  1. Dr. Burpee in Tucson did mine in March 2015. The whole office is excellent. Very responsive and supportive.

  3. One week out and I am with you. The burps are painful too. Can't get the recommended water in yet. Guess the sleeve is still too swollen.
  4. My sleeve was done on 3/3. I am having a super hard time slipping enough fluids. I got in 24oz yesterday. I find I am burping alot. Does anyone else burp after drinking an oz or two? I sure hope this gets better.

  6. The 600LB Life Show is interesting but I wish it went into showing the mental side of this and that many of these people need some serious theraphy. Not just diet and excercise. I worry about the message it send to people at time as well. However, I still keep watching I'll have to check out the BBC show FatDoctors.

  8. It was super easy. I did need someone to drive me home. The drug they used made me slow thinking for a few hours. I was a bit sore where they took a biopsy. But overall very quick procedure.
  9. Does anyone have a good phamplet or something I can print out to give to my family members who are interested in learning the basics about the gastric sleeve operation. They are not tech savy so I can't just point them to a website. Looking for something that might help ease their worries about surgery. Thanks!

  11. My request was sent through to BCBS Federal on Friday 01/23/15. Anxiously awaiting their response. I had to do the 6 month supervised visit, psych consult, nutritionist visit, and endoscopy. I got through all of these hurdles and am hoping it is enough. *Fingers crossed*
  12. This seems simmilar to a way a narciscist would react. Making it about her and then not honoring your personal boundaries request. My mom is simmilar and I have decided I can't tell her. She isn't a positive influenece and would tell everyone in town related or not.
  13. So what happens if you don't pass. More theraphy and then take it again?
  14. Wishing you luck! My packet goes to BCBS Federal in late January. I can't wait to find out if they will approve it. So many hoops to jump through!
  15. I am in the same boat. I had to do the 6 month of doc visits (BCBS Federal) to discuss weight loss. I am at month 5 of this fun and hovering between 40 and 41 BMI. I have lost 20 lbs and I am so frustrated that this stupid number could prevent me from qualifying for this surgery. I've been told by my primary not to lose more. I did get recently diagnosed with sleep apnea so I don't know if that will be a factor or not. I've struggled with weight loss and always end back up at the same 240-250lbs range over the past 14 years. I am so ready for a change! That's my rant! Hoping BCBS will approve me in late January.
