I'm also 12/18 for RNY.

I'm on day 6 of my pre-op diet. I've been sticking to it, only cheated once, but that's because I was about to pass out at work and ate half a PB&J. I am FREAKING OUT that my liver isn't going to be small enough. I get ATLEAST 90g of Protein a day, and ATLEAST 120 oz of liquid... Water, broth, Protein Shakes, and Jello is all I have except my 2 low carb meals a week I'm allowed to have, and so far that's been chicken and veggies, and the other a salad. But I still am so scared that my liver won't be small enough and I won't get the surgery on 12/18. I'm going for RNY.

Hey y'all! I have RNY scheduled for December 18th. I'm currently on no birth control or anything. Obviously, as we all know, it's not recommended to get pregnant for ATLEAST 12-18 months after surgery.. with that being said, who got on birth control after surgery? My period is currently extremely irregular, I don't ovulate, so the 5 years me and my husband have been having sex, we've never used any form of pregnancy prevention (not even pull-out method) and I've never got pregnant. After surgery, I'm sure losing the weight will change my menstrual cycle and possibly even start ovulation. So, my question is, which birth control? I'm scared to get on birth control because the few times I have got on it, I've gained weight. The last time I was put on it, I was on it for 2 months and gained 15 lbs. So that's definitely not what I want seeing as I'm having surgery. So is birth control a good option? Or just use condoms and pull-out method and be extra careful? ( I want a baby ASAP but don't want a dangerous pregnancy so trying to wait as long as the surgeon suggests)

Yes we will! I'm on a facebook group also, and they're very encouraging! Can't wait to see our results.

I'm a 21 year old from SC, currently going through divorce from a very emotionally, mentally, and verbally abusive man. I have been trying to lose weight the past 5 years, and every time I tried my ex would accuse me of cheating. Now that he's finally out my life, I am taking control! I work as PST at a local hospital, and when I'm not at work caring for my patients, I love gardening and spending time with my family. I have PCOS, borderline diabetic, and knee and back problems due to my weight. I've tried Adipex, and many other different ways to lose weight (currently on a low-carb diet), and nothing is working for me. I'm self conscious, depressed, and I just feel disgusted with myself. I'm currently 315 lbs. I have my first appointment to start my journey on Oct 9th! I am SO excited!!

I'm going October 9th to start my journey (my 1st apt) for the Gastric Sleeve, and was wondering how others experience/journey went? I'm going to Palmetto Health Weight Management Center.
