Has anyone NOT experenced hair loss that is 6+ months out?

Recommended Posts

I have read all the posts in Hair loss, but want to hear from those that did NOT lose hair--do you think it was by chance and luck? Genes? Or did you do something?

I thought I was going to dodge that bullet, because at six months, I had not lost any hair. Then, BAM. It did not fall out in chunks as some report, just one hair at a time. I could feel a single hair hit my face in the shower, when I towel dried it, when I styled it, and sometimes just throughout the day. Over time, I'd say I've lost maybe a 1/4 to a 1/3, but fortunately I had crazy thick hair to start with.

Finally at 10 months the loss is slowed almost to a stop. Just waiting now for regrowth.

I'm always afraid to post on these threads and jinx myself. I'm 6 1/2 months out and have yet to experience much hair loss. A month or two ago I started freaking out because I noticed a huge handful come out in the shower. It must have just been the heat damage I inflict on my hair daily! :) I have noticed an increase in the amount I lose daily in the shower but not a dramatic increase. There's no noticeable balding or loss on my head. I pray it stays this way! And, no, I did not do anything special to prevent it. Honestly, I haven't been the best with my Protein either. I struggle to get 60g a day.

*fingers crossed*

Wonder slow loss = little to no Hair loss? Fast loss = hair loss? I have never looked into this but do wonder. Mine is strong and not lost any but I am very slow at the weight loss.

I am 10 months out and notice my hair thinned out a bit. I had very thick hair so not noticeable to others.

Well, sad to say that I'm one of the unlucky ones. I had my surgery on 12/21 and I almost immediately started shedding hair! I leave hair in the comb, in the shower, and on the pillow! I don't know what to do to make it stop shedding. But the good thing is that I've lost 24lbs!!!

I wish I was that lucky. I'm a slow weight loser, 40lbs in 5 months. My hair is so thin now, I'm so scared. I take my Vitamins, Biotin and what not. I have very straight hair and for a bit was curling it up with a diffuser, then I noticed, all of the sudden how thin my hair was. I didn't see any bald spots, but I can see it growing again. I can't even believe I've lost this much hair. I just pray I don't lose anymore.

I am six weeks postop tomorrow. Lost 59 lbs total (29 since surgery) 41 lbs to go. My doc insists I slow down to loosing a few lbs per month. He says loosing too fast will result in lots of loose skin and huge Hair loss. He tells me we will loose weight for 18 months after surgery and we should use all 18 months to get the best results. Only problem is when u can only get in 1000 cal per day, My math says I will lose 2 lbs per week! That means I will be close to goal weight a year too soon. Thinking I will be loosing hair : (

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
