I thought there was a link for free protein packet samples. Can someone point me in the right direction?

  2. Started by penman53,

Lately I have been feeling very tired. I was sleeved on the 24th of July and so far I have lost 30 pounds. I use my Fitness Pal and last night I did a report over the last 30 days of my proein consumption. It was too low. So I am tryig to up it. My question is this? How many others have had this situation occur and what did you fo to help it. Thanks, Mark, Edmond Ok

  3. Comes in several gourmet coffee flavors.... French Vanilla, Expresso, Mocha, Caramel, Latte. 110 calories, 20 protein, 4 carbs, 2 fats. About $28 a bag, 22 servings. Tastes as good as Starbucks or McDonalds Frappes. Each has 80 mg. of caffeine.

I've had about 99 grams of protein today is that to much. Being a female should I just stick to the 64g a day. Anyone know...

  6. Started by marynoel,

I just left TJMaxx with a bottle of Creation's Garden liquid protien. It's orange flavored. 32 ounces for 12.99. Took two teaspoonfuls ....16 grms protien. Just like taking cough syrup. Not bad.....this is for me! Those drinks and ahakes are ghastly!

  7. Started by M.A. Cruz,

Does anyone add an extra scoop to bottled protein shakes? Instead of having your typical 30g of protein per bottle your getting 60g with that extra scoop. Just checking to see if I'm the only one; Hopefully not.

This may sound really odd but every time I do laundry lately all I can think about it how I can't wait to pick up a thin hanger to hang my clothes on instead of having to make sure I get a big one so that my shirts won't fall off of the hanger or worrying that my pants will break the thinner hangers! Some of my new shirts fit so much better on the hanger and it is almost stupid how happy it makes me. It is funny to me what can make me FEEL successful.

  9. Started by SkinnyScrapper,

Has anyone tried Shakeology? I really liked the list of green ingredients, but tried the chocolate and it is really thick and sweet. I know someone who is making these but adding in a lot more liquid (2 cups + ice instead of 1 cup). Of course, if I did that I would add unflavored Protein powder. Anyone with experience???

I'm preop scheduled for October 3rd just getting everything together. I've started all my vitamins and have been drinking shakes for breakfast. I bought the clear, non-thickening fiber supplement yesterday and was wondering how much fiber I should be taking postop to help keep me regular. From reading other threads I will also pick up some MOM and Miralax and I've got my Gas-X chewables already.

I've read in numerous places people cooking with protein powders (flavored & unflavored). I've also read that cooking protein at high temp will destroy the protein. So you're basically wasting the powder and its doing nothing for you. Any input on this?

Ok, so I have a question... I am trying to get myself geared up for surgery by starting on my protein shakes and smoothies early. When I am on the liquid diet after surgery, can I still have the fruit and veggie protein smoothies or do I have to stick to something basic like unjury in milk? Thanks in advance!

I'm interested in getting sone protein powder unflavored and I want to get chocolate and vanilla shakes.Where should I go? I will se unflavored post op.

  14. Today I tried a couple of drops of cinnamon oil to my chocolate shake and wow! The sharpness of the cinnamon overpowers the nasty gummy protein quality, but don't use more than a drop or two in an eight ounce cup. Use true cinnamon oil, not ground cinnamon. Yummy!

Hi, I am so tired of the costco and unjury Proteins, was wondering if anyone has tried this and if its ok to do instead. Its a fruit punch so I would mix with cold Water. It was very expensive so I don't want to use it and then find out i shouldn't have. Seems like it gives muscle strength? I have an email into my NUT but she hasn't answered yet. I attached a pic any input would be appreciated. TY

I dislike all protein powders, and I've tried a lot of them. I've been relying on Isopure drinks (20oz = 40g protein) to get me through the liquid stage. I found a post that recommended Atkins ready-made shakes and tried the Cafe Caramel shake and LOVED IT! Reminds me of a McDonalds Frappe. BUT it has 9 grams of fat per 11oz. Only 4 carbs, 15g of protein, 160 calories....is that fat content too high? Should I not concern myself with fat content at this early stage post-op (10 days out)? My doctor started me on pureed foods day 8 and I've been doing great. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Hi, I have 3 unopened containers of unjury powder. I want to return them or sell them. It was great but my taste has changed and now I don't like it. When I first had surgery, I could put it in coco or Soup and it was great. Now, no matter what I put it in, I taste it. I still have an opened container and I try it again every so often to see if I can eat it but it is a no go with my taste buds. What is the easiest and best way to do this? I emailed the company and they sent me the return form. I don't have the box they came in so I have to get a box to ship it back if I go that route. So has anyone done this before? What is the best way to ship it?

