biotin and it's done wonders for my nails and hair.
