As the title says, I've had a bad week. For the entire week I feel like I've slipped into old habits. I've eaten 1500-2000 calories per day every day this week, and it seems like I have been pushing my sleeve to eat more, and I feels like I can't stop. I am vowing to get back on track tomorrow (Monday) and start a new week, however, I hadn't wanted to screw up this whole week to begin with either, so I feel like I am losing my willpower and I am afraid I won't be able to get back on track. I have been pretty successful, losing 50 lbs in 3 months, with only a "bad" day here and there, but I gained 3 1/2 lbs back just this week by screwing up. I've still got such a long…

Well..I know this topic has been hammered into the ground..but I wanted to add to the list . Grapes are my slider food..I can eat a couple of fist fulls of grapes without pain or anything..I guess if it had to be a slider food..it was a healthy slider food! I just have to watch it down the road if I stall..

I'm not sleeved yet, but the pre and post op diet freaks me out a little. Sugar free this, fat free that....I like to eat clean, and this does not fall in line with that. I'm sure that a couple of months of that diet won't kill me, but did anyone out there feel like me? Did you do anything different? Thanks!!

Don't know why I didn't think of this sooner. I have been looking for free samples online for months. I have managed to get by, but I have no job--not for lack of trying...I have no family, no help, and two special needs children at home. I have managed to get by, but truly wish I had some of the real bariatric foods and samples. They don't have them anywhere around where I live or go to support groups. If anyone has anything that they would like to pass on, I would be very happy to take it off your hands. I can really use it. I am hoping to find some chicken soups and things like that, as well as other shakes and maybe even some meats and things...vitamins, supple…

I'm 7 days out, and every time I put something in my stomach, I get gas moving around, and it makes it tough to take another bite. I think there is still gas from the surgery in there. I am moving around often enough that lack of walking is not the issue. Anyone else experience anything similar? I sure hope it isn't the liquid diet foods causing me gas--or if it is, that it's temporary and gets better.

I'm one week post op today and I'm so tired of clears and I can't seem to tolerate isopure to get in my protein. I'm ready for some protein shakes. Just curious as to when everyone else made the switch from Strict Clear to Full Liquids?

I'm at a ballpark and I ate a soft pretzel. All by myself. Over an hour. Why did I do that? It wasn't necessarily delicious... I wasn't necessarily hungry Five months out and still mess up. And I even know that "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels"

I ran across a great yogurt for sleevers who don't like Greek yogurt. It's Kroger Carbmaster. One six ounce container is 60 calories, 8g protein, 4g carbs and 1.5g fat. Really great flavors and inexpensive.

I did a search, but I don't see any recommendations for a shaker bottle for my shakes. There are so many out there? Is one better than another? I used a blender, but it made my shake too frothy. Thanks.

I tend to still eat quick but am trying my hardest to slow down. I just had lunch and it's taken me an hour. I had a Vita Weat lunch slice with avocado, cheese, tuna and sliced tomato. I've now started taking my Breakfast with me to have at work (the days I go into the office) as previously would get up at 6.00am, eat and start getting ready at 6.30am, which was too rushed.

Hello out there in VSG land! I have heard different stories of how your tastes change post op. Things that you once liked are now not tolerated or wanted etc. What has been your experience? Should you stock up on shakes that you like now, or wait and test it out? Did you crave different things? How many of you are now lactose intolerant? Did it go away? And heartburn- I don't think I have ever had it- Thanks!! Sleeving on October 18th!!!

I had my surgery Aug 20th and I started my soft food stage but I am so confused. I don't know what to eat and I have gotten some ideas from the forum. What I don't get is am I suppose to blend ( puree) every single thing I eat. I can't see how to puree chicken or ground beef? I imagine it must look something awful plus does the tuna and tilapia need to be pureed too? What about macaronnie and cheese would that be something I can eat? Does the chillie need to be blended too? I also someone posted eating corn beef hash, was that also blended or could it be eaten out of the can. I am desperate for some answers. I will be extremely thankful for your advice.

Hi! I'm looking for blender suggestions. Ideally I'd like something relatively inexpensive ($60 or less) that isn't ginormous. I'll mainly use it for shakes and purée post-op. I thought buying a blender would be pretty simple, but 'Geez Louise!', so many choices!!

As tomorrow approaches I feel happy excited, scared, anxious and intimidated all kinds of emotion are running thru me. I start my optifast tomorrow and im so nervous about it. Is it weird that im not scared of having the surgery (probably cuz ive been under the knife about 3 other times), but this liquid diet got me on edge, I guess if I didnt have to cook for my kids I would feel a little better. So I had my last real meal today, it was steak potato and veggies as of 8am tomorrow I will b on the grind with this liquid diet, I kno I will need words of encouragement to get thru. At least I have a friend who had the surgery about 4yrs ago she's willing to go on a liquid die…

Any suggestions on how to get in 100 g protein and stay under 600 calories a day? I'm on solids, but I figure there's no way to do this without at least 2 protein shakes a day...not much room for food.

Never even heard of such a thing before in my life. But I was at a flea market today and this lady was making some so we bought a piece. I ate a tiny little bite and yes, it tasted exactly how it sounds. If you like chocolate (yes) and you like bacon (yes yes) it's good. In my past life I would have bought every piece she had, but I took my little bite and got out of there. Went home and grilled some stuffed jalapeños with shrimp and fat free cream cheese....yum yum. Also had a couple of bites of veggie chips and homemade guacamole. I love it that I can eat sensibly and still enjoy it.

Finally under 200 !!! Weighed in at 199 this morning...I had been stuck at 202 for over 3 weeks. It was so frustrating. I saw my nutritious on Tuesday. She looked over my daily intake (I log everything in on my fitness pal). The told me to get 80 protein, 800 calories, and under 50 carbs a day. I was only getting my protein up to the 50's and my carbs were up in the 70-80 range. I made the adjustments, and immediately I started loosing again. My surgery date was 8/7/12. I feel like I'm back on track now.

I saw a Youtube video of this girl that bought the Gerber lil' crunchies mild cheddar puffs. She said she had been eating them during her puree stage... She assumed they were fine since A.) they are for babies and B.) they completely melt or disinegrate ... Does anyone think that they would be safe to have during puree stage? They come in some yummy sounding flavors... My NUT takes a long time to reply to email

I was sleeved at end of July and lost about 43 lbs. I have had no problem eating or drinking, but i just hit a brick wall. Slowly over the last few days, my taste buds are dead. Everything i eat or drink tastes poisoned with bug spray or weed killer. I have been crushing my medicines and that has tasted horrific. I was wondering if that did it, or is this common to wls patients?
