I am 5 days post op and I know I'm not getting enough protein in. I'm adding a spoonful of unflavored protein to my 4 oz of broth a couple of times a day, but that's not even a packet. I made a Chike protein shake and put it in the freezer to chill. Is that ok? If not, are there any protein drinks I can drink? The Isopure is gross but I'll drink it if I have to.

I had my revision from Lap-band to the Sleeve on Aug 15th... My portions are 1/4 to 1/2 cup and I can't ever finish a 1/2 cup. I've read so many posts about people who can't eat or keep food down at this point, etc. It seems towards the end of the day I start feeling 'hungery"... anyone else expirence this? I dont know how it would be possible, but have I maybe stretched my pouch? -Emily

  5. Hello All I have a few questions. I am getting ready to have surgery on Spet 25. I am having a bad time finding a powder protein powder that does not taste like crap. I also wish I could find a site on the internet that might sell different kinds. I had a friend tell me about pea protein powder has anyone used this? What are some good reciped or sited you could reccomend with post op diets/ What did you eat for the first 2 weeks I am stressing I feel like I need to find more info out??? thank you (:

  6. I just tried the Pure Protein Chocolate RTD shake. I did not care for it much -- it was not horrible but I didn't think I could get down more than a few sips. So I doctored it up and it came out GREAT! Its VERY filling so I know after surgery this will be 3 meals ( at least). I think I will try adding some Unjury unflavored protein powder to boost protein. I've never tasted the protein powder -- I hope it doesn't ruin it! Here is what I did using Hamilton Beach Personal Blender I added the following to Chocolate Pure Protein Shake 1/4 banana 1 tablespoon Sugar Free Banana Cream pudding 1-2 tablespoons plain Greek Yogurt 1/5 cup of Hood low carb milk 1/2 te…

I am 3 weeks post op and trying so hard to get calories in. I am cleared to have tender meat and ground meat, but every time I do I literally feel like I'm going to throw up. I need to sit there for about twenty minutes until the discomfort goes away. Has anyone else experienced difficulty like this? Does it ever get easier to eat?

I'm running out of ideas for lunch... For breakfast I've been doing shakes w/fruit. Snacks like, String cheese w/fruit, Celery & peanut butter, Cottage cheese w/fruit, Almonds, Hard Boiled egg w/fruit.. And shakes for dinner but I don't really eat lunch and I know I need to... idk what to do for it though..

I can get plenty of protein in at meals but the only really high protein snack I've come up with is Greek yogurt with s scoop if protein powder in it...then I divide it in two and have two snacks each with 18 grams of protein. BUT I'm at my breaking point with yogurt now...the sight if it makes my stomach turn. Any suggestions for other high protein snacks??

  11. I am just back from a day night date with my hubby!! We went to Fredricksburg, TX for some fun, relaxation, shopping and FOOD! I was really worried how this was going to go.... First day there - we went to Mamacita's for lunch. He ordered the crispy taco plate and been and cheese nachos. I ate one taco (shredded beef and cheese with hotsauce) and half of a nacho! It was wonderful, tasty and I was stuffed! He ate the rest plus 2 beers and several beautiful home made tortillas!! For dinner - we went to a great German restaruant - and he had the Schnitzel Kase, and I was dismayed to see very little I could eat. I settle on the Klopse meat balls (beef and pork) a…

Ah life of a truck driver (who had RNY)... Also since my husband has also had RNY and follows my lead when eating (for the most part) and has also regained I really need to refocus myself... 17. Someone told me that Doritos are a terrible thing to eat with the sleeve, worse than alcohol for your new stomach. Obviously, they are fattening, but that is not what I am referring to. Anyone??

  18. We who eat a high protein diet are aware of the effects. Now we know more about the mechanics of it. What's even better is that signaling satiety is just one benefit of protein. http://www.naturalnews.com/037057_protein_satiety_overeating.html

Hi all. Had my sleeve done July 31st. Yesterday was my first time eating real food in 8 weeks. Tried sushi and it was WONDERFUL! My sleeve handled it well. Treated myself once...now, healthy eating here on out! Super excited and I crave good foods now. Have no desire for fried or greasy. Thank God. Just had to post for all the sushi lovers out there.

  31. I'm about 5 weeks out and eating solids. Not very many people know, and I'm finding it harder and harder to figure out social situations where food is involved. We're going to a BBQ tomorrow and I think it'll be tri tip. I can probably eat that, but I'll be full in 2 bites. I had half of a sausage link this morning and was stuffed. Solid, dense Protein isnt easy right now. Soup's a good idea, but it's going to be hot so that would be weird to bring... 33. Hi All! I came across this cute lil chocolate shop in Singapore though, that is making cakes, chocolates and icecream with Wheylow sugar. I bought some to try, and as advertised, they are right, it taste exactly like sugar, there is no strange artificial sweetener after taste! This is the link for your referencing. http://www.wheylow.com/Default.asp Disclaimer: I've not done much research on this yet, if you have any feed backs that this is bad for me, please alert me IMMEDIATELY. I'm just excited to share this with everyone! PS: I do not own this company by the way. Cheers, Gwynne.

She really is trying to understand this all and help me with my future food choices. She's worried about my puréed food stage. So, yesterday she gave me an early birthday gift. She bought me a super blender that just grinds up everything. She really wants me to be able to put whatever the family is eating into the blender so I can have 'real' food while on the purée stage. In my family, food=love. She's trying. Without food, she's lost- so this is her next best way.

I'm 8 weeks out from surgery and having trouble introducing new foods. Apparently in now lactose intolerant. I can handle cheese but not yogurt or milk. Also meats don't sit very well with me either. Fruits and veggies hurt my pouch and shakes make me gag now. I've been eating mostly eggs, beans, and cheese every day and getting so sick of it! Any suggestions? Also we eat almost every meal away from home... So grab and go is the best for us!

I see lots of posts on here about nausea. I read somewhere that peppermint helps. I have found that my multi-vitamin, no matter when I take it, makes me nauseous. Most recently I discovered that sucking on a sugar free peppermint makes it go away immediately. This has also worked for me when a food has not agreed with me. I just thought I would share in case anyone else is having the same issues. I wish I would have tried this months ago!
