Had gastric sleeve surgery feb 22, 2012 and went from 288 to 200. Unfortunately i lost muscle in my upper body and arms... I think i looked better when i was heavier! I know that i am supposed to be getting about 60 grams of protein a day but am having trouble eating. I found isopure liquid protein at gnc. Each 20 ounce botthe is 50 grams. How many grams of protein a day will i need to rebuild muscle? I know i have to exercise too but exercise without protein will get no results. Tsarc@aol.com

For anyone interested, I was on Ebay and noticed that someone is selling the Unjury Chicken Soup container. It is only buy it now for $10 and shipping is $8. It is a really good price because I paid $22.95 on the website plus tax and shipping. If I liked it, I would ****** it up. It is too salty for me after surgery.

I started myself on optimum's whey Protein mix's. Its main ing. is whey protein isolate, with whey protein concentrate. I love the chocolate, strawberry and the vanilla. I buy the 5 pounders. They are 53.00 a pop. I cant handle the kind that are grainy. If anyone has a good flavored one that is cheaper, and not grainy let me know!!! also if any of you are pro's with label reading and body needs can you verify that this is a good option? 5 Lbs. Frozen Protein yogurt bites 4 oz of plain Greek yogurt or krogers carb counter yogurt Scoop of your favorite Protein powder Take a fork and mix the protein powder into the yogurt really good. Mix to the point it's a smooth consistancy. Take wax paper and line a cookie sheet. Spoon out drops of yogurt to form bite size drops. Put in freezer over night. In the morning you'll have protein yogurt bites. I use strawberry flavored protein powder and it's pretty good.

I'm sure theres other threads for it, but I figured I might as well put my 2 cents in I was getting so tired of having just plain chocolate Protein shakes hour after hour. I'm sure a lot of you feel the same way, and have tricks and tips to making them more enjoyable! What I did was take a scoop of powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chocolate, 5 oz of skim milk, and about 1-2 tsp of sugar free caramel macchiato coffee mate. And let me tell you it was a delicious blend of chocolate and caramel! So please share your experiences and mixtures! I would appreciate it!

I am only three weeks post-op and I am figuring out that I can not tolerate any whey Protein, including isolate and concentrate. I was lactose intolerant before the surgery so I knew to look for lactose free products. Most protein products that are lactose free, but made from whey are made with whey protein isolate. I have been unable to move forward to mushies/pureed foods. My doctor put me on Carafate (used to coat the stomach, mainly with ulcer patients) to help with all the acid I was feeling. Please respond and let me know what your favorite brand of pea protein or soy protein is. Thanks!

Hello Guys, Has anyone tried the Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60 Protein from GNC? I am not a big fan of Proteins but I need to get at least 60 gr. So the guy from GNC told me about this protein that has 60 grams in only 3 scoops and its only 90 cals per scoop. Has anyone tried this Protein before? Heard anything good or bad about it? Love to hear from you guys.. Also if guys tried other proteins from GNC that would be great.

...or does anyone else agree the stuff is hideous?!?!?! I'm sorry, but I tried the chicken Soup, chocolate and unflavored and I cannot stomach any of them. I couldn't get past a few sips! Everything's so milky tasting. Why on earth would I want a milky tasting soup?? I bought the stuff because everyone seemed to be raving about it. But I guess I'm the odd woman out cuz to me it's gross. I feel like I wasted money.

Ok, so I have been to their site and average price is $21 to $23 a container. And Amazon is about a dollar higher at $22 to $23. Has anyone found better deal for Unjury? Also, the containers are only 1lb so that makes this protein option one of the highest costs out there. Yes, it is high in protein and the other nutrition is good but does anyone else think this is a bit high for our needs. I am finding other supplements that fit the same criteria but more affordable. More than welcome opions or anyone that has found better deals.

