I got some calcium citrate chewables and will have to do 4 of them a day....they are so gross! I came across UPCAL D powder that you can mix in with shakes or soups. They claim it's flavorless. Has anyone tried this? Here's the website for it. Would love to hear any thoughts on it. Thanks http://www.procarenow.com/UPCAL-D-Powdered-Calcium-20-oz-can_p_10055.html

Hi All: I live in Miami but got my sleeve in Ecuador on Feb 5th, 2013. My doctor only has me taking the B12 sublinguals and no other Vitamins or supplements. I have asked him and he says they are not necessary. I feel well but wanted to make sure if I am doing the right thing by not taking vitamins. Thanks for your help.

Hi all. I am trying to share this as much as possible because I've had so much success with it. Moringa is a tree that grows so many miles from the equator and is used in countries where they are fighting malnutrition epidemics with phenomenal success. It also regulates blood sugar, cholesterol blood pressure, is an anti-inflammatory, and much more. In addition it is the most nutrient rich product available. There is a YouTube video that is a documentary from the Discovery Channel which is very interesting. It has like 92 nutrients and 2 times (gram for gram) the amount of Protein in milk, I believe it's like 4 times the Calcium in milk, 7 times the Vitamin C in an…

But I've tried the chicken soup last night and couldn't taste anything!! Just mixed up a Strawberry Sorbet with a Lemonade Crystal Light and same thing! Can't taste a thing!!!

I'll be starting my 2 week preop diet on April 30th for my May 15th sleeve date. I've been trying to replace one meal a day with a Protein shake to help get me ready. I'm noticing i'm getting nauseous after I drink a Protein Shake. I've tried 4 or so different kinds all with the same results. The only one I haven't had a problem with is nectar, Fuzzy Navel. Has anyone else experienced this ? Thanks, Missy

I have tried everything I can think of to put all these nasty crushed pills in to make it easy to swollow like jello, pudding, yogurt , and a liquid vitamin. I am having a hard time with this. Does anyone have any suggestions to make this easier. Please help.

I know there are several different ways of getting protein, but with the powders is there really any difference between pea, whey, soy or hemp? I live in a little town that doesn't have very much for health stores and they have a mixture of those 4 proteins so I'm wondering if ones better than the others & why? I had surgery on 2/19 & have been having issues getting my protein in & am looking for so different options Any help you can give would be great. Thanks in advance for your info :}

I am having a really hard time with the protein shakes but today I found Protein to go, I picked up 3 different kinds and it is much easier for me to get down 2.5 ounces of this than a whole shake. Has anyone tried them? By the way they have 28 grams of protein in 2.5 ounces

Any recommendations? I keep hearing "unjury" on here, but I want to see some other options as it's main ingredients are whey and soy. I'm looking to mainly work it into my daily water (with crystal light/mio) routine and soups. I'm stalled as of a few days and I keep hearing "up the protein and water." Maybe I can do a twofer.

A lot of the protien shakes are whey or soy based which I'm allergic to. Has any one tried egg white protein shakes? They taste a lot better and have up to 26g of protein. I think this could be a good thing!!

I am only a few days post -op but for some reason I looked at my allowed list of liquids again. Skimmed milk was on the list! So, I found the NUT's suggestion: 8 oz milk, 1/3 cup dry milk, one envelope of sugar free Carnation Instant Breakfast. Shook it up....it's GOOD! 21 grams per 8 oz. Now, its a lot of fluid to try to get down and drink water too, but I'm sipping sipping sipping.....

I was having a horrible time with whey Protein and could only keep the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury down...then my nut suggested Soy. Wow, what a difference! I do like the Unjury as it does have better flavor and the vanilla mixed with cinnamon is good, so is the chicken Soup. I just got a small container of EAS chocolate Soy and it's very good! No more nastiness and smell of the other whey shakes. I also don't have the issue of nausea or headaches. If you're not tolerating whey, try soy with Water or skim milk. It's worth it.

I am one week out and struggling to get in my 70-80 g Protein (req. by my nut). I have been using EAS Myoplex Original, but it takes me all day to even get 3/4 of the container in. Yesterday and today, I added a packet of powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury. I also mix my Water 1/2 with Isopure and Mio or CL. Since I can only get in about 2 ounces every 2 hours at this point, I don't feel like I'm overloading with protein at one time. Is this okay? Am I harming my recovery or overdoing it? This is just while on full liquids, unless I can't get enough protein from food in the first part of…

Its like 12 mgs or so. Now my perscription is for 220 mgs!!!! A bit freaked out about this but of course Dr is off til Monday. Anyone know anything about this???

So, I am pre-op but decided to start sampling Protein beverages in advance so I'll have some on hand that I predict I'll be able to tolerate for my post op. Or at least know where to get them. So I went to GNC & got 4 Isopure drinks, found mybariatricpantry.com which will sell you samples of the Syntrax matrix & nectars shake powders & ordered some unjury samples also. I am shocked at the pricing of cost per serving. The samplers were less than 20$ and came with 8-10 samples from the pantry website & the unjury was 20$ for 4 samples. Gnc local store had the isopure bottles 5.99 each, their website had them for 3.99+ shipping. Just wish I had wrap…

Did a search but didn't find this question asked before, so my apologies if it's a repeat post. So I know that the body can only absorb 500mg of Calcium at once, but are there any rules like that about Protein? I'm thinking about mixing my premier rtd chocolate shake (30g protein) with a scoop of Syntrax Nectar Chocolate Truffle (24g protein) for a total of 54g protein. Can the body use all that at once? Or is it pointless and should I spread it out throughout the day more? Thank you!!

I have been using the GNC Wheybolic Protein and it has 60 g of protein (3 scoops not thick) in 12 oz of water. Great way to get all protein in one drink and the taste is tolerable. Do no recommend the plain whey as it has aftertaste and does not mix as well. Comes in chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and cookies and cream. So far I've only had chocolate.

I worked from the Hotel yesterday (i.e., my home during the week). I caught the last part of the Dr. Oz show where they talked about three Vitamins / nutrients. http://blog.doctoroz.com/is-this-right-for-you/chromium-polynicotinate-is-this-right-for-you http://blog.doctoroz.com/is-this-right-for-you/diindolylmethane-dim-is-this-right-for-you http://blog.doctoroz.com/oz-experts/a-new-omega-3-krill-oil I thought all three had merits worth checking out for everyone, but especially for WLS folks. Especially, DIM since it is hard to get enough vegies in when we have to eat Protein first. Thus, I thought I would share. Mary

The 4th day after surgery I'm supposed to start taking protein in clear liquid form. I'll do this for 10 days and then I can do skim milk and protein powder.. I'm thinking about getting this at walmart http://www.walmart.c...17.4oz/13274526. My nutrionist said i need 50-60 grams of protein a day. I can do two of these shots a day and get that amount. Has anyone else tried these?

Is there a brand out there that makes a peanut butter shake? Just a plain ol' peanut butter shake. No chocolate, no banana. I love peanut butter, and I know I could just add it, but it would be so much easier not to have to. Maybe even if they made it in a pre-made drink.
