I've been researching and I'm finding a discrepancy in grams of protein per serving. The canisters say the same thing but when I compare the labels some have 6grams of protein and others have 25 grams per serving. Is some specially formulated for WLS patients? I was just trying to find the best price. What is the difference? Anyone know?

I ordered the sample pack from unjury. I mixed the vanilla and the chocolate with skim milk and pb2. Could tolerate both! But looking into purchasing big tubs, isopure seems to have some great reviews too. Both are pricey, but that is not that big of an issue. Which is better tasting? And better for you?

Ok let me start by saying the Vitamins I take now taste horrible and I can't tolerate it anymore. I take Centrum chewable/ orange taste-it taste horrible Also bariatric support Calcium wafers- the taste Is worse. Now I take it twice a day. The bariatric support is two big chewable that is chalky. I don't understand why they can't make it more taste able. Ugg please if anyone recommend what's a good product so I can try it. Also, the doctor recommends the brand centrum and I only see they have orange flavor so I don't know if they have any other flavor out there. If anytime knows any if please let me know thank you.

  10. Hello, I had RNY on 02/06/2013, lately I have noticed everytime I drink my Protein shakes I have a hot flash within 30 mins of eating, its quite uncomfortable. I have also noticed having night sweats. Doing some research into whey protein its common on some other boards. They state that Whey can make your hormones off, I am not quite sure if this is the case. I have an appointment on the 6th of June with the RNY Doc, so I hope I can figure it all out before then. Have any of you gone through Hot Flashes after eating? Concerned that it is the Whey I am looking into Soy Protein. Do you have any suggestions on a good Soy Protein Product? I guess I just want to be on th…

I keep forgetting to take my Calcium citrate and can't take it with my Multivitamin because it contains Iron. Is there a pill or chewable multivitamin that also includes all of the calcium citrate we need? I know Celebrate has a powder drink combo of the two, but I don't really care for it. If not, any recommendations for a chewable multivitamin that does not contain iron and for an iron supplement? Thanks!

I'm 4 weeks out, every vitamin I've bought so far taste horrible, I finally went and ordered the Opurity (orange berry), I've taken them twice now once on an empty stomach and once an hour or less after eating. Both times within a min I'm sick to my stomach and have to run to the restroom to vomit. Any suggestions? The nutritionist said not to take gummies or flinstones vitamins but I took gummies before surgery and never had this problem. Vomiting is so flippin painful.

I don't understand what my problem is, when I was buying my protein shakes I went to the store and bought a few kinds to try, I taste tested each then chose the one I liked the best. I had my surgery on Monday July 8th... and I can NOT stand the shakes!!!! The smell of them makes me wish to hurl! Why? what happened? how do I fix it? anyone else have this issue? This morning I mixed the powder in decafe coffee and that seems to be not so bad but takes a very long time for me to drink (over an hour) any suggestions?

I love these syrups! I picked up a couple of the sugar free ones at walmart to try and now Im hooked. I add them to my protein drinks, yogurts, make glazes, salad dressings etc... I went on their websites and they have all kinds of flavors even BACON lol although that is not sugar free. I searched a little more and found a wholesale website that has them for under 5.00 each for the large bottles with no min to buy. lollicupstore.com Just a thought to help add a little flavor!

Anybody use this stuff? It's a protein supplement that provides 18g protein in a 2 Tbsp dose. Found it on Bariatric Choice and if it's tolerable, it could be a good solution for making sure that I get enough protein. I'm only a week out, and it's taking me an hour or more to get down a single protein shake still, so I'm hoping to find some good protein bang for my volume buck at this point.

Sweet tooths? teeth? Anyway, if you haven't already you MUST try Now Sports's whey Protein Isolate in Toffee Caramel Fudge! I got a packet in the sample pack from netrition.com (which is a really good variety, btw). I was really craving something "naughty" last night (as I'm wont to do when my sister comes to visit) and tried this with some chocolate and vanilla soy milk and whoa, buddy! It was like a liquid Skor or Heath bar! I cannot tolerate artificial sweeteners and this was sooooo good, I was sure I was cheating...however it's made with stevia and only has 1 gram of sugar per serving! Plus, you get 23 grams of protein! I woke up this morning feeling so much better …

Does anyone know of any liquid vitamins? Since we are required to drink so many liquids, this may help with vitamin absorption. I'm not a big pill swallower and I'm hearing a lot of people saying they are having problems taking vitamins.

Hi! Does anyone know of any other alternatives for post op vitamins ? My nutritionist told me about "OptiSource" and it has to be taken 4x a day. But its costs roughly $30 for 120 pills... I want to find out if theres something cheaper out there or something where i dont have to take it that many times a day... Thank you !! :-)

I have been trying Chike, Unjury, Ideal Shape (which doesn't meet post op requirements, but I have it on hand) I have found that what you mix it with is very important. I have tried milk, water and almond milk. For me hands down, it is best to mix it will almond milk. So in my experience, if you do not like one, try it in a different fluid. Makes it a world of difference.

  41. I bought a tub of this at the Vitamin Shoppe. It was $49.95. 2 scoops per serving, 22 servings per container. Each serving has 50 Grams of protein, 210 calories, 0 carbs, 0 sugar, and 1 Gm of fat. My question is.... has anyone here used it, and how does it taste? I was thinking I could use 1 scoop as a serving. Should I mix it with skim milk, almond milk or water? Which tastes best? Before I open the canister I'd like to know how it tastes, and if it's worth the money.

I searched but did not find this topic. Can anyone tell me when to take my vits? Example of what i'm asking.. multi with dinner, iron in morning, D3 at bedtime?? My NUT is kind of snarky so i decided to pass on asking her anything unless it's vital. Just want to make sure i'm getting the most benefit. I heard you're not supposed to mix some things. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

  44. I really messed up in making my Cream of Wheat this morning. I finally got some Vanilla Protein Powder instead of just my standard Chocolate. So, I thought putting some in my morning hot cereal would be a good idea. So, during the cooking part of brinking my water/almond milk to a boil, I dumped in some protein powder. Well, it immediately clumped up and looked like giant dumplings. So, what is the correct process to getting our protein powder into hot cereal?

  50. Started by kiwi63,

I really despise the taste of Protein powders. I've tried several brands and they all smell and taste like formula. We can't get Isopure in Canada and I've really been struggling with protein intake so I've started to make my own. It's around 370 calories but it makes a lot and has 23g+ of protein and lots of fibre. 1/3 cup oatmeal (I grind it to powder in food processor and soak overnight in the milk) 1 1/2 cups skim milk 50g Greek yoghurt 1/2 cup frozen fruit 2tbsp ground flaxseed Blast it in the blender and drink it all day. I only use a little yogurt because I don't like it. That and my allergy to cheese are the main reasons I'm struggling with protein. I fin…