Before I had surgery, I used to have scaly, dry, cracked elbows. Sometimes they bled slightly after I loofa-ed them in the shower. No matter how much cream I rubbed into them they remained the same. I noticed the other day that, to my surprise, my elbows are soft and smooth! I have done nothing to them--I haven't even thought about them for months. I also noticed that I used to have those little red pimple-like bumps on my upper arms and thighs and they are gone as well. I think that taking a complete multi-Vitamin every day may have something to do with it. When I was fat, I used to tell myself that I needed to eat lots of food so that I had a "balanced diet…

Hi everyone, My NUT told me that I need to choose Protein powder that is whey based. That limits my options for Protein shakes tremendously. Plus, I am a fan of Herbalife protein shakes, which is soy based protein. I'm just wondering if any of you get your protein in through soy based products? I don't break the rules, but this seems like such a minor detail to me. If I'm getting my protein in...what does it matter if it's whey or soy? Thanks!!!

OMG, it was awful! Will I ever get used to these things. I've yet to commit to surgery and I'm trying out any number of things right now. I have to admit that the shake filled me up and left me more satisfied than most meals I've ever eaten but the scent and texture did not go well. BTW, it was a Bariatric Advantage Iced Latte flavor meal replacement.

Hi everyone I was just wondering if anyone as ever heard of or used Protein 100? I was in a vitamin supply store earlier today and the worker was telling me about it. There are 15g protein in 1 oz, this just sounds to good to be true. I'm emailed my contact at my surgeons office but wanted to throw it out here as well. I searched and did not find anything on it.

I just wanted to share a new Protein shake I found. I have celiac disease, so I needed to find one that was gluten free. I really don't like the chemical taste of most of the shakes, and sometimes they are way too sweet for me. The problem with the more natural and better tasting shakes was that they were either low in protein or high in carbs. I am pre-surgery, but I am starting to introduce the foods (or liquids) that I will be eating so that it will be less of a shock when I have my sleeve. When I was in Whole Foods yesterday, I thought I would swing by the protein powders to see if there was anything new. To my surprise, I found Vega Sport! Tastes pretty good- …

I apologize if this is a repeat question - I did a search and didn't find anything on this, so I thought I'd ask! Has anyone tried the unjury unflavored Protein? I'm thinking about getting that to start with along with the vanilla so that I can add my own flavors to it, then get other flavors later, but I wanted to know how it is as far a texture and blendability (if that is even a word, LOL). Thanks all in advance!

I tried it for the first time today and absolutly LOVED it, but then started to review the ingrediants and saw that it has Caffeen in it and didnt see any specific mention of Protein. Has anyone else noticed this and what can you share with me? Is this one a good one to drink???

I am 4 days post op. feeling good. Some pains. And stiffness but other than that I'm ok. I am on clear liquids until my 2 week check up. This morning I was hungrier than these usual 4 days and make my protein shake with silk soy milk instead of water. I wasn't in pain but I was full drinking 8 oz instead of the 16 I made. That was at 9:30 am. I sipped on water and power ads zero until 4:38. I don't want to call my doc because he went off on me for using a straw!!!! This is the best secret no one buys. I hate protein powder, but GNC has a pre-made shake called Lean Shake. It sits in the front of the store, because it sells so good. It has 25g of protein, lactose free and is YUMMY! By the way, it is pre-made. I knock one down driving to work every morning after walking two miles. I will have another for a mid-morning snack. Check out my blog, if you want to know what they look like. I drank these pre and post op. Awesome!

I received a few samplers of Protein powders today and I got this one from unjury that supposedly tastes like chicken Soup. I thought this might be good to try for a nice replacement of broth, do like a combo of protein broth flavor thing. So I'm looking at the nutrition facts and for this packet that is 1 serving size it has 780mg of sodium, 30%. Isn't that a lot of sodium?? Will that be bad to have so much salt like that particularly post-op when I'm drinking this the 3-4 weeks or no? So confused here. Also, what exactly is a post-op liquid diet like. How many protein packets do you typically use in 1 day, is it based upon how much protein you need to add up to? I…
