  1. Started by thewellkeptwoman,

Has anyone else ever tried this? I think it's better tasting than anything else I've tried. I really like the fact that you can mix it with Water, milk, or juice and it doesn't get lumpy like Muscle Milk powder. I usually mix it with HEB Mootopia (it's a Texas thang, y'all) lactose-free, fat-free milk...it already has 12 g of Protein per serving and the Jay Robb has 25 g. I mix it with instant decaf coffee and it tastes sorta like a frappucino, still very yum! No sugars (except with what you mix it with), it has amino acids, and no artificial junk.

Am looking for a good unflavored protein supplement. I tried Bariatric Advantage and it still has a sicken sweet taste. I was wondering what you all thought of Unjury.

Just wondering because the dr said milk based was ok but then the hospital said no. Tried a Protein shot and hated it. I absolutely can not eat anything I hate. My stomach throws it up so it has to be bearable.

I'm not a sweets kind of guy to begin with. I got to this weight because I would rather have extra fries or more mexican food than a dessert. I am drinking 2 Protein drinks a day by Pure Protein and they're so sweet I can barely take them anymore. The chocolate one was tasty for a while but now I'm choking it down to get my protein. The vanilla ones are like drinking cupcake batter & I can barely stand it. The thought of having to drink it this afternoon makes me want to puke. Does anyone out there make savory Protein Drinks? Maybe a mildly sweet berry or something with Peanut Butter? Please chime in if you've had this same issue!

Cost has always been an issue for me and even though I like some of the other brands, this brand is only $15 at Walmart for a tub. Two scoops = 52 g protein so add skim milk to it and you have over 60 g of protein to one shake! It's not too bad either and has less than 4 g carbs and sugar.

Saw on the label of the vitacraves that 2 is a serving ... Since we're suppose to have 2 multi vitamins a day does that mean to take 4 of the gummies a day? My nutritionist has me terrified about vitamin deficiency soo how many are the rest of you taking?

  9. Started by Getting There,

Discovered a great tasting Calcium at the Vitamin Shoppe. It's Healthy Indulgence. 500 mg calcium citrate/piece with 250 IU Vitamin D3. 35 calories each. They taste like a piece of chocolate that you'd willing eat. 60% cacao. This is my "dessert" after lunch and dinner

I ran out of both about 5 days ago and am wondering what are the consequences of not taking. Just ordered some from Celebrate off Amazon, but they won't arrive until Tuesday. In general, I am feeling fine. However, my hair has started to feel brittle and am seeing a few hairs here and there. I am 3 months out so am not blaming it on the missing supplements. What are your thoughts?

I have multiple protein drinks varying in brands and grams of protein. Sometimes I switch up so I won't get tired of drinking the same thing over and over again. But I'm just wondering is that wrong? Shud I stick with just one brand of protein or does it matter as long as I get my protein in daily? Btw I'm 8weeks out.

I am about 3 weeks pre op now, and have been reading up on the pre and post diets as well as protein suggestions. My concern is regarding the clear liquids stages. Are their any protien powders that you mix with clear liquids that can be ingested during that phase? There must be something? Starting to order samples of different powders now, but just wondering how to handle the clear liquids phase? Also, a lot of emphasis seems to be put on the number of grams per serving of protien in the powders, but are the calories just as important? For example, Isogenix, and medifast, are both protien based, but I have not seen anything about these powders or drinks on here?

I am still struggling with finding a Protein powder/drink that I actually like! I like the Premier Protein (chocolate), but that seems to be about it. What is your favorite protein powder/drink? I like simple recipes; I am not big on blending drinks. I just want a good Protein powder, or one that is ready to drink! Thank you!

I woke up feeling the same way. Decided to have a super charged protein shake and sure enough, an hour later I was my old self again! I'm just putting this out there....heed the doctors orders to get enough protein. Wow I'm feeling awesome now!!! Hard lesson to learn.

