  4. I'm 53 and my face & neck have taken a big hit. Always carried a lot of wt there. I am having face/neck lift in the near future. The PS said neck was from weight but face was more normal aging.
  5. Wow your husband lost a lot, too! Y'all look great!

  10. At this point it's neither here nor there. But, a lot of posters can say exactly what percentage was removed, or left behind..some can even tell you the bougie size. Just wish I knew. I've been hungry since early out. I think some that are never hungry must have a tiny tight tummy and I don't think mine is, to that extreme.

  13. I could never get an answer from my Dr or the PA. Their standard answer is, "it's about the size of a banana"...as they point to a plastic sleeved stomach hanging on a metal stand. Grrrrrr.

  15. Hi, I posted this a few weeks ago on vets forum: UPDATE: price was $15k for TT and arms combo. Hi, not sure where to post this! General, over 50, slow losers??? So here I am Vets, as I thought that's who may have the most interest. I had my PS appt today, wanted to share the info I received. Hope it's helpful. First, my ins is Excellus BCBS. Here's the low down: Appt was about 40 mins with the surgeon. I was worried he may say I need to lose more but he didn't. They won't do surg if you plan on dropping a substantial amount more of weight. He said very doubtful ins would pay for any of it. My insurance requires several things, just for panni. Mainly, the panni must be hanging below your privates (down to mid thigh area). Mine doesn't. Something else I didn't know, panni only allows them to cut below belly button, meaning...one cut then pull it all down and reattach. Your belly button will now be very low, skimming your groin area. He does TT and arm combos a lot, but won't do TT with breast lift. Would be separate procedures because TT pulling down, BL pulling up. Too contradictory. They're mailing me a price quote. Will see what if any I do, after I get that! VSG Oct 2012 SW 303. Size 24 CW 225. Size 14/16 F/50 5'10 Highest weight ever(1997-2001): 390 size 34/4x Lost this weight on my own

  20. Miss Mac is right. My GB pain would take my breath way. It was in my back like where your bra goes around. Also, pain on front...upper AND lower right. So, if you've had WLS and feel any discomfort like this, go back to your Dr! It's not uncommon for people who've lost a lot of weight, quickly, to have GB problems. The surg itself is easy, in my case...day surgery. Real sore for for a day or two but that was all. Take care!
  21. I'm terrible with the vits. I choke down a chewable most days, and try to take 5000 units D plus calcium citrate tab. But if I'm being honest I skip a lot of days. My labs are due now so we'll see!
  22. I'm two yrs out from VSG. Had GB removed 6 mos ago. For me, the pain of that surg was much worse than sleeve surgery. I took no pain meds after VSG but had to after GB. Now I sometimes get weird pain in that area, but otherwise no problems.
  23. My surg was 10/25/2012. Hard to believe two years out, and sadly, not where I want to be! Bad back has made exercise almost impossible, now...grazing is creeping in and VSG rules are creeping out. I'm trying to get back on track! Overall, no regrets! 51/F. 5'10 SW 303 sz 24 CW 225 sz 14/16 All time HW back in 2001 was 390. All in all I've come a long way! Would love to hit 199, or size 12?

  25. I'm almost two years out. My taste changed dramatically after surgery, but returned to almost normal after several months. For example, pasta tastes awful (thankfully!). My sense of smell amplified greatly too, but it's leveled off..still more sensitive than before surgery, though.

  28. Hey Fellow Sleevers! Wow this topic is so on point. I'm almost two years out. I too, am hungry all the time (since about 4 months after surgery!). I'm up about 10 lbs from my lowest wt. The grazies have snuck back in, the weighing, measuring have left the building. I recommitted this week. Logging in MFP, trying to keep in the 800-900 cal per day range. It's so hard!! Still need to up my liquids. Seems all I want to do is eat saltines. LOL And let's not forget that d*mn Halloween candy! It's good to be back on the boards...keeps me focused. Would love to make it to 199. SW 303 (Oct 25, 2012) sz 24 CW 222. Sz 14/16 F/52. 5'10" All time high wt 390 (2001) ugh
  29. Looks like nobody's around from Oct 2012 group! I haven't gone to any support groups, but am actually going to my first one tomorrow! i've gained 10lbs over the summer, and from here, still wish to lose 30 more. Need to buckle down!
  30. 5'10 52/F Sw 303....October 2012....size 24 CW 220...size 14/16 Goal : size 12! My high wt was in 2001@ 390, size 34. So in the big scheme of things I've come a long way. Trying to stay on track and drop 20 more lbs. it gets much harder as time goes by.
