  2. Hi, I just need a place to rant. My fiance is so supportive but ultimately doesn't understand how I feel about this. I had my band placed back in 2012. I did great the first 5 years. I lost a total of 115 lbs. I started getting sick back in 2017. A year and a half later I found out it was my band, it had eroded. I had emergency surgery to have the band removed last September. Now I am in a HUGE situation. I have gained back all the weight and plus some, have high uncontrollable blood pressure, fatty liver disease, severe edema, chest pain, knee pain, and back pain so bad that I am unable to do anything. I try to go to the gym and workout but I am in so much pain physically I just can't do it. I reached out to my insurance to see if they would help me get a second surgery. Well even after letters from 7 of my Dr's, they denied my appeal for help, not once, but twice!!! I have no quality of life in my eyes and they are unwilling to help. I don't know what to do or where to turn. I am scared to go to Mexico because of the "super bug" infection that is down there, my friends sister got it and she has been miserable ever since. I screwed up my credit when I was young and dumb so a loan is not an option. I feel like I am trapped in this body and there is no hope. Again sorry for the rant, but if anyone has any ideas or suggestions, I welcome them! Thanks
  3. Looking for a good bariatric surgeon with reasonable self pay prices. Preferably in the Utah area but can be anywhere. Any help would be great!
  4. Hi. I got my band placed in 2012. I had great success with it. I lost about 125lbs. At the beginning of 2017, I began getting very sick and unable to tolerate anything by mouth and would get terrible cramping in the left side of my abdomen. After a year and a half of playing the what could this be option, I finally got my primary Dr to order a GI consult and get an upper GI scope. The scope in fact found that my band had eroded into my stomach! I went to my bariatric surgeon and he removed it in Sept of 2018. Since that time I have gained back all of my weight plus much more. My insurance is refusing to pay for another surgery. I am having so many more co-morbitities now then before I had the band placed. Plus I am having more pain in the left side of my abdomen where my band was. Plus its so weird it feels like a baby is moving in that same area, but I am not pregnant. I am looking to find somewhere to get the gastric sleeve done for a decent self pay price. If anyone knows of anywhere I would greatly appreciate the info. Thanks!!!

  6. Holy Cow this has been a horrible weekend! So for the first time since my surgery on 6/11/12, I had to face my emotional eating problem. I got into a huge fight with my sister and have been sad and upset since Thursday. Well before surgery when I was upset I would turn to food as my comfort and my support. I have tried doing this the last 3 nights and have just ended up making myself sick! Well with the band I wasn't able to over eat as you all know, so I decided to "drink" my comfort with milkshakes, sugary lemonaide, etc.... Then I was on the phone tonight with a friend and I was explaining my bad mood, and bad decisons and asked in a frustrated voice "I don't know what to do about my emotions, I want to eat, but I can't, I feel sick from all the crap!!" She then replied, "ummmm, why didn't you just go to the gym"? LIGHT BULB burst on in my head shouting you idiot, that is such a better allternative! I honestly never even thought about it! Thank heavens for outside thoughts and opinions! As I type this my stomach hurts and I feel like crap, but honestly I learned a very valuable lesson, the next time I find myself facing this same situation I will remember my friends words and "just go to the gym"! Thank heavens that tomorrow is a new day and new chance to reclaim my weight loss from last week, which I am sure I have gained back plus some after my poor me pity party I threw this weekend.
  7. I am struggling with this exact thing myself right now. I know things will get better for us, we just have to stick to our bubs and hang in there! Good luck.
  8. I had surg 6/11/12, I have been doing so good. I am down 20lbs thus far. I went for my first adjustment last week, but the Rn said I was doing so good she wanted to watch me for another 2 weeks. Well the last 2 days I have been really struggling. I feel like I am constantly hungry and tonight when I ate dinner, I didn't stop when I felt satisfied, I stopped when I felt full. Now I am hurting and beating myself up over it. Is it normal to have days where you just don't feel satisfied? I feel like I have now failed and have ruined everything and let everyone down.
  9. I get my first fill tomorrow. I am nervous but excited!
  10. I was banded on 6/11/12, I immediately started seeing results and lost 13 in the first 3 weeks, but over the course of the last week I have very slowly started to gain some lbs back, its only 3 or 4, but I am now paranoid that I am doing something wrong. Is it normal to go up and down like this?
  11. So I know about staying clear of bread, rice and pasta what about tortillas?
  12. I was banded on 7/11/12, things have been going really well and have felt vet optimistic and upbeat ever since the surgery, until today that is. I don't know if its just feeling run down since going back to work, who knows. Anyone else feel this way?
