  2. I was told that insurance only pre approves for 23 hours - technically making it outpatient but the doctor can extend the stay if needed.

  5. This is what I needed to read tonight !! My surgeon submitted to insurance on the 12th & now I wait. This is the first time during my journey that I'm starting to get nervous. Thanks for sharing your pictures, you look amazing !!

  7. Thanks - I feel better knowing it's not just me. I love the Nectar, maybe i'll just stick to that.
  8. I'll be starting my 2 week preop diet on April 30th for my May 15th sleeve date. I've been trying to replace one meal a day with a Protein shake to help get me ready. I'm noticing i'm getting nauseous after I drink a Protein Shake. I've tried 4 or so different kinds all with the same results. The only one I haven't had a problem with is nectar, Fuzzy Navel. Has anyone else experienced this ? Thanks, Missy
  9. May 15th a little nervous but mostly excited...looking forward to discovering the thin girl that 's been hiding inside of me !

  20. Hello, May 15th is a popular date That's my date as well. I love the idea of it being a second birthday. I'm so ready to start this journey ! I'm sort of surprised that i'm not nervous at all... I guess it's because i've considered and researched WLS for 3 years before finally starting the process. I'm looking forward to seeing less of me in the mirror !
  21. WOW !!! Simply, WOW !! You've done an amazing job....
  22. Reading these posts gets me even more excited for my upcoming sleeve.....May 15th can't seem to get here fast enough ! Great Job !!!

  24. Thanks. Yeah, my Anastasia test & pre op are scheduled within the 30 day mark but I have everything else done - sleep study, lab work, psych eval, cardiac, pulmonary. I was surprised at the number of doctor appointments I had to have over the past two months. Nice to meet someone else with the same surgery date. Are you required to do the 2 week liquid diet prior to surgery ? I'm learning the doctor orders vary greatly. I'm not thrilled about having to do it but I feel like it's my last hurdle to get me to surgery and i'm very excited about that !!
  25. Hello, Just wondering if this is normal - I've done all my preop stuff and my surgeon gave me a date of May 15th but they aren't submitting to insurance until after my April 11th appointment. I have United Healthcare and I've met all their requirements but part of me is still nervous they'll delay the approval and i'll not make my date of 5/15. I guess I was just wondering if this is how it's typically done and if anyone has had experience with United regarding how fast they approve. Thanks Missy
  26. Good luck as you start your journey ! My sleeve date is May 15 th and I'm already dreading the two week liquid diet. I attended my first support group meeting last night and that was very helpful. Knowing people have been closed up with the procedure being done because of their liver size was pretty powerful. I'm hoping that will keep me motivated. My NUT suggested doing one protein bar a day as something to chew. Someone else suggested putting a sugar free drink over crushed ice to give you that chewing sensation.
  27. I've finished all my pre op tests for the most part & was just given my surgery date. Seems like these two months are going to drag !!! Anyone else being sleeved in May?
