In High School I was always the "athletic build" and according to media and peer pressure that meant I was "fat".
Well, in 1986 I began having a family. After my first pregnancy I ended up having a gall bladder and apendix surgery 6 months after giving birth. Needless to say I could never loose weight after that. Over the years my weight kept creeping up. I lingered at 225 for at least 8-10 years until I finally creeped up to 270. How did that happen? I know exactly how it happened. Laziness, neglect for my own health and bad food choices.
In June of 2012 I was finally diagnosed with stage 2 diabetes! Crap! My kids are now reaching marrying age, I want to be healthy for my grandkids. I want to ride roller coasters with them. Take them horse back riding. Go on hikes. ETC!!!!!!
I had signed up for the process of having surgery two other times and for one reason or another I ended up dropping it. But this time I knew I had to do it. I needed another tool in my tool box for motivation and help to get the job of loosing weight done!
I am so glad I made this choice. I am on a journey to a new and healthy ME so I can have the energy to take care of the ones I love and enjoy life with the ones I love!!!
