  1. A year ago I went to Vegas and didn't have such a great experience. I hurt walking, couldn't take the heat, etc. Then I go back exactly one year later, which was 7 months post op, and had the time of my life!!!! I never had to open a door, I was complimented all the time, had an amazing time in the night clubs where I was invited with no cover and free drinks. That would have NEVER happened a year ago. I can't wait to go back!!!! Very grateful for my gastric sleeve and the opportunity to live life to its fullest!!!!

    PCOS

Mine did. I was approved for a hysterectomy but no need now! Things are going alot better now
  7. Talk to doctors right before you can in OR and tell them any concerns about pain or nausea. Makes a big differnce in the outcome. My gastric sleeve as the easiest of all my surgeries. Just pain in my shoulder from the gas and weakness from meds and not eating. But that was all mild. Sooo glad I did this!
  8. I feel full. So full I have to sometimes lay down. It's a little different but u suddenly know u don't want one more bite. If you eat more than your stomach can hold it stacks up in your esophagus, not a pod feeling
  9. I've never enjoyed holiday gatherings where people get together and over eat. Grosses me out. But now that I have my sleeve I find it even more repulsive. And the gym will be closed. I know the reason for the season, and I'm truly grateful. Time to worship my maker not the baker! Here's to another healthy holiday!!!
  10. I'm 3 months post op. Started loosing on preop diet I began in Sept. for a total loss of 72 lbs. (42 of it was post op )
  11. Just got back from Disney World where at 3 months post op I fit on ALL the rides comfortably and discovered Tower of Terror doesn't feel the same. No butterflies in my stomach since I don't have much of a stomach. Instead all I could feel on the drops was the sensation I was flying!! Really fun!!! And I didn't mind posing for family photos This summer before surgery, I was miserable traveling. Life is good. 35 lbs to go...
  12. Thanks! 70 total . 30 was preop. Looking forward to the next 35 to be gone!
  13. Disney food was too rich for me. So I took food and kept at the hotel. Once a day we drove to panda express or chickfila. At panda the single serving of an entree is prefect size. At chickfila the 4 piece grilled nuggets and fruit is good. Good luck with surgery!

    hair loss

I started loosing lots of hair a few weeks ago. I was sleeved in early December. I read a great article about hair loss with with loss is you body's reaction to the stress and vitamins/ diet won't prevent it. Reminds me of women who put lotion on to prevent stretch marks. Can't prevent those either, it's either in your genetics or it's not
  15. I was sleeved 12/10/12. The past couple of days food has made me sick one "meal" each day. Lost 20 lbs since surgery and now slowly loosing at a rate of 1/4 lb per day. Can't wait to see more progress. Nervous about going back to teaching job on Wednesday. How is everyone else?
  16. At two months out I am eating totally normal food and loving the new me. I can remember crying a lot early on wondering not only why did I do this to myself, but why did others "let me" do it. I was mad at ALL my doctors for encouraging me. I'm sure it was a mixture of hunger, low blood sugar mixed with a little shock that caused all those horrible feelings. Now I feel 20 years younger, love eating normal foods (then my stomach tells me enough) and the weight is slowly sliding off. 62 less pounds of misery and feeling great. You will too!!! Just hang in there
  17. Went to a real mall today and shopped at the stores I've been wanting to shop in for sooo long. Totally amazing. Only bought workout tshirts, but they are cute!! And XL not 3xl. God bless the inventor of the sleeve! May not be loosing fast but at least I'm loosing!!!!
  18. Live in a small town with blah stores!! So I love going to big city malls like Austin. Almost over whelming because there are so many regular size stores to choose from!!!

    All of my December sleevers...

Sleeved 12/10. Lost 30 lbs preop & now 30 lbs post op. It's been really slow the last few weeks. My doctor only wants me to loose 2 lbs per month. I say 5 so I can look good this summer! We' ll see. 40 lbs to go
  20. Dec. 10th Breakfast one scrambled egg, few cheese cubes, pears Lunch; string cheese wrapped with thin slice of turkey, half a fruit cup Last night: chic fila kids grilled nuggets and fruit cup Snacks: doctor wants me to drink 3 12oz Protein shakes to slow weight loss. Usually can't finish due to stomach pains. Sometimes sub low cal yogurt with pb 2 mixed in once a day.
