I've recently figured out that I'm lactose intolerant. I'm 11 days post op and am currently on full liquids. The protein shakes are making me sick. It's not as bad now that I've stopped using skim milk and started using almond milk instead, but it still makes me a little sick. I think the problem might be the powders that I'm using. I currently use Pure Protein and EAS. Does anyone have any suggestions for protein powders that I can use?

Interesting article in Men's Health about the efficacy and testing of Vitamins. http://news.menshealth.com/getting-enough-vitamin-d/2013/02/16/ It contains a link to the non-profit testing agency that tests and validates the efficacy of vitamins/supplements: http://www.usp.org/usp-verification-services/usp-verified-dietary-supplements/verified-supplements.

I want to make sure I pass the deals along when I find them. Fruit drinks sale. The promo code is SUMMER20. (Ends 9-3-13) Also on your first order you and I can BOTH receive $20 if you put in my refer-a-friend code at the bottom. This way if you wanted to try something new but didn't want to spend the money then you don't have to. I myself bought some perdigested Protein samples to see if i'll be using them after surgery. And I myself would have loved for somebody to give me a code since my 8 bottles cost me $21.32 dollars. I would had only had to spend $1.32 ....ha ha...thats me....a sister that loves a deal. Well i'm just passing on the info. Hope you find it he…

I had my surgery in August of last year. In the last 2 months I've started noticing that my hair is thinning and falling out...a lot of it. I take 5000mcg of biotin everyday and sometimes even double that. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, did anything help? I'm desperate!

I bought a case of Isopure RTD and I haven't opened yet because I don't like that way it taste. I know I can't finish one in a day. I was reading reviews about Unjury and people said that it taste good and it doesn't really taste like protein. I was also told the same thing about Isopure....now I'm stuck with a case of it and several different bottles. What do you think?

Buy 2, get one free. I haven't tasted them but.... In a 20 oz bottle there is 160 calories, 0 fat, 50 mg of Sodium, 60 mg. of Potassium, 0 carbs, and 40 grams of protein. Sounds perfect for the clear liquids 1 week post op.

I have 1 week left on my liquid post-op diet and I would rather not eat than drink a protein shake or eat soup. I am not milk drinker at all but I have tried to choke down protein shakes. At this point, my gag reflexes kick in when I even put a shake or soup to my mouth, My question is does anyone have any suggestions on something to eat/drink that will get me through this last week of liquids. Thanks so much for the advice!

So today I decided to buy a blender and some "ready to drink" (RTD) shakes, thinking that a can of powder is going to turn me off immediately (vivid memories of Carnation Instant Milk in a box and other powdered Protein drinks I had years ago). I found the cafe caramel, came home and poured half of it in the blender, added ice and tasted it in a few minutes...drinkable, not terrible...or particularly flavorful but CHALKY...so I added 3 packets of Splenda, a couple TB of fat free Greek Fage yogurt and a splash of sugar free caramel syrup from Starbucks...quite an improvement. Next time I will throw in some instant coffee as well. I also bought a 4-pack of the Atkins mo…

Although I do hate them. They are sickening sweet to me. I muddle through them anyway because i have to. My problem with them is that since I have started drinking them I am STARVING all the time. I was never a breakfast person. I usually never ate before 5-6 pm (too much obviously). I was ok with that. I was rarely hungry before dinner time. Now I wake up starving. After I drink my shake I'm actually more hungry. Its a hunger that makes me feel nauseated. I hold off as long as I can and eat a protein bar. It helps a little for a little while. That continues all day until I can eat my lean/ green meal. After that I'm ok until I wake up the next day. I haven't read of an…

I discovered this combo last night- tastes very similar to Dryer's/Edy's cherry chip ice cream or the Dove cherry ice cream bites if you remember those (I loved them). 8 oz light unflavored soy milk (or nonfat milk), 1 scoop syntrax nectar chocolate truffle, 1/2 Tbsp dark chocolate cocoa powder, 1-1 1/2 oz Davinci sugar free cherry syrup. Mix in blender bottle and enjoy! Some of the cocoa remains as tiny little balls which explode with chocolate flavor in your mouth. An awesome chocolate fix! I'm a week sleeved and on full liquids.

I am preop and preparing for my grocery list and favorite variety of protein shakes. I am going to spend the next 10 days trying different ones. I start my preop liquid diet July 25. So far I have tried muscle milk. I can live with that one. I want a variety as I get bored easily. I will try the one from Costco everyone is talking about. Please feel free to keep recommending drinks. This is going to be a long 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after!

Has anyone added syntrax protein to coffee? If so what is the best way? I want to make a sort of iced mocha coffee, but not sure about the best way. Whey protein clumps when added to hot. So should I pour coffee over a little ice to cool it down, add mix, then top with ice?

I tried the 4 hour body diet back in February, and had pretty decent success with it. One of the key elements is something called a pAGG stack, which is Policosanol, Alpha-Lipoic Acid, Green Tea Extract and Garlic. You take a pill 3 times during the day (before each meal) and then one at night without the Policosanol. You take it 6 days a week, then off one, then continue. Every 8 weeks you take a week off. Anyways, it really seemed to work for me, and was wondering if anyone used it to supplement their sleeve and new way of eating. Thanks! More on pAGG http://www.fourhourbodycouple.com/2011/02/02/what-is-the-pagg-stack/

My biggest challenge is getting all my Vitamins and Supplements in. In the past three months I found these wonderful all natural very soluble Vitamins and Supplements my favorite is called "Greens" I prefer "Greens on the Go". You get 8+servings of fruits and veggies. That's exceptionally helpful all you do is mix with your favorite juice, smoothie or water it also gives you a natural energy boost. The Vitamins I take are very soluble and easy on the stomach. The bariatric vitamins took me way too long to chew and dissolve. Check out this website and sign up as a loyal customer to receive 45% off the retail price. Hope it can be helpful to you as it is for me. Check out t…

Researching reviews on Amazon and saw this. About wet myself laughing. "3.0 out of 5 stars Gross, but has a lot of proteinI drink these for lunch because I need Protein and like to torture myself. They taste like a wild boar's butthole farting green apple, but I just close my eyes and pretend that I am Dumbledore drinking the Drink of Despair and I'm able to choke it down."

I am 6 months post-op and still using chewable bariatric vitamins. I have the sense that they are superior to traditional multivitamins. My surgeon says that regular multivitamins are now okay to take. The bariatric vitamins are more expensive. But what are you taking? Are you using bariatric vitamins or regular multivitamins? My blood work shows excellent absorption of the bariatric vitamins. Would a regular multivitamin have less optimal absorption?

Since each of the little sample packets of Sytrax nectar I got were about $2 per pkt, I hate to waste any of it. It says to mix with either Water or milk. I can see mixing the fruit flavored ones with water, but don't the choc/vanilla/cappucino flavors need a little thicker of a mix to make them taste good? To be honest, I haven't even tried them yet. Still waiting to get a little smoothie machine from WalMart so they don't come out clumpy. Just curious. What's your preference?
