Hi all, I bought a box full of BA vitamins and I personally cannot tolerate them. Problem is I spend $130 on them. I only used about a week, probably less of some. There is a multi vitamin, a b12, an iron and a calcium. I'm selling them at 25% off since there is about a week missing. $97.50 and you can take the whole box

Each cup has 40 calories, 2g fat, 95mg sodium, 1g carbs, 0g Fiber, 0g sugars, and 5g Protein (PointsPlus® value 1*). Find it in shelf-stable quarts and refrigerated half gallons at most natural-food stores and some major supermarkets.

Any suggestions for protein shake with veg or tomato base or stock. I am only on the pre op diet and my mouth is "crawling" from all the sweet. Thanks!

  7. For the past few weeks I had been substituting meals with protein shakes. I thought this was something that needed to be implemented before surgery so that it would make it easier getting in enough protein after surgery. However, my surgeon told me that protein shakes should only be used after surgery because adding protein pre-op could cause weight gain. However, I have lost 16 lbs while supplementing protein. Did anyone drink protein shakes to help with their pre-op weight loss, or should I avoid these for now?

  8. I am currently taking Opurity multivitamin for sleeves and bypass (bought online) but they are HUGE and taste gnarly... but, the dosage is only once per day... I was thinking of switching to Flintstones chewables, but they are 2x a day... I am wondering why gummie vitamins are not allowed... Gelatin must digest ok, because I am allowed jello... Anyone have any insight?

I'm just wondering if the vitamins you buy at Walmart are OK or do we need some kind of special ones? I take a sublingual b-12, calcium chews, iron you just swallow, and are flintstone completes ok? How many of those, just one like the bottle says? Thanks

  10. Getting ready for my sleeve on March 4th. I would assume this question is on here somewhere, but I can not find it, so I will ask again. What do you think is the best protein supplement out there, considering pdcaas score, taste, and value? I need to stock up.

I bought some 8 oz Isopure, alpine punch, with 15 grams of protein. I can drink them ok.. I don't really like them but I can get them down... but after every drink or two there is this odd filmy stuff in my mouth. It is nasty. I wouldn't mind drinking them other than this nasty film. Anyone else have this problem with Isopure?

  15. Ive been trying to get myself together for my surgery on 2/28, buying broth and protein powder out of this world. I spent about a week doing all kinds of research on different vitamins and supplements, and which would be cost effecient. I finally talked to my NUT and asked her about a few name brands, she tells me as if I take Bariatric Fusion (sold in their office), I wont need to take additional vitamins and supplements. The multivitamin cost $24.99 for 120 chewable tabs. My confusion is, why arent more people using bariatric multivitamins for all the supplemental needs?

So, I'm pre op but have been trying things out. Ive been using isopure zero carb vanilla powder. It gives me some pretty significant intestinal distress. (Sorry TMI). Is this a problem for anyone else? Is there protein that will sit better? I was hoping for a vanilla so I could flavor it with SF Torani. Thanks!

My son bought me home two samples of MyoFusion Probiotic Series Protein Drink the other day and I love it. There are 7 flavors but I have only tried the Banana Perfection and Cinnamon Roll. Only 150 calories per serve but 24 grams of protein. I also like the idea of there being a Probiotic in there as I sometimes my stomach doesn't feel quite right and I'm hoping the Probiotic might help. Fingers crossed it might even help the constipation. It's also gluten free and has very little lactose. A good find. It can be ordered online.

Hi All: I am currently 6 months post op and have been just so tired. I have to peel myself out of bed in the morning and then when I am at work I just want to close my office door and take a nap. Has anyone else experience this? I am fearful of a Vitamin deficiency... If you went through this fatigue please tell me if you had a vitamin deficiency and what your doctor or NUT did to help you out. Did it get better? I will admit I don't always remember to take my Vitamins but I do take them more than not. I just had 9 vials of blood taken to test everything so I will see my results next week. Just curious what others have gone through.

Find a smoothie king nearest you and purchase the Gladiator protein powder it has 45 gms protein two scoops only 190 calories. You can make a seriously fruity smoothie with 70 grams if you use 3 scoops and just berries and pineapple total calories 340. All protein in for the day and your stuffed in one meal replacement. I usually sip on one all day and a little exercise drink my water and I'm good.

