I am six weeks post op and have been living on this stuff. Sugar free, 15 grams of protein, and you mix it with water so you get your water in. Tastes exactly like real hot chocolate and comes in a bunch of different flavors like marshmellow, chocolate raspberry, and cinnamon which are my favs.

I made these today, and they came out nice. I'd grade them a B. I'd like to try them with a different juice, like orange juice. I think with that change, they would be an A. Anyway, in a blender mix -2 scoops of vanilla Protein powder (I used Syntha 6 vanilla ice cream) -1 container of Greek yogurt with fruit (I used a 5.3 oz Dannon Light N Fit pineapple) -8 oz of light fruit juice (I used some low cal strawberry banana 50 cal) -1/2 tsp of Orange extract When blended, pour into popsicle molds and freeze. I used some smaller molds, and this made 8 pops. Here is the nutritional info: Per pop Calories 64 Protein 7 Carb 5.8 Sugar 2.9 Fat 1.5 [ATTA…

Has anyone heard of the Myers Cocktail? It is a mixture of vitamins/nutrients that is given through IV so that the Vitamins are absorbed directly in the bloodstream rather than being digested. I just saw it on Dr. Oz and was interested just due to the fact that I have a hard time keeping up my vitamins. Just through the initial conversation, 1 lady gets the treatment monthly. I'm curious if it would be beneficial or could replace a multi-Vitamin for us sleeve patients. Christie

Hi all, I was wondering something. My surgeon says he only wants me to have protein supplements (drinks, powders, shakes ect..) that have whey protein ISOLATE in the ingredients. But I've noticed that a lot of them just say whey protein. Is there a big difference between the two? Thanks for any replys. My surg date is in july.

I bought this (the name in title) today but now I'm reading that we need calcium citrate? This one is calcium carbonate. I assumed that its citrate (I was rushed by my screaming toddler) since its called citracal! So no calcium carbonate post op? What's the difference?

Hi everyone! First off, I would like to congratulate everyone for making a proactive choice to improve the quality of your lives and your health. I am scheduled for surgery the 24th of this month. I just had my amazing pre-op nutrition and education class. One reccomendation the dietian made was a probiotic. Anyway I work at cvs and I saw that we will be carrying a powder probiotic. It is a CVS brand. You can mix it with your fluids or add it to food. It is $14. 99 and we often have buy one get one 50% off sales!

Well I am allergic to whey & Casein and I HATE shakes of any kind. My nutritionist turned me on to Vega One Protien powders and it's acceptable - far better than any protien shake I have ever tested. But it is $$$$ expensive $$$ Anyone have any suggestions?

I am allergic to whey so I am using the Sun Warrior brand of vegan protein powder in the natural flavor so I will be able to add it any kind of liquid as recovery progresses. I just want to let everyone know about a natural cocoa powder called "Cocoavia" that is high in flavanoids. I add this to the powder with 4 oz unsweetened vanilla almond milk, 4 oz "Egg white international" pasteurized egg whites, a little vanilla extract and nectresse sweetener to taste. I really dont care for any of the pre-made powder flavors so this has been a lifesaver for me so far.

I am sooo excited about having this surgery. Going to Mexico and my only fear is this pre-op diet. First, if I was diciplined enough to drink Protein shakes I would not be in need if surgery. Second, I am not a fan of powder shakes. I actually like body by vi with fruit ect but from What I have read on here it is not aloud. I Also travel for work and will not really have access to Blender. Can anyone suggest ready made pre-op Shakes that meat the requirements and are good? Thanks

I ordered some single packs and a large tub of the chocolate and wound up not liking it at all. I have the following 2 Strawberry 2 Chicken 1 Vanilla 1 Chocolate Splendor 1 Unflavored 1 Tub Classic Chocolate The packets run $1.99 and the tub is $22.95. I would ask $37 for them and it will save you about $7 in shipping but you'd have to pick them up from my home near Doylestown. If anyone is interested LMK otherwise I'm just going to send them back.

I was told I needed to start taking a multi Vitamin and a Calcium + D supplement. I am struggling trying to find one and I don't know what the rules are for taking them. I'm assuming that swallowing Vitamins right after surgery isn't going to be allowed, but are gummy vitamins allowed? what about those chocolate chews? Plus I am trying to find something as close to all natural (even organic) as possible! for both the Multivitamin and calcium supplement.

Ok so this Vitamin supplement I found seems like it has everything but the kitchen sink. I know I have to do Calcium and probably Iron but this is looking good for a multi..what do you all think? It's a liquid so I don't have to swallow a bunch of stuff. I can post the link to it if anyone is interested. Supplement Facts Serving Size 1 Fluid Ounce (30 mL) Vitamin A (500% [5,000 IU] as retinol palmitate and 50% [5,000 IU] as beta carotene) 10,000 Vitamin C (as calcium ascorbate) 500 Vitamin D (as ergocalciferol) 400 Vitamin E (as d-alpha tocopheryl acetate) 200 IU Vitamin K (as phytonadione) 80 mcg 100% Thiamin (as thiamine mononitrate) 25 mg …

So, I've bought the variety pack, and started with the alpine punch. It was actually ok. I tried it very cold, and though it is slightly chalky, and gives you that type of feel in your mouth after drinking it, I could definitely drink those during my liquid/whole liquid phases of my diet! I'll try another tomorrow.

