Any suggestions re: pre-made protein drinks w/ low carbs and high protein?

Recommended Posts

I just went to Target and was disappointed with the selection. My NUT wants me to be getting at least 25g Protein per serving (with low carbs). It's hard to find! Any suggestions are appreciated!

Premade, I haven't found one I love but powdered I like Unjury, and Chike. Both have to be ordered on line but they do have sample packs. Also I do not mind Isopure zero carb. That you can get in GNC. Also check out VItiamin Cottage. THey have a large selection.

They aren't premade, but I love the GNC Isopure low carb powder. You can mix it with milk or Water. They are 25g of Protein for 6 ounces of liquid, and low carb. They are the only Protein Shake I thought tasted good.

I like the premade Premier Protein.....a 4 pack is available at walgreens......an 18 pack is available at costco (and maybe Sam's, BJ's.....you might want to try walmart) Good luck!

As a beginner post op ( month 1-3), I liked using Syntrax Nectar sweets like double cookie and chocolate truffle. My surgical center recommended them and I found the taste pleasing, they were easy to mix with both milk / Water and I did not get tired of them. After month 3 to about month 5, I used Syntrax matrix brand Oreo flavor. It is an extended release formula and keeps you satisfied longer then the Syntrax nectar Proteins. Between month 5-7, I used GNC amplified Wheybolic Cookies and creme flavor. This shake fueled my running 5ks and 10ks. Between month 7 and 13 ((now), I use 3 proteins to fuel my fitness at home and in the cross fit box : muscle milk lite cake batter first thing in the morning, synth 6 cookies and cream for workout recovery shake and optimal nutrition gold standard casein chocolate flavor for bed time. I enjoy drinking Protein Shakes and they help me meet both caloric and energy needs for intense fitness. I usually just mix my shakes with water, but will mix with lite vanilla soy on a casino if I really need the extra Protein. Every shake is fairly low carb except the synth 6 which has 30 grams of carb instead of 1-2 as the other proteins do. I need the carbs to replace those lost during working out. Hope this helps.

GNC have Protein Shots by carnivor. They look like 5hr drinks but a little bigger. They have 50g of good Protein. Ask your gnc rep. You will be surprised how supportive they may be and they have a lot of knowledge on their products. Keep in mind a lot of us shop there so this is nothing new to them.

I agree with Premiere being good. 30 grams of Protein per serving. I take half in a.m. Then half in afternoon/evening. I get mine at BJ's

Hey everyone I'm new to vst. I'm 3 weeks post op and in need of assistance finding a descent tasting Protein powder. Can anyone share suggestions thank you.

Syntrax nectar and powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein powders are fairly popular for folks here on VST, especially as a new post op. There are many different flavors to choose from sweet to fruity flavors. I personally prefer sweet flavors like Cookies and cream, vanilla bean or chocolate truffle. However, everyone has different tastes. Both brands are available in sample packs if you want to try before committing to 2 lb tubs.

Not available in stores, but from a quality stand point, Isagenix is very good as well. I find the flavors very good and can be mixed with Water or non-fat milk, but not pre-made.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