Hello Everyone, I am researching Vitamin deficiencies post VSG. Does anyone know of any studies that have been published after 2009? In addition, does anyone know of any on-going studies that look at vitamin deficiencies post VSG over a 10 year period? Thank you, Holly

  29. I just learned something that may be helpful to others. Vitamins on food labels are listed as a % of Daily Value based on a 2,000 calorie/day diet. For calcium, the FDA's recommended Daily Value is 1,000 mg. To determine how many mg are in a serving, simply replace the % with a 0. So 25% of DV would be 25 mg. You can find the Recommended DV on the FDA's website if you want to convert other nutrients. I found that I'm consuming more calcium than I would have expected so I can cut back on calcium supplements

I did a search but I didn't see that anyone else has this problem. Every time I drink a shake, especially a chocolate one (syntax, unjury) I suddenly feel like I'm starving! The Chike doesn't seem to, but it seems like it's too high in calories. Anyone else had this problem and found a way to overcome it? Right now I'm just putting unflavored in my crystal light which doesn't seem to trigger me.

  31. Ok so I have tried powders even though famous nectar and other ready to drink protein shakes and I can not stand other the texture or taste of it. Today I had my husband pick up a couple of favors of the Isopure zero carb ready to drink drinks in the apple melon flavor and the icy orange. Now I have only tried the apple melon on but it's actually pretty good. It smells like apples and cantaloupe and taste like sour apple with a hint of cantaloupe. I hope I like the icy orange which I will try tomorrow.

My surgery is 4 weeks away and I am trying to find Protein that I like. Propel Zero Sport (1 liter bottle at Walmart) with 1 whey protein bullet (42 gram ones at Walmart) is so good! I used the grape protein in grape Propel and fruit punch bullet in the berry propel. I have not tried any Isopure or the other clear Proteins so I don't have anything to compare. Hope this helps!!

Hi Just had my sleeve surgery last Thursday and I am tired! I figure I am not getting enough protein. I keep trying protein powders (unjury and my husbands from Max Muscle) Pre-op I had no problem drinking protein. In fact I actually it. My problem now is since I can only drink 1-2 oz at a time it gets gross sitting around as I try to sip it over an hour. My iced blended ones melt and separate and taste like crap. Plus the bubbles. It tastes like baby formula. I NEED to get my protein. How? Any ideas?

Hey y'all! Hope everyone is well today, I have a slight dilemma, I NEED another protein powder, but one that is soy based because I'm about to throw in the towel with yet another protein shake, I like Muscle Milk and Nectar Roadside Lemonade. I tried Isopure but it felt like hair was on my tongue when I drank it so that was a no go. The other two, were good, except they cause horrible lactose intolerant symptoms for me and right now, 6 days Post op, gas is not an option for me, I never really complained if I had gas, but now it is not cool, It's so annoying and keeps me from sleeping at night until I pass it. I'm a big online shopper. The FedEx and UPS delivery people are my buds. Amazon is my second home. So, I need to find places to buy Protein powders and shakes online, preferably with good discounts, free shipping promos, etc. I have seen some Syntrax powders for sale on Amazon and with free shipping too. I know you can buy unjury directly from their website, but where else do you purchase your shakes/powder online? Any suggestions for other places to look?

I desperately need to increase my protein levels, but I have not yet found a shake I can actually drink they all make me gag and I can only get in one or two swallows. Everyone keeps talking about the unflavored unjury powder I can add to my food and get in more protein that way. I went to the unjury site and dang it is expensive. It would cost me 20$ (without shipping0 every week just to get in the extra 40g of protein a dayI am trying to increase my protein by. That is pretty steep. Does anyone know where I can buy it for cheaper or know of as good a product as the unflavored protein powder that I can buy? I need to do this soon cause I can only seem to get i…

  48. A recommended amount of daily intake for a 2000 calorie diet is 300 mg. Heart doctors actually recommend 200 mg. We are really at 600-800 cal diets so even lower amounts should be taken in. I found out mine had shot up lately with blood tests and come to find out it was my protein drink. It contained 50 mg per serving and I take 2 a day plus other meat and food items through the day. Switched from that brand to a 0 mg of cholesterol per serving and lab tests showed a significant drop. Paid to much attention to the carbs, protein, and cals on label but forgot this part.

So as a complete n00b I walked into my local GNC...first time since high school which was 20 years ago...and bought what I was told was a "very clean" Protein. I purchased 16 Isopure bottles with an assortment of flavors. ***These are the nastiest tasting drinks I have ever tasted.*** The aftertaste leaves you wishing death on the makers of Isopure. Sure, 40 grams of protein and zero carbs sound good….but it sure doesn’t taste good. Anyone know if you can take unopened product back to GNC?
