  15. heating pad for your belly. the heat helps a lot..
  16. a heating pad.. just incase they don't have one.. Hot blankets just didn't cut it enough.. It helps when you are laying in bed to relieve the gas.
  17. I loved corned beef. I made it on sunday for the first time since surgery and it made me sick. I chewed really well on purpose and it still didn't want to stay down. SAD. I would eat it at least once a month pre op.
  18. I didn't have dairy problems. In fact, it was the only things I could tolerate early out. especially cheese. I'm 22 weeks out and still cant eat eggs. makes me upset because eggs and cheese go so well together.

  20. Eat slower and smaller bites. and talk to your dr about maybe taking some omeprazole(prevacid). It helped me.. and start your day with a warm drink. Also, try flavoring your water with something.. anthing except plain. I am 20 weeks out and still cant tolerate plain water yet. You'll get there.. hang tough!
  21. You have to just wake up one morning and say. " I don't want to go back to what I was and I need to stop this now" That was me yesterday. I used to love my carbs. cant eat them now. I get sick for hours on one bite of bread. BUT I found that while I am at work, I graze ALL day. nuts candy bars Protein bars and crunchy things to just eat. I'm not even hungry. Just always putting something in my mouth to keep my hands occupied while reading or listening to my customers. I have lost 92 lbs since Oct and I don't want to go back. I feel so good about myself now and I still have about 40lbs to lose. Today, I am starting over. I didn't bring anything with me to graze on. I have my chili for lunch my Protein shake and my oatmeal after I finish my broth here. I don't want to go back to the unhappy, unhealthy me. Keep telling yourself that.. you can do it! Oh, and instead of cracker I do eat ALOT of cucumbers. Seedless.. less gassy feelings that way,.
  22. Talk to your dr about taking some Omeprazole (prevacid) I was always throwing up everything I ate and couldn't eat things without it hurting. I started taking that and it was a miracle drug. Its not just for heartburn or acid reflux. I have been on it for 6 weeks now and its like a life change.. I waited until I was13 weeks out to attempt to make myself feel better. I was miserable from the 3rd week when I started pureed food.

  26. OhYeah! good grab bars Balance bar Gold chocolate mint cookie tastes just like eating an entire package of girl scout thin mints. Makes me want to have a glass of milk with it
  27. I stalled at 3, 8, and 14.. im at 19 weeks have haven't changed in a week. I do weigh myself every morning before I get dressed. I like to see how what I ate the day before affects me. Im very much a numbers person and like to analyze everything. I don't let it get me down. I noticed when I eat or drink things high in sodium I will gain a few oz or stay the same. Don't fret. its normal.
  28. I second the hot/warm beverage first thing.
  29. As far as exercise.. What about a bike where you can just strap your foot onto the pedal and let your other leg do the moving. you can try doing more upper body exercise or asking a PT about what you can do for the rest of your body. maybe even try googling for "exercise for single leg amputees" until you get some strength back in your foot. Don't loose hope. start from the beginning with your diet. we are all here for you. and DROP THE DIET SODA.. that stuff will kill ya,
