  7. I had surgery on August 23 2012. In the beginning I was hungry all the time and started taking Prilosec once a day, it definitely helped. I was feeling hungry right after I ate. Now 5 months later, I have to remind myself to eat. I started at 200lbs. I've lost 42 lbs so far. A little slower than normal but I'm not in a rush.
  8. I'm 5 months today post op, Yay!!!!! My scars took long to heal, and 2 of them. To make a long story short, I developed 2 small keloids, which is a raised scar..they have gotten smaller and are fading. I've been using MSM cream. I tried the Ambi going cream, but it made my scars very sensitive to touch and I had to stop using it. I've also tried silicone sheets, im just not consistent with it. I do think they work. Good luck!

  10. Getting sleeved at 155? Really? I can't wait to be 155.
  11. I wish I was that lucky. I'm a slow weight loser, 40lbs in 5 months. My hair is so thin now, I'm so scared. I take my vitamins, biotin and what not. I have very straight hair and for a bit was curling it up with a diffuser, then I noticed, all of the sudden how thin my hair was. I didn't see any bald spots, but I can see it growing again. I can't even believe I've lost this much hair. I just pray I don't lose anymore.
  12. The Wii fit has the game.
  13. Yes, they're nothing like a real step class, but you feel the muscles working.

  15. Ohhh, I get what you're saying. When you're under full anesthesia you get intubated (tube down your throat). Sometimes its easy to cause trauma in the mouth because a metal blade is inserted to pull up your chin to visualize the vocal cords. That's probably what happened.
  16. I have to be honest and tell you that I can't sip on homemade protein shakes. I use a very thin straw. I know were not supposed to, but I do. It does make me gassy but nothing painful, yet again, I am 6 weeks post op already.

  18. Not protein, but they have a but more vitamins than regular vitamins. I honestly feel great with them. I work 2 jobs, 2 kids and I'm a single mom and still have energy to workout when I get home after 12hrs. How do you make your protein shakes? I didn't like the taste of mine with milk. To me it tasted sweet. I started diluting my berry medly fruit mix and making into juice. I add half a banana, 1 scoop of protein mix, I open up and add a creatine powder pill (good for the muscles) and some goji berries and its delicious. It's actually a meal replacement coming up to about 250 calories. Gogi berries are healthy but just 1oz of them are 100 calories.
  19. My surgeon told me it would be difficult to consume much protein the first 2 weeks post op. I take instead of regular vitamins, prenatal vitamins 4 a day and I take my B12. Felt great after day 4, I'm 6 weeks post op now and I feel great. In the early stages I had sudden periods of weekness as well but they went away. I couldn't tolerate the taste if isopure, protein shots or whatever else I tried.
  20. What is EGD? I'm fairly new to this so Idk all the terms used.
  21. I had my surgery 8/23/12 and I'm also losing weight slowly. I have lost 23.5lbs. I noticed that increasing my calories was what helped me lose those last 5lbs. Idk if I'm supposed to consume only 800 calories a day but doing research, I've found that you need to consume calories to burn calories and 800 calories puts your body in starvation mode and you store fat. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I'm also burning about 900 calories a day and I eat every 3 hours.
  22. Yes, that's about it. Also you can have the broth of miso soup and wonton soup. Not too much variety with clear liquid diet. I had to do it for 2 weeks post op as well.
