I need to be able to add Protein powder to Soup or coffee or what-not... it's the only way I'm going to get protein in. What are your recent finds for a truly unflavored Protein Powder that dissolves well and doesn't change the taste of what you're eating? powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury, to me, is NOT unflavored. I can taste that stuff! Plus it clumps. Not a fan! My friend drinks something by SEI and likes it. I don't want an enormous tub of it though.

Ok, so I decided to start testing out RTD protein shakes.. And yes, I cheated by buying one with more sugar than I thought I should have but it was still HORRIBLE! It has the consistency of pepto bismol and milk of magnesia.. OMG, I just dont know.. I will probably have to add something in them to thin it out. BTW, it was Bolthouse Farms - Mango Protein Plus..

I have been researching hair loss causes and found a correlation between inadequate protein absorption and inadequate stomach acid needed to breakdown protein. Found several articles. Seems reasonable that this would be an issue with sleevers and our hair loss problem. There are supplements to correct this but my question is that I also have mild Barretts Esophagaus and take a PPI. So does that increase my inability to absorb protein? Would the HCL Pepsin supplement be contra-indicated? I can't find any health professionals with knowledge on this. Any help?

I found this website that has a protein shake mix that also has all the vitamins and supplements post op clients are supposed to have. The brand is Celebrate END. I sent the link to my NUT, but she hasn't responded yet. Does have any experience taking this?

I have nectar Fuzzy Naval and have heard nothing about wonderful things about it but I tried it and it was gross! Any suggestions? I put 4 oz of Water into a shaker bottle, put in half a scoop of the Protein Powder, shook it up a few times and took a sip. To start with, the powder wasn't dissolved all the way and there were chunks, it was GROSS. Cloudy and not like fruit juice at all, I tasted the whey and I could only stomach one sip. Are there any tricks? Maybe mixing it with milk or blending it in a blender with ice? Help! I want to like it so much but as of now I can't handle it.

I want a Protein powder that is yummy mixed with Water. I was hoping for something fruity versus sweet and tried nectar Fuzzy Naval but it was disgusting. I could barely get down one sip. I'm sending that back and am now looking for a replacement. I'd love to hear your suggestions and I'll try yet again to find a fruity shake that I can mix with water. Thanks!

HI, I was sleeved on Dec 6. My doctor said I could start taking my meds and I also asked about fish oil which I was taking before. He said yes. I started taking them, got them down fine. I am only on stage 2, mushie food. So here is my question, does anyone have any issues with fish oil and digestion, diarrhea, etc? I haven't yet but I only took them last night.

So I know we're supposed to be drinking whey Protein isolate shakes, but does anyone know why this particular protein? I was talking to a friend and she said that Whey Protein is very hard for the body to break down. She was suggesting a some Protein shake that tastes delicious and she sent me a photo of the ingredients. The first ingredient was Milk Protein Concentrate. A few ingredients after, Whey Protein isolate came up, but I guess I wanted to know if any of you have tried this kind of protein instead of whey? Why do we have to use whey and not some other forms of protein? I might ask my dietician when I see her on Friday, because if my friend brings over samp…

I'm kind of stressing out about the whole phosphorus deficiency issue. They have drummed it into me how easy it is to become deficient so I've been looking into ways to get what I need. Unfortunately the vitamins that contain a good amount of phosphorus are calcium chewies which would be great but it comes as tricalcium phosphate which the calcium is poorly absorbed so I would have to take them just for the phosphorus and take additional calcium citrate. Is there any other supplement which contains over 200mg phosphate without adding in vitamins that I don't need?

Buy vanilla protein shake powder and buy plenty of varieties of sugar free jello and sugar free pudding. It takes about a teaspoon of powder to flavor ur shake. Instant coffee and butterscotch make a cool coffee for am. Shake! A quick way to break up high protein monotenous shakes.

Sorry for posting about liquid Vitamins, I've read the other posts, but haven't found my answer. Which liquid vitamins do people recommend? I'm so worried about the taste, I tend to get very nauseous so any recommendations regarding taste would be helpful. I found the Wellese brand and am debating going with them. I haven't taken my vitamins in 4 weeks because the chewables make me so sick so I really need to step it up and start taking some. Thanks!

Hello! I am new to the community (first post) but I am very excited that there is a community of people here that all have had the surgery or are going to have the surgery and we can all talk and give advice. I have always hated going out for support groups so I am glad that there is an online community I can now share my thoughts and questions said. That being said, I have been having A LOT of problems following my surgery, and I had some questions on my supplements and medications that I need to be taking. I am 4 month out of my surgery and I still am getting these following symptoms: Extreme lightheaddedness/Vomiting when eating to much/many stomach and chest pains …

I'm only a few days post-op and still on Clear liquids, but I'm already daydreaming about moving up to shakes and purees! I need a change of pace soon! Hopefully I'm having surgery on 12/31 (pending insurance ok) - I just bought some Optimum Nutrition powder for Protein shakes (have to do a liquid diet 2 weeks prior to surgery). Tried one this morning and they're not exactly good... Are we able to add Splenda to them? Has anyone tried this? Rules against it? Thanks!

I've been trying some Protein shakes as Meal Replacements. My surgery isn't until Aug 11, but I'm trying to find some stuff that tastes good before that. Anyway, when I make these in the blender, they foam up a LOT! (like wiht only 4 oz of liquid I get 16 oz of finished shake.) I can't see where I could possibly drink it post op in the full liquid phase. I think it would upset my sensitive tummy to have that many bubbles in there. Is this normal? I'm thinking about getting a bullet, and wondering if it's less of a problem with that blender than with my classic kitchen blender. Oh, and the brand I'm using is Designer whey, French vanilla flavor. Any feedback …

Ok, so my boyfriend is one of those super tech savvy Mr. Fixit type of people and I had a problem that I went to him with. I wanted to mix powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury flavorless powder into my Jello without there being a weird cloud of powder because the texture makes me sick. So, this is the plan he has come up with: Buy a large remote control car, make the jello in a soda bottle, put the remote control car upside down in the fridge, turn it on, and put the soda bottle horizonatally over the wheels so that it will constantly be moving while hardening and the powder won't se…

I'm in the purée/soft foods phase and this is the only protein I get which I know is barely anything. Anyone else having this problem?

I just wanted people to know about Body Fortress Whey Isolate powder vanilla creme... It's at wal mart and is very good. Taste just like a vanilla milk shake. Make sure you buy the canister that says whey isolate vanilla creme... They have whey protein that is not the kind we can absorb so look for the whey isolate on the container.

I had my surgery on Oct. 15th & I was beginning to think I would just starve until I could finally eat real food. The Protein shake requirement was killing me because everything tasted terrible. Today I went to the health food store & asked what they recommended: About Time Protein shakes. They were $3 each, so I thought I'd try a couple. The first one I tried was Birthday Cake flavor. It tasted just like the birthday cake milkshakes I got at the convenience shop. I'm so glad I found this brand...now I can get in my protein without too much hassle. They have other flavors, too, which I haven't tried yet, but I will. I also mixed it with milk (lactaid) inst…
