  5. I wouldn't recommend anyone go against their doctor's recommendations, but I will tell you what works for me. My doc says no drinking 30 min before and after meals. I read somewhere on this site that they drink right up until they eat, but wait 30 min after eating, and that has worked for me. Water goes through the sleeve very quickly; as my doc says, the sleeve is more like a funnel than a storage pouch at this point. I drink up until a few minutes before I eat, and I wait at least 30 minutes after, which is easy because my sleeve is so full after 1/3 C food I don't WANT to put anything else in it for awhile. I stay full for about 4 hours after eating, and this is what my doc wants, so this works for me as it's always a struggle for me to get my water in. I, too, was told I can drink right up until I start eating. Then, I have to wait. All docs have their own methods.

  10. Hey guys. I was sleeve 4-21-14 by Dr. Duperier at Foundation Hospital. All is well except that I have been stalled since I started regular food. Bleh. (Dr. D is dr. Segers partner!)
  11. Just thought i would check in to see how everyone is doing. It's June and I'm STILL at 33 lbs gone. I know, I know. I shouldn't complain because that's better than being where I was but, sometimes, the scale is wicked!! I'm pretty sure that I'm not eating enough or getting all my proteins in but it's so hard! I can't drink the protein shakes. They make me sick right away. I can't eat chicken. It makes me sick right away. Sigh. I'm okay to eat red meat and I haven't had a problem with that it just gets old. Oh, well. I'm surprised that I am LOVING cottage cheese. I never had it prior to surgery and, now, I have it for breakfast almost daily. I hope everyone is doing great and loving their sleeves! Talk to you soon oh! If anyone is on Instagram, I'm angelique1446 Look me up- we have a great vsg family there.

  14. I'm starting my 4th week out and was given the ok to do eggs and soft, chewed meats. I had a couple bites of a scrambled egg and a couple bites of chorizo and I have felt awful all day. Not my stomach but like reflux or acid or something. I feel like there's a ball of air at the bottom of my throat and it's awful. I haven't had nausea or heartburn since my surgery and it feels so weird/different now. I took a Pepcid but the bubble remains. I never had reflux or heartburn before the surgery either. I would get it on occasion but those occasions were few and far between. Sigh. Guess I need to start taking the pills daily.

  26. Hey y'all! Had my sleeve on April 21st. I'm in San Antonio and had my surgery done with Dr. Duperier. Amazing amazing amazing surgeon with a great staff. Hope all of you are doing well. I'm down 22lbs. Yay sleeve!
  27. I think it depends on your tummy tolerance. I've noticed many people avoid the carbs because it takes up too much room in the new tummy. I've also seen people eating burgers and sandwiches and, yes, pasta. Of course, the servings are teeny
  28. Wow! Those look great! Exactly what I was looking for. Plus, your meals look totally yummy! Thanks for the info. Is yours called a Spiralizer?

  30. That's what I think it was. Yes. I didn't want to spend a ton of money especially if it didn't work. Lol Hmm I will have to check amazon Oooh! Yes!! Tell me. If that one works well, I may go that route instead.
  31. I haven't tried it, yet, but I've found a ton of recipes with smashed cauliflower. Haven't gotten to that stage, yet. Mmmm
  32. I agree but, when I tried a bite of mashed potato the other day and it expanded in my tummy, I figured maybe I need to check out other options. My love of pasta is great but my new tummy thinks I should wait a long while to try it.
  33. Thanks guys! I have seen the spaghetti squash and aim to try that, as well. I really liked the idea of the curly Zoodles, too! Or, maybe I just think it's cute... Lol Trading a food addiction for a healthy cooking appliances addiction maybe?
