I'm a 41-year-old union electrician and I've been dealing with Type 2 diabetes for about 12 years now, diagnosed when I was 29. Took me a few years to really get serious about it, and my A1C even crept up to over 10% at one point. Now I'm managing it with Metformin and daily Lantus shots, and my A1C is usually around 7.3%. Just checking in to see if anyone has had the panniculectomy procedure? How bad was the pain after surgery? Did you see a noticeable difference? Was it worth it? Would you do it again? Hi all, wondering if anyone else gets very drowsy after eating. I'm 14 years out from Roux-en-y surgery and approx. 2 years ago started feeling very drowsy after eating. I eat pretty healthy, very little processed carbs. Almost every time I eat I get very drowsy afterward often needing to sleep for approx. 1 hour, like I took a sedative. Does not matter what I eat or how fast or slow I do. I've read that due to food entering the small intestine directly increases heart rate and this demand can cause drowsiness. What I find strange about that is it only started 12 years after surgery, I'd get the increase in heart rate, but not get drowsy. Maybe it's my age? I'm 64 now. Su…

I was curious what kind of enlargements men on here have seen with weight loss. I am not asking anyone here to reveal penis sizes... I'm just curious as to what kind of gains people have seen with 50lb, 100lb, etc weight loss in terms of inches? Or inch? I have a training for work that I have to host exactly 2 months after surgery. I am assuming I won’t be on solid foods by then yet but maybe I’m wrong. Hello. I’m brand new on my weight loss journey. I’m almost 2 weeks post op. My goals after surgery are to lose weight and to be in a healthy BMI. I am not going for any particular weight number goals or anything like that, I just want to be able and active for my kiddos. I’m having a ton of fear about my forever diet. Yes, I said it. I'm 2.5 months out from bypass surgery, I'm down 61.6 lbs. and I get so horny, my sex drive is on steroids at 51 years old, I feel like I did in my 20's. I've already worn my wife out and she is scared to touch me. I'm not trying to brag, as a big guy I've always been large down below and my wife can't seem to handle me now since my weight loss. Erection problems used to be my issue. I now get hard if the wind blows and for no reason. I can't even walk around in the stores because my erection shows through what ever I'm wearing. Just curious as to how the rest of you guys handled the conversations about your WLS with co-workers and friends after returning to work. I’m inclined not to say much to anyone beforehand (except my wife and my best friend) but eventually I know my weight loss will become the elephant in the room at the water cooler. I also work in public safety and the perception I get is that not many of my colleagues will understand or approve of my decision. Any tips?

Hi guys! I'm pre op and currently on trt prescribed by endocrinologist with legal stuff bought from pharmacy. Anybody has experience with it and bariatric surgery. I hope testosterone will help me prevent muscle mass loss, before I was fat I've spend decent amount of time in the gym a any my lean mass is slightly above average. Trt was a lifetime decision so I intend to keep it that way. I will obviously consult it with endo and surgeon, but just curious if you have any experience. Have a great day!

Starting as soon as I woke up from anesthesia, I started getting intensely emotional. Not in a "bad" way, like depression or anything, but EVERYTHING was making me cry..... the fact that I couldn't fart, the fact that I FINALLY farted, looking at my partner, looking outside at the sun and trees and birds, etc. Did anyone else go through this? My partner said it was like I was pregnant. I told him that if I was, he was definitely the father!

Anybody here wear compression shirts? I’m looking into them for after I’m healed up and loosing weight. I’m on my pre-op diet and am already loosing my pants and my stomach is much softer/flabbier then at the beginning. So I know I am going to need something to keep this in check. What brands do you guys wear or what kind? I’ve seen some with additional support panels and then just the typical underarmor style. What would personally suggest from your experience?

I believe I will have an apron or some loose skin below my belly button. I am not worried about arms because I lift at the gym. My legs may hve some but I think I cn get those tone up to some degree for a 63 year old. Anyone with any similar experiences? Would love to hear from you.

Friends, I had my surgery back in Nov of 2013. It was a huge decision for me at the time and I anguished over it. All the information on this website was super helpful, both before and after the surgery. I have a 2010 VFR1200 sport touring bike. Don't let that touring part fool you, a VFR is not an "old man's" bike: Anyway... This bike has 170 hp and 100 ft/lbs of torque. I quit Testosterone Replacement Therapy, after 2 years on it. I was not on steroids !!!! Its testosterone replacement therapy, it makes a man at 40 years old, feel great, high sex drive, etc.. It is not pills and 5 different steroids going to you stomach. Its one low dosage intermuscular injection per week. I do not drink alcohol, or smoke nicotine. Have any men out there had plastic surgery and care to comment about it? I'm pretty sure I've settled in at my long-term weight and am now wondering whether I want plastic surgery. Hey all, It's my first time posting here! I really love how everyone here is so supportive of one another! I am having my surgery done on October 6th. Luckily for me the nerves haven't kicked in yet but I do think about my post-op results a lot. so I'm 52 in a couple of weeks. I have decided on a sleeve and will meet with a nutritionists and behavioral person next week. I'm 5' 7" and weigh in at 280. Like many, I can lose weight, but it always comes back. Since quitting smoking, three years ago, it has become difficult, and I now have an additional 30 lbs that I didn't have when I smoked. Greetings, I had the gastric sleeve on June 17th, and overall its going pretty well. I do have something that is becoming a bit of a problem. Since I can anonymity on here, I thought I'd ask. How is the sex drive guys? Mine is 1000 x increased. I begin every morning with some with my wife, I masturbate at least 2 x during the day, sometimes 3 (thank goodness I work from home), and at night we have sex. So on average that is 4x a day. Here's the deal. I'm completely capable of getting to round one, however long it takes. Round 2 is usually a challenge. I did some digging around on the internet and discovered they make both Viagra and Cialis in a liquid (gel) form. Question for the guys: #1 - Is it OK to take liquid Viaga or Cialis after surgery without it being harmful?
