Hi everyone. Learned today that Bcbs federal received my packet yesterday. 33 pages!! It's currently under review. Anyone have an idea how long it takes to get a decision? Gosh!! This is stressful!!

For me it was only two days!

Yay! I have BCBS Fed and it took about 8 days so don't get discouraged if it takes a little while!

Me too,I had my last appt on Wednesday. It will happen, I wish we didn't need to get prior authorization.

Yea, that sucks. My approval only took 6 days so hopefully you won't have to wait much longer. Keep me posted!

I have BCBS through the state (not federal) and while there was a change of staff at my surgeon's office which caused a delay, my surgery was approved instantaneously over the phone. Most offices fax it in though, so you will have to wait a lot longer if that's the case. I specifically told my surgeon's office (after all the delays) that BCBS will approve me instantly over the phone if they wouldn't mind calling instead of faxing, luckily there was someone in the office who knew about that and she got it done.

Good Luck I was approved in less the 24hrs I have BCBS Feds

My BCBS of Western NY told me 3 business days. It took me an extra day because of Labor Day, but it was 3 business days after they got my paperwork.