I really dislike the taste along with the idea of artificial sweeteners! They tend to be way too sweet and have a bad aftertaste. I've been searching for a flavored Protein shake without aspartame or sucralose and it's was not as easy to find as you may think. This morning I came across an article on clean eating that had a review on Protein shakes. The article mentioned the brand,Only Protein, so I checked out the website.... It sounds very promising! No aspartame or sucralose, it's sweetened with stevia. Only Protein offers just two flavors, vanilla & chocolate and I bought them both. I'm thinking of adding decaf instant coffee or PB2 to add variety. I am …

Hello, I am due to have the sleeve surgery on 5/20 and have worked so hard to get to this point. Now that everything's established, I just have one problem. I have no money left for Protein. If anyone has any protein that they don't want or use, send it to me. I will pay for shipping and may take deals if deals are offered. I wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't completely necessary. It can be shakes, Soups, anything. Thanks in advance for reading this, Janiadurl a.k.a Tiffany

http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?productId=13164543&cp=3593187.2108294 Out of all the unflavored protien powders, i thought this was the best: GNC's Pro Performancw100% whey Protein. It truly doesn't taste like anything, nor is it accompanied with any odor. It will thicken up what you mix it into, but just a little bit. I'll take that over the shakes, any day!

I have discovered the secret  (at least for me) to enjoying protein drinks - Nose Clips! For some reason when you plug the nose that weird taste from the protein isn't noticeable. All I can taste is the flavor that the drink is supposed to be. Nose clips will make it hand free and also make it so once I have the surgery I don't have to try to hurry up and drink it. I was also excited that for once, it was a cheap fix! Who would have known the swimmers knew the secret all along. Wish they would have shared though

Hi all, Does anyone know exactl how much Premier Protein shakes cost at Costco? How many in the case? I can get a 12 pack of the 11 oz size for $22.57 on Amazon so I was wondering if it is worth the fee to join Costco if I would not be saving that much. Thanks.

A friend of mine was sleeved a month ago and I asked her when she was able to start swallowing whole pills... she said never. Her doctor told her she had to have liquid or chewable Vitamins from here on out. I am a bit frustrated at hearing this because I've been going out of my way to obtain supplements, spent quite a bit of money on them, I've got my Bariatric Advantage multi, my B12, Biotin, zinc, etc. -- NONE of which are chewable. What am I supposed to do with this stuff? Do you guys crush your pills and mix with liquids or what? Or can you actually swallow pills post-op? Some advice is needed, thank you!!

I am 7 mths out, down over 110 lbs and of course, like most started losing hair at about 4 mths out. A few months ago I was introduced to Moringa. Moringa Oleifera is a tree that grows in countries like India, Philippines, and a few others. It's been known to treat and prevent over 300 diseases, has been used for nourishment for malnourished children and nursing mothers in countries where it is an epidemic, and it's of course all natural. It has 25 times more iron than spinach, 4 times more protein than in eggs, 10 times more viamin A than in carrots, 17 times more calcium than in milk, 15 times more potassium than in bananas, 7 times the Vitamin C in oranges, 2 times…

My nutritionist warned me that I would soon loathe Protein shakes. Boy was she right. I’m 4.5 weeks post op and have to force myself to gag down a Protein shake every day to ensure I get enough in. This morning I tried something different and I’m so thrilled with it that I just had to share. Firstly, I must say that I’m not one for taking the time to concoct fancy Protein Shakes in the blender. If I can’t grab it and drink it on the go, forget it. So this morning, I opened up a Premier Protein shake (I can only stomach the chocolate flavor, the vanilla tastes like sewage). This time, I added a little bit of skim milk to it. I was amazed… I actually liked it! No…

So I'm in Vancouver, Canada and I'm trying to find out if there are any Canadians who have had success ordering Syntrax nectar in Canada. I've ordered the sampler pack from netrition.com, the cost of shipping was unreasonable but I caved, and the shipping time was much longer than I had anticipated. I've found thelowcarbgrocery.com, but they only have a select amount of flavors, and the base price is nearly double what I've found on U.S. sites. Pretty much I'm wanting to know if you've found somewhere with a full range of the flavors that ships to Canada, and if you could let me know if the shipping costs were reasonable or not. Thanks!

I keep seeing the commercial for the supplement Ruby Reds and I'm just wondering if it's a legitimately good product to use? I'm still pre-op but I'm trying to figure out what supplements would be best to do post op. Also, is anyone using biotin to keep their hair? I already have sort of thin hair and I'm worried about losing more after surgery. Any tips on what I can do to maintain my hair as much as possible? And lastly, what - if anything - did you use to help your scars heal/fade? Do you use anything to try firming your skin as you're losing weight?

I went with my list to GNC today...they told me they usually sell PB2 (the peanut butter powder), but they were out of it...he said the grocery store across the street sold it...I was skeptical...they did have a product called PB2 that was a "natural peanut butter powder," and it was on the shelf with the organic peanut butters (not in a health food or dietary section)...I have seen this product recommended on the message boards...is this product I bought at the grocery store the same as what others are using here on the message boards post-surgery?
