PB2

I just added some PB2 to my shake for the first time and i am wishing I did it sooner! Not only did I get an extra 5g of protein it makes it tastes so much better! I highly recommend it for any of you peanut butter lovers out there!

Where are you in your post op diet? I still have 3 weeks of a liquid diet. Did the pb2 dissolve into the protein drink?

I have about a week and a half left of the shakes but tomorrow I can start adding puréed foods. I do find that the pb2 doesn't dissolve all the way but that may have just been how i mixed it. I shook it with a blender bottle. My stomach didn't seem to have any trouble with it though.

Ok. I think I probably will wait a bit longer before I try it. I am only 1 week post op. thanks.

Oh lucky you. My dr wants a 4 week liquid diet post op. I was sleeved on July 31.

How much protein do they want you to take in daily if you dont mind me asking?

At this stage dr said minimum of 50 grams of protein a day and 64 ounces of liquid. Other than the first couple days, I have had no problems getting it all in.

I also love the PB2! I can now tolerate the shakes. Great product!

The best place I have found to buy PB2 is bellpllantation.com. The shipping is high, but if you call customer service they can get you a better deal on shipping.

You can get 4lbs for $27. That's about what you get two lbs. for on amazon.

I've found it in my local grocery stores...I heard they have it at Walmart as well but I haven't checked

I have bought mine from wal-mart. Like $4.85 for 17 servings I think?

Interesting fact about PB2:

"There's a little sleight-of-hand with the nutritional comparisons of PB2 and Peanut Butter.

12g of the PB2 has 55 calories, 2.84g fat, 3.75g carb, 4.37 Protein. Then you mix it with a Tbsp (15g) of Water to get your finished product.

A 32 g serving of Peanut Butter is 190 calories, 16g fat, 6g carb, 8g protein.

Comparing weight-to-weight (32g PB2) = 145 calories, 7.5g fat, 10g carb, 11.65g protein. So basically the powder has 1/2 the fat of real PB, 65% more carbs, and 50% more protein. But only 25% less calories.

OK, lastly, what this really means is that you need 22 grams of "PB2" to equal one serving of peanut butter from a protein/carb nutrition factor, not the 12 grams stated on their web site. 100 calories. But you WOULD be saving 11g of fat in that serving."
