hey guys! I saw this made for tv commercial about a tool that slices zucchini, etc do that the veggies look like noodles. For the life of me, I can not remember the name. Does anyone know the name of this product or know of a similar type of product? It produced curly "noodles" out of the veggies.

I'm 7 months post op from bypass surgery and I'm still not able to tolerate meats unless it's ground meat. I'm thinking about changing to a vegetarian diet and was hoping to get some meal suggestions... I also do not tolerate fish well... Are there any good vegetarian dishes that anyone can recommend?

  3. Started by moddd,

When did you start eating fruits again? I'm six weeks post op and craving oranges like nobody's business! I just want to suck the juice out of the skin!!

  4. Started by Halfpint1218,

Hi all! I'm doing great, but I've started to really crave veggies. I was sleeved on 12/18 and I will still be on mushy food for a few days. With getting in protein, I haven't been able to get much of the veggies in. How have you handles this?

  5. Started by kstokes,

I was sleeved on April 15,2014 and was just curious how others went about their two week full liquid diet. Did any one slip up and eat something that wasn't necessarily a full liquid? I know it's ideal to follow the diets they give you but I didn't know if people progressed as tolerated.

  7. I lost 90# and I'm 3 yrs. post op. 6 months ago I was put on an antidepressant [sNRI] and have gained 25# without changing my eating habits. I know weight gain can be a side effect of this class of meds and now am off of them, but still can't lose weight. Anyone have a similar experience and/or any advice? Thanks bunches!

I have discovered Hickory Smoked Bacon Jerky by Trails Best, with the Duck Dynasty folks on the package. Each oz. contains 11 grams of Protein, 1 carb, and 8 grams of fat. Talk about getting your chewing fix!

  9. Started by Kaggin,

I am about 8 weeks out and on solid foods now. I have noticed when I eat, no matter what it is, my stomach feels uncomfortable like a bloated semi queasy feeling almost. Am I eating too fast? Not chewing enough? Is anyone else having this issue?

Hello, Fellow Sleevers! I'm just looking for some new ideas to go to when I haven't planned a meal (sometimes it happens). So far I go for a 'Lunchables' and ditch the crackers. I'll eat the meat and cheese only, dip them in some mustard, and sometimes throw in some fruit or Protein chips if I'm really hungry, but that's getting old. I love to cook, but I'm single and my new pouch is even more wasteful of prepared foods so I've been trying to learn how to freeze/reheat. My question is: What are some tricks of the trade for quickie meals? Down 35lbs. as of today! WOO HOO!

Had surgery Thursday so I am post op day 2. I've managed to get the following in but pretty sure I am no where near goal. Suggestion please. Also, it is expected not to make goal the first week right??? Herbal tea - 1/2 of mug 2 sugar free Popsicles 1/2 cup of cream chicken Soup 3/4 of a pure Protein shake ( 23g) 1/2 of Atkins Shake (15g) Power aid zero (just a small amount) Definitely not enough Water. I feel like I've sipped all day long. I even feel kind of full. I've had pain and belching with most sips. Gas is mobilizing so that helps. I hope this gets easier or I'll never make protein or Fluid goals. Is this normal for just home from hospital. Te…

I am only 10 days post-op from a Gastric Bypass. So on a full liquid diet now. Yesterday I went out to get my eye checked I brought with me my Protein shake to last for two meals and my Water. I ended up out longer than I thought and shake got warm and gross and I didn't want it. So at first got upset then thought ok I can run to grocery store and get a yogurt. While at giant Eagle I saw they had homemade chicken noodle Soup and decided to skip yogurt and buy just the broth from the soup. I was double proud of myself for sticking to my plan and also having the courage to stand there and ladle out just the broth and proudly walk to counter and buy it. I was wonde…

I'm posting in post-op because I want to know what people REALLY use to be successful. Did anyone buy anything (measuring cups/special sized containers/etc) that they really like/find useful to staying on track? Does anyone journal their food/keep a food/activity log? Does anyone use the Fitbook? It's kind of expensive but seems like it would be a really consistant way to track everything daily.

My surgery was April 9, 2014, and I am entering my week 6 food progression. My husband and I will be driving to Florida this weekend, and I'm having difficulty coming up with ideas of portable Protein foods that don't require refrigeration or heating. So far I've come up with Protein Bars, and that's about it. Any suggestions? My latest allowed additions to my diet. Still no fresh veggies or fruit.

  26. THE BASICS BOOTCAMP VERSION 2 (5.2.2014) RULES: The most important rule is you must follow the rules for it to work. It's only 5 days, you CAN do it! For 5 STRICT DAYS eat only AS MENTIONED BELOW... If you are desperate to get back on track this WILL work, but again you MUST follow the rules EXACTLY. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Proteins: Seafoods, Poultry (skinless and fat trimmed) and eggs (no or half yolks only and not more than 1 yolk per day), Dairies (No more than 2% milk fat), nuts/seeds including Peanut Butter (No more than 1 serving or 1 Tbsp PB only). Veggies: As much as you can get in. Tomatoes are fruit. Fruits: None. …

Thispost is mainly for accountability more than anything else. I started soft food this past thursday. Since then I have ate several things I should not have. The worst of them all and the smack to my head was when I actually ate a bite of cookie last night. I just spent what I consider to be a large sum of money, altered my body for life, and made a commitment to myself. Yet, here I sit typing. I started this morning determined to stick to my plan. If its not protein its not going in mouth. I think I need motivation.