So in my many weight loss attempts I bought a big box of Shakeology packets (chocolate). I like them and would like to use them either pre-op or post-op. They weren't intended for bariatric patients, but as a weight loss tool. I am taking a packet Wed to my NUT for his/her input, but wanted to see if anyone here had any thoughts about using them, either during my 7 day liquid diet pre-op, or during my post-op liquid (but not clear) phase. http://www.shakeology.com/web/shakeology/the-science (general info) http://myshakeology.com/uploads/fckeditor/mdbody/File/downloads/ShakeologyCocoa.pdf (nutrutional values)

Hello, I'm still working up to the Bypass, from the Band and I have a question that always haunted me. I know you're supposed to get 60-80 gm's of protein a day. With my Band, I was encouraged to eat as much protein I can rather then drink it. But honestly, I can't fathom it. My Band is in my body, but my restriction is simply not there. Fills only make me sick, and I've been unfilled for 6 years. Having never really had a small pouch, I don't get how you get along eating tiny amounts of food and/or getting all the protein in. If I do this procedure, will I be drinking protein shakes forever? No one makes it sound very good. I will try sample packs. How much protein can …

After trying lots of Protein shakes and wasting money...I've found Premier Protien shakes. I purchased them at Sams Club. A box of twelve was $16.29 which comes to about $1.35 per shake. I've only seen chocolate and vanilla. I like them because theyre already mixed. Just store in the fridge or pour over ice and enjoy! They are very smooth and mild. The chocolate is my favorite. It tastes like Yoo-Hoo. Each 11oz serving has 30 grams protein and 160 calories.

Okay, so I know we are in July, BUT, today I went and got some Protein powder because I was out. I decided to try a different brand since they have a 5lb tub. It is the BodyTech brand. When I was checking out, the cashier informed me that in Sept they are going to have BOGO or BOGO 1/2 off.! Not sure if it is this brand only or all protein powders, I was blown away by what she said and forgot to ask and also shocked by the BOGO part, but thought I'd let y'all in on the secret! 32. I have had a long road with vomiting, lactose intolerance, and not being able to do Protein powders post-op. Pre-op I could do pretty much any one that tasted good with no stomach issues. Well, I finally found one I can do post-op. Literally, the ONLY one I can do post-op. I tried Designer whey (yes shocked me that I could do a milk based one) Plain & Simple. It is unflavored (though I can taste it in water/almond milk). I've figured out the only way I can drink it is to make an iced Chai Tea with sugar free vanilla Soy Milk, pure vanilla, and a 3/4 scoop of the protein. If I use a whole scoop of protein I'm back to vomiting and feeling stomach pains. This is a re…

  34. Check this out folks! Something we should all keep in mind. Iron Absorption Goat's and cow's milk can affect the absorption of iron; you should never drink either at the same time you take an iron supplement, because both of these types of milk are high in Calcium, which limits iron absorption. According to a fact sheet from the University of California-Davis, some studies have found calcium supplements and dairy products to limit the amount of iron absorbed from a meal. Because of this risk, never take an iron supplement with milk. Read more: http://www.livestrong.com/article/285111-iron-supplements-milk/#ixzz2aewoBHA9

  35. Ick. I am majorly annoyed and need to vent. My doctor's office requires the liquid diet (for two weeks post op) to include 3 to 4 protein shakes a day made from 3 scoops unflavored Beneprotein and half a packet of sugar free carnation instant breakfast. I'm at the end of day five and having trouble getting down one more disgusting drink. I spent a month trying all the protein out there and loaded up on the ones I liked. I was thinking, no prob, I can do this! Now I have to drink this nauseating concoction instead of the protein drinks I like. The nurse said I couldn't switch because if something came up, they need to know exactly what I've been having. Poor me! Play the v…

I just have two quick questions (and a brief discussion) about Protein drinks. 1. Do these count as a meal (I'm 3 weeks post-op) or simply as liquids? 2. Am I really getting all the protein in, or is this just washing through my stomach in the way other liquids do? Since before surgery I have been having a Protein Drink (20-25g) with 1-1/2 scoops of added protein (36g - 40g) to start my morning. While I don't necessarily find them tasty any more, I am also not bothered by drinking them...they're fine. Now that I'm at the stage where I need to schedule 3 meals every day I'm wondering if I get 3 meals in addition to the shake or counting the shake. The second questio…
