  1. A chiropractor I visited a few years ago recommended a powder supplement, Calm. If I remember correctly, he mentioned calcium tends to tighten muscles and magnesium will undo the effects. In addition to relaxing the muscles, it also can be used for insomnia and as a laxative.

Funny thing is, homemade eggs causes issues most days for me while eggs at restaurants do not. I'm 19 months post op.
  3. I know the feeling you speak of. I started spin classes less than three months after my surgery and it was too much too soon.
  4. I started out size 14/16 in March 2012. At my lowest, I dropped down to a size 4. I am now in a size 6. My goal was a size 8.

Sleeved March 7, 2012. Starting weight 190. Current weight 145.5. Goal weight 140.
  7. I guess my vitamin panel only included two vitamins. Oh well. That's another thing with my surgeon, he wanted to wait until a year out to do bloodwork which I found to be really odd. My family physician also completed a lipid panel since I have constant issues with cholesterol since junior high.
  8. What in particular are tested by your surgeon during bloodwork? I thought all vitamin levels as well as protein was measured. I had my regular physician run test and they only tested my vitamin D & B12 levels which were normal. I am coming up on my year anniversary and decided not to go back to my surgeon, Dr Nicholson, for my year follow-up which would have included bloodwork. While Dr Nicholson is a phenomenal doctor, I feel my follow-ups are a waste of time for the $25 I have to pay. Plus my experience with the office staff pre-op was not the best.
  9. I'm in Sachse & was sleeved March 7th. I was sleeved by Dr Nicholson. I love the results. Best of luck to everyone!!
  10. Congrats on the loss so far. When was your surgery? My year anniversary will be March 7th. It is unbelievable how fast time has gone by!
  11. I am 10 months out and notice my hair thinned out a bit. I had very thick hair so not noticeable to others.
  12. Call your doctor or PA. I was given the okay to take ambien in hospital recovery.
  13. I thought the hunger hormone was gone as well. I guess it depends as my mother-in-law had surgery three weeks after me and has no hunger at all. The acid reducers do not help whatsoever with hunger unfortunately.
  14. I was one of the unlucky few that experienced hunger from early on. Reading the boards, I gathered it was just acid. After taking 3 different types of acid medications, I ruled out acid. My appetite is still smaller so I'm content with the hunger I guess.
  15. I cannot remember the beginning of the soft food phase but 9+ months out, eggs tend to give me problems. I continue to eat one egg three times a week for protein but just know to take an acid reducer and pray for a good day. Even after that combo, I still have slight issues. Best of luck!!! :-)
  16. I started at 190lbs before my 3/7 surgery. I believe I averaged roughly 2lbs a week. I'm sure my weightloss would've been quicker/better had I stuck with a stricter diet. I am happy with the slow loss as I am now 9 months post op and down to 138lbs.
  17. In my opinion, recovery from c-section was worst than recovery from sleeve surgery.
  18. I definitely had buyers remorse for at least the first 2 weeks after surgery. Now, 7mos post op, I feel it was the best decision I've ever made.
  19. I have gotten out of the habit of tracking calories but I was averaging 1200 calories previously and still losing. At my six month follow-up appointment, the PA suggested I stay closer to 1000 calories since I still had 5lbs to go before reaching my goal of 140. I didn't feel comfortable with that suggestion knowing I get faintish during spin class when my calories are that low. I guess you have to find what works for you.

Why does a guy appear in my reply as an attached thumbnail? No clue of who this person is.

My household loves taco soup. It was one of the best recipes I received while attending weight watchers meetings years ago. Ground turkey is a great substitute.