  30. Okay so we all know that it is just healthy to stay hydrated whether you are trying to lose weight or not but why should we feel guilty if we don't meet our minimum daily requirement? I don't know if I have ever met my MDR and so far so good. I can see that it's supposed to keep you full thus making you eat less calories. That is a nice theory but that doesn't really work in reality. At least not for me anyway...when my stomach asks for food...it won't settle for less. Wondering about this, I decided to turn to good ol' google for some advice regarding this and this is what I came up with: http://www.webmd.com/diet/news/20040105/drinking-water-may-speed-weight-loss h…

In short I'm scared to eat... I've plateaued but am also worried about stretching out my stomach. I kept a food diary for a weekend so my Dietician could see and she said i wasn't eating enough... Probably on average less than 500cals a day. But I'm not seeing her any more (at least not yet)... Eating has also become some what of a chore... Knowing what will and won't sit properly etc... I don't want to see the psychologist but I'm contemplating it. I was diagnosed with an eating disorder a few years back, and started going through treatment but stopped for various reasons. Usually the hunger hits in the afternoon/ evening, and while drinking something hot gene…

So I decided to log my food on MLP and it totaled 395 calories today. I mean I wasn't hungry. Feel fine but is this ok? I always heard of "starvation mode". As long as this is ok I'm fine but I don't want to be causing more harm than good. It's hard because the things we 're allowed to eat are so few calories. sugar free Jello, broth, yogart, etc. it doesn't add up to very much. Help!!!

So, what is your typical day like food wise? I am at about 8 months post op and down 106 lbs since the beginning of my journey. About 85 lbs. since surgery day. I have a basic routine as far as what I eat but I am curious what everyone else does. I am still loosing but not like I want to. I am still doing my walking and bike riding but want to expand on my meals. Here is a typical day for me: 2 scrambled eggs and turkey sausage link for Breakfast. Protein shake on the way to work. Protein Bar mid morning. 2.5oz tuna pack for lunch protein bar midafternoon dinner varies but always high in protein like turkey, fish or chicken. Protein bar or shake midevening b…

Used to eat and eat and eat until I was miserable. I would sit on my couch in my misery and feel guilty about what I had just done to myself. I would say I wouldn't do it any more then a couple days or weeks later I would do it Ll over again. This was how I got to 320 pounds by age 31. Well 30 days ago I had my sleeve done. Gone are the days of eating five sushi rolls. BUT, I still have the guilt. I just had 3 ounces of thinly sliced roast beef with one laughing cow cheese wedge spread on it. I am full. Not miserably of course, but full. I still have the guilt!!! I feel like I shouldn't have eaten so much even though I know I'm well within plan. Does anyone else ha…

Know I need my protein, and being 21 months out and losing 90 pounds has been great, but I really would love to get to 145. I'm 5'6" and 160 now. I've started working out 4 days a week and wonder if changing up my diet for one month may help?!? Really unsure on what to do. I'm strictly low carb, 20-30 grams a day. I wanna give up dairy because I love cheese way too much, it's the first thing I grab when I open the fridge, and the quickest snack we have in my home. If love some help and insight and wonder if this is a good choice/ challenge for me? I hate my stomach! ;(

  43. I need advice and I'm curious about how others got to their goal weight. I've had my lap band for a year and a half. I've lost 130 pounds after the band (211 total) and have 40-50 more pounds to go until my personal goal. I workout 4-6 times a week; spin class, weights/barbell strength class, cycling outside, TRX, light running, Water aerobics. My average calorie intake a day is 1300 and I generally don't eat back my calories after working out. I get 70-100g Protein per day and drink about 100oz of water a day. I have my moments of weakness but they are still generally within my daily calorie count; Peanut Butter is my weakness. About once every 10-14 days I'll go o…

I had quite the week last week, raging hormones and excessively long work hours. I found myself (head?) hungry all the time and also found myself able to eat more than my sleeve would normally allow. This week has been much, much better. I try to stay in the 700 calorie range every day, but just calculated my calorie average for the last 8 days, and it was 923. YIKES! I think it will be best to weigh myself next week instead of this one in order to keep my head in the game. (I am a once a week maximum weigher.) What are your experiences with stress and PMS? Best, Amy

Hi all... I'm 4th stage and over a month out from my sleeve surgery. I noticed a recipe on here for quiche which totally reminded me of a dinner quiche I used to make. But, it has spinach in it and my post op diet sheet says to stay away from spinach. Does anyone know why? It is cooked spinach or raw? If I chop it up real fine is that okay? I'm planning to make it for dinner and the docs office is obviously closed. Any insight greatly appreciated. ~Newcurves76