  29. I made one this morning with milk, ice, vanilla Protein powder, and Peanut Butter, and it's the very first one that I've enjoyed at all! It sounds so, so simple, but I had been avoiding the vanilla because I thought the chocolate ones would be better. I'm soooo glad I finally figured this out!! I can't even begin to tell you guys how relieved I am to have found a recipe that works for me - I was getting extremely discouraged. Anyway, I just wanted to share this rather major (for me, at least, haha) pre-surgery victory. Now I'm off to go hunt down some of that peanut butter powder I've heard some of y'all talking about!

Hi. I am currently working through the 6 months required for insurance. Like most everyone else, I have been having a hard time with the Protein shakes. I did find that I love the Premeir Protein Shakes from costco. I just went to a Sleeve support group and the nurse said that we can't have the whey Concentrate for a couple of months. I thought it seemed like a lot of people on here use Premeir. Has anyone else been told only Whey isolate? My doctor only recommends unjury and Syntrax nectar. I have a hard time with both kinds. Who has used Premier Protein and been successful?

I started having Protein shakes (Platinum Hydro whey - 30 gms Proteins per day). After 3 months, it has again risen to 150+. All other reports are normal. Is something wrong with me ? Yikes!! I didn't realize how incredibly expensive isopure is! $89/canister! Only 22 servings? Holy cow! They have muscle milk in large canisters too but I am not sure if that's a feasible protein source. I did try some sample packs and this mornings was cookies and cream flavored lean shake, gnc brand. Not too bad.

Hey guys, I am just starting this journey of getting approved for WLS, but I have been reading that a lot of people advise to get lots of samples of protien shakes before hand to see what you like. Can anyone tell me what is a good way to go about getting samples? Can you just buy individual pakets of protien powder, or one single shake? Can any one recommend a good tasting shake? Any additional info would be great as well Thanks!

Hi everyone, I was researching Protein powders, and I ran across this Syntrax Matrix 5.0 in orange cream, bananas & cream and strawberry & cream. This is not whey protein isolate, but whey protein concentrate, casein-rich milk protein concentrate, and egg white protein. Is this acceptable to use post-operative? I am 8 weeks out and still dependent of Protein drinks to get most of my protein, and I'd like to try these flavors. Thoughts? Thanks for your help! G.

I love the HMR Meal Replacement shakes. There are 4 kinds: HMR 800, with 16 grams Protein per shake; HMR-500, with 10 grams protein per shake; HMR-70+, which is lactose-free, can also be made into a pudding, and has 14 grams protein per shake, and another one which I don't use. They all come in chocolate or vanilla, but can be mixed with flavored liquids to change the flavors. They are available online at hmrprogram.net. I have been using these shakes for over 10 years to lose weight. I lost from 204 lb to 128 lb in 2003 and maintained the weight loss for over 5 years, as long as I stayed in the maintenance phase of the program. after I left the program in 2008 after…

So, having a shake or two a day at this stage, and have bought tubs of Isopure chocolate (yum), GNC vanilla (yum) and Isopure unflavored (yuck). Trying to mix flavors up a bit and thought I'd share two things that are pretty delish. 1.) 1/4 teaspoon of peppermint oil in either the chocolate or vanilla. Yeah, it's alcohol, but a miniscule amount in a 12-oz drink. Even a few drops is noticeable flavor! 2.) For a mealtime shake, adding a 1/4 cup of pumpkin, some nutmeg and cinnamon to the vanilla powder with 12 oz of Water or milk. Really good and filling too.

I just wanted to toss in my two cents on those I have actually tried: unjury vanilla and unjury chocolate splendor were great. To me they tasted very close to carnation instant Breakfast. Six star triple chocolate from Walmart I like too- very chocolately. Not as good as unjury but not bad at all. costco already made chocolate shakes aren't bad either. I don't really care for those EAS ones from Walmart personally.

I blended it up with milk and ice in my blender and it's literately just like a yummy milkshake. I'm going to try it again after surgery and make sure it still works then I may buy more flavors!
