Nervous About Bariatric Surgery

My doctor has told me I'm not a candidate for the sleeve procedure due to my acid reflux so he's recommending gastric bypass.

I'm nervous because this is a major surgery. I'm also worried because I get choked very easily and I'm concerned about not having liquids with my meals. I also drink a lot of water when taking my meds so I don't choke on them. They sometimes get caught in my throat. I'm also concerned about not having coffee. I not only love coffee as a drink and a pick me up but it helps with my acute asthma in the mornings. It opens my airways. I am currently on zepbound 10mg and it has helped a lot with portion control. But, I know it's a temporary fix. I also have major back issues (degenerative disc disease) along with inflammatory arthritis, fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis. I'm concerned about the exercise afterwards. I use to walk 15-20 miles a week before the arthritis hit. Any advice and reassurance would be much appreciated.
